Schiit Q and A Livestream With Jason Stoddard. 09/16/2020
I already knew it was CA for the fact the interviewer is wearing a Face Diaper. He sounds like shit (not schiit) lol.
Interviewer sounds like he is wearing a Face Diaper. Masks are for flat earthers.
I love this company. Thank you for all your innovation and passion. Seems never ending in all the best ways.
Too bad you can’t get the Hel anymore…
I want that Ape Schiit painting 😁
Wish I had seen this live! Also wish I could afford more Schitt. Love the idea of a tube phono pre.
Another great company leaves California.
BF2/64 owner here looking to upgrade, go Yggy+ GS2 or wait for Gumby 2??
Yggy+ GS2 will probably be a better value on it's face but Gungnir 2 has a better upgrade path. Yggy will probably be due a few upgrade cards to catch up with all the new technology in the Gungnir. Future Yggy DAC upgrades may be contingent on also upgrading to the new analog stage and the new Unison USB module.
@@SallyMcCracker thanks. Maybe I'll just sit tight for now and wait. Only problem is if GS2 no longer available when Gungnir 2 is released.
@@ronnyangell665 You could always ask Schiit how long they project GS2s will be available as a gauge
@@SallyMcCracker will do thanks!
I love how Dan and Jason slowly defaulted to polite-roasting! 😅 LONG-WINDED EDIT: I don't care about measurements at all. Not even a single bit. SINAD, THD, crosstalk, damping factor, etc., that's none of my aural business. I wanna play the music and feel stuff. End of story. Gear choice augments or reduces that for me, and I know by using my ears to listen to recordings, not my eyes to read measurements. I own a Chord Mojo 2. On paper, it's this uber-amazing technological marvel for the price bracket. In practice, yes, it sounds fantastic, and I respect and even admire its designer's philosophy. I also own an RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition. On paper, it's as close to Delta Sigma perfection as its design and price allows. Yeah, it sounds impossibly clean. I also respect and admire the company's vision and intention when designing it. However, my cheapest Schiit stack, the OG Modi Multibit/Vali 2 combo, which measures much, much worse...a totally irrelevant fact not only in the grand scheme of things, but in any other relevant scheme, is what wows me every time I use it. It just sounds realer, bigger, thicker, wider, deeper and holographic, almost like speakers. It's a whole different listening experience, like a new complimentary sense is enabled. It exudes this unquantifiable dimension of aural excitement that activates another part of my brain and makes my previously mentioned pricey gear sound like toys in comparison. The proof is in the sound output, not in the measurements. Measurements have their place and obviously are important for many reasons to designers and some end users, but reality is so many audiophiles misuse them to create these crazy bonkers narratives. We don't perceive audio by reading numbers with our eyes, but by listening with our ears....and feeling with our bodies. That reading measurements confirms bias and makes people feel pleasure, that's an entirely different thing. Nothing wrong with that in the grand scheme of sanity, but boy is the Internet filled with insane measurebating audiophiles. Imaging rating food based on measurements alone instead of just how it actually tastes. Same looney concept. "Well, it can't taste good, because it was grown in this terrain at this altitude, and it's not the right color, much less organic." 😅
What is the main business reasons for moving to Texas? Due to tax, or regulatory stuff or something else? Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
Oh man, everyone is moving out, but understandable. WIsh you the best of luck.
Good luck with your move! I would love to get my hands on one of your amplifiers to compare it to my icepower amplifier I run currently.
It is too bad I will never get to visit the Schittr now. I have been a big fan of your products for 7 years now and have recommended them to many friends. Currently listening to this on a Rag 2.
Love the DAC Schiit has released. The do an excellent job competing with the more expansive DACs out there.
