This is probably going to sound pretty pedantic but Mike and Jason (and I'm sure the rest of the team) are the first and foremost reason I own Schiit stuff. The products are great and they are the only ones I buy nowadays, I can see that being the case indefinitely with the expanding product lines that fit most everyone's needs, but when you have wonderful fellas like these two making your stuff what more can you possibly ask for.
I believe a couple months ago they stated that there's no Yggy 2 planned yet, but there are the new analog boards coming. I'm not sure what they'd really even need to do for an Yggy 2. They have an awesome DAC chip already, and a great power supply. It really does seem like the only things to upgrade would just be the analog circuit, firmware, and inputs -- which are all upgradeable.
I understand supply issues are problematic, but if at all you could do at least 1 final batch of the Schiit Sol, I would really appreciate it The Sol really is a unique turntable with nothing quite like it and I would hate to miss out on it, I personally wouldn’t even mind a slight price bump! Hoping the Sol hasn’t been entirely shelved yet 🙏
Loved your comment on tubes. Spot on. Had a Valhalla and loved it. Sold it after replacing tubes a few times. Eventually ended up with a Jotunheim. Love it.
About tube DAC’s, any thoughts or comments on the Peachtree Nova-pre with tube buffer, or the Primaluna evo100 tube dac. Just curious if you’ve taken a peak at either of those designs and had any take aways/insights/invectives. ;P
Man, I love the guys over @Schiit. I just stumbled on this company and I love what they're about. I'm thinking of picking up a Bifrost 2 DAC, is this still a solid choice, or is there something exciting in the pipeline I should wait on?
Regarding slow sales, I don't necessarily think this is an issue with the product, but more a matter of discoverability, you literally cannot find the Sol unless you already know the name or brand, but even for those who know the brand, they likely wouldn't associate it with record players and never put the 2 together. You can google for; minimalist record player, design record player, premium record player, contemporary record player, metal record player, lightweight record player, plinthless record player, ... and you still won't be able to find the Schiit Sol, which I think is the main issue. To me, record players aren't just about audio, it's also about art and design, something that vinyl really is able to emphasize with its large format media and sleeves, and as such, I think there is a large audience out there that also cares about the design of their record player, something that the Schiit Sol, to me personally, really shines in, it is a stunning piece of engineering with its minimalist, clean and modern looks. Whoever designed it really went above and beyond! There's no shame in leaning into that aspect of a record player through your marketing in my opinion, and just maybe, it could help with sales. Unfortunately, I also realise this may be all in vain, with issues such as supply and keeping the business going, but I still wanted to share my thoughts, as it would be a real sad time to see such a beautiful piece of engineering get shelved away. Here's to hoping we may one day see it again! Either way, keep up the good Schiit ♡
2023 request: so much more SCHIIT has happened since your book, you should release an update! Or, a sequel. "I could give two Schiits." Cutting off in 2015 is like "Pirates of silicon valley" cutting off the apple story in 1997.

Do you have any other updates to Yggdrasil planned? Or do you have the Yggdrasil 2 in the works? :)

The average SCHIIT client is not sophisticated and does not understand a work of art when he/she sees it. The SOL was their best effort, by far!

12ax7 is used in many Jadis products. Late 70s Marantz was not high end. Late 60s Mike.
I hesitated on the Lokius and it went from shipping in 1-3 days to 2-4 weeks by the time I ordered it
Read the reviews. Unlike the Loki Mini it adds a veil to the sound. I would wait for them to fix the issues.