As much as I love the expensive high end brands, I have always recommended and enjoyed Schitt's products myself. They are some of the best out there at ANY price. The Yggy still holds its own or bests any of the new fad DACs out of China from Holo or Denafrips. Last year I got a pair of Vidar II's one each for mono balanced drive of a pair of Forte IV surround channels in my all Klipsch Heritage setup. They replaced a pair of Bryston 2B-LPs that both blew up after a power outage. They sound amazing and are an incredible value. Made in the USA and beat amps 2-5x the price. I also enjoyed experimenting with the Syn for a bit. Awesome product. My only gripes with it is I'd like to see an upgrade tier version with balanced XLR ins and outs, a high quality resistor/relay based volume and the remote/front panel having their surround control and levels renamed such as Center, Width, Balance etc. The Syn is basically a modern reboot of the legendary Proton SD-1000 all analog multi-purpose surround decoder/synthesizer. It's also similar to Audio Research';s one-off music oriented surround synthesizer from the mid-90s and the Miles Technology Multisonic imager. The Syn's fidelity is FAR better than conventional chip based decoders and it sounds way better with music than modern AVRs due to the all analog circuity and non-movie biased logic steering. It can also be tweaked for movie playback as well with stunning results So happy Schitt had the courage and foresight to bring it to market. Fingers crossed for an MKII!
Is that Ripple u drinkin'?
Missed the live stream; schiit
:: id be interested in the products if the company name was different
Good luck in Texas. San Antonio has been wonderful to me the times I've been there. I didn't catch stream live but can I ask a question? When you do livestreams from the new location, is there any chance you can balance the volume between Jason and the camera guy? Either can't hear what's going on or I'm getting blown out. I couldn't find a happy medium.
Yeah. Please add me in. I like and enjoy your products
Why are you leaving California?
Great move. I fled 20years ago
keep voting democrat and this will happen in your state
I respect a company that leads with business sense vs emotional intelligence…. Good luck guys, love you products
I would like to say that Will who manages the Shiitr is amazing and very knowledgeable! Will thank you for being so helpful!
A shame you had to ban me for life because I work for Gaza now as the Trauma Surgeon you endorsed when I worked in The Ukraine. Hadn't thought you to be such a proponent of the Genocidal Israelian Terrorist Fascist state. Shame on you.
Defiantly going to stir up some Schiit moving! Love your products!
Is that a BMTH shirt?
I'd personally like a well thought out ADC not for pro audio purposes, but for ripping vinyl instead
May this be a fantastic move. Best wishes to all of You
Heresy!
Fans......fans are an abomination.
Welcome to the Texas Hill Country! Tom
Hope the new location works out great! And whoever wins, what a tough decision to make...
Best of luck on your new home!
I need to try your products
Smart move to get out of California. I am excited to visit Schiit in Texas.
I absolutely cannot wait for the Gugnir2!!! Want to stack it with Mjolnir3.
Nothing about this makes sense. I keep watching reviews and reading about this product and it sounds like a pitch to go back to the 80s and implement pro-logic all over again. Half this video is just a soliloquy griping about the current state of Dolby AVRs. Listen- I GET the gripes. The modern state of hdmi equipped AVR product is infuriating. But this product doesn’t appear to address or solve any of these problems. It just side steps them. And it creates a new problem: how to manage my sources (4K bluray player, premium streaming box, couple of current gen gaming consoles, premium up converter that has several more classic consoles connected). You complain about all the faffing about you need to do with modern AVRs and then talk about all the “tinkering” you’ll need to do with this device. WTF are we even doing?
Living in a neighboring state, I’m excited to hopefully get to do a tour. Good luck in Texas!
Congrats on your move - my experience with Schiit product, service and value has been terrific!
Congrats and best of luck in Texas!
Good luck with the move but I was hoping to visit the Schiiter in CA as it's a better drive than TX. San Antonio is really nice, that's for sure.
Thanks for your amazing work here in Cali!!!
Jason has a no-nonsense engineering attitude. He spends the budget where it matters the most regarding the sound.
I need more Schiit in my life
Do we have a picture of the NEW TWO CHANNEL AMP?
I saved up for over a year and recently bought a Bifrost2. It has been a dream come true. Thank you guys very much for an awesome product.
I see no posting of participants drawings to win equipment. If you haven't done it yet can you pick me?
Best success to SCHIIT in TEXAS! Great company!
