I've never been a lineman, but I've been a Larry Allen fan since the 90s. The man was an absolute force. If i was building an all time team, Larry would be my first pick. I know that if all else failed for my offense, my back could always get yards running behind #73. We will never see another O-lineman of his caliber in this lifetime.
Larry Allen is and always will be the best offensive Lineman to ever play in the NFL and I have never been a Dallas Cowboy fan. What that man did to defensive lineman and and running down a guy and catching him from 30 yrs away was the craziest thing I ever saw.
Webster's dictionary if you look up the word boom it will say watch a Larry Allen highlight film 🤣🤣🤣...R.I.P John Madden and Pat Summerall the voice of the NFL broadcast 🙏🏽🏈
Larry's versatility allowed him 2 play all 5 OL positions but he was always best suited on the left side of the OL. Believe me when I say this; Larry Allen would've been a perfect fit on the 1977 squad that won SB XII!!!!!
Been a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan since the 80s I remember exactly when Larry Allen came onto the scene you couldn't miss it was just awesome you knew you had a great one... thank you LA
Larry Allen, Erick Williams they were so big and powerful on the field but the most sweetest men you ever met off the field, I miss the old days of the boys the entire line didn’t get enough credit I felt For sure only by John Madden…..
Larry Allen was like a Pit Bull, he absolutely mauled dudes. He blocked Greg Lloyd like he corner back, Greg Lloyd was as tough and strong linebacker as they come, that dude was a walking muscle.
Nobody mentioned the for sure injury he saved Troy Aikman if LA don’t make tackle he’s done with Connor going full speed and Troy at a bad angle RIP LEGEND
Not really. He led the league in rushing yards before Allen arrived and when Eric Williams was a rookie fighting for a starting spot. Brown had more legendary blockers than Smith and Barry Sanders had two all-pro blockers. Smith relied heavily on his line in one of the greatest defensive divisions in history, more so than Barry Sanders and every other top 5 backs of all time.
HOW GOOD / GREAT WAS LARRY ALLEN: Taking out CB Trevon Diggs (2nd. round 2020), the Cowboys have VIRTUALLY STRUCK OUT on EVERY 2nd. round pick, but not all (through BAD PICKS and / or BAD TRADES), since they drafted Larry Allen in the 2nd. round - in 1994! I can't make this kind of stat up! It's also one of the DIRECT REASONS Dallas hasn't WON a Super Bowl since then! DON'T BELIEVE ME? LOOK IT UP!
@afrolore7462 I've watched every draft since 1983, so I know that. As far as I'm concerned, Lawrence isn't a "BUM", but he's been just an above average player in his career - to me. He's DEFINITELY NOT a "HIT" - at least not how I define a "HIT" - for ALL THAT S**T HE TALKS. Like, WHERE THE F**K WAS HE AT IN THAT Buffalo and 49ers games? Just to name a couple of games. But if you want to consider him a "HIT" 2nd. round player, then you go right ahead. I'll call him a "HIT" player - BARELY. BESIDES: I initially said, Dallas has "VIRTUALLY STRUCK OUT" on every 2nd. round pick since they drafted OL Larry Allen - in 1994. I didn't say, they STRUCK OUT ON "EVERY" 2nd. round pick since OL Larry Allen. Whether you count Lawrence or not, it's a BAD, BAD, BAD TRACK RECORD, and it's STILL one of the DIRECT REASONS Dallas hasn't EVEN SNIFFED A SUPER BOWL since OL Larry Allen was drafted - in the 2nd. round - and you or anyone else isn't going to tell me differently.
The fact that Larry Allen was drafted in the second round is astonishing. He was so good somebody could have drafted him #1 overall while he was a junior in college like the Celtics did for Larry Bird. They waited a year for him to finish college. Larry Allen is in that realm of talent. Staubach was also drafted by the Cowboys and served in the Navy before playing for the team.
I know all about Staubach! I was right there for his whole career! His retirement press conference was the first retirement press conference I have ever seen. Staubach was a 10th. round draft pick. He had a 4 year military commitment before he could the NFL, so a lot of teams weren't going to "WAIT THAT LONG" for a player, even though he was also drafted by the AFL's Kansas City Chiefs in the 16th. round. But Dallas, especially back in those days, were WAY, WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME! That's part of the "PROBLEM" with the "CURRENT" Cowboys! They aren't "AHEAD" of NOBODY! As far as Larry Allen goes, he went to a "SMALL" school, Sonoma State and played basically "GUARD", even though he played EVERYWHERE along the line for the Cowboys except CENTER, but there's NO DOUBT IN MY MIND, he could play CENTER if they wanted him to! But when he came out of college there was a "BIAS" about drafting GUARDS in the FIRST ROUND. Even back then, I personally argued against it with fans off all teams, but was met with a lot of resistance. Now, if you're a "GUARD" and is a "PLAYER" a team is going to draft you. Back then, not so much. Only a team here or there would draft a "GUARD" in the first round when Allen was drafted and especially before then. For me personally, it doesn't matter where a player is drafted as long as he can "PLAY" and especially if he "PLAYS" for MY FAVORITE TEAM!
Chasing down Saints linebacker after Aikman pick as a 335lb rookie . Might be one of the greatest plays in NFL history. Should be shown by every high school and college offensive lineman coach . This is what heart and desire looks like . Can’t coach that. I get chills every time i see that play. Oh i might add , i was an Offensive Lineman, lol. So I’m kinda partial.
The fastest NFL lineman, in the league and the strongest, I miss seeing his highlights films , we miss you and love you, Go Cowboys!!!!!*****
The GOAT of OGs.
John madden was a fan of the cowboys Larry Allen Eric Williams and nate Newton and he always described there blocks with the word boom! 😂
Before the accident Eric Williams was the greatest lineman i ever seen!!!
I've never been a lineman, but I've been a Larry Allen fan since the 90s. The man was an absolute force. If i was building an all time team, Larry would be my first pick. Larry Allen was the best O Linemen ever!!!
Larry Allen & Daryl Moose Johnson that’s why he’s NFL rushing leader.. Much Respect #73 & 48 .. DC4L..
Larry, simply the best
Larry Allen and Eric Williams coming at you.... just lay down!💀💀
And wait, it all out, 😆
Larry Allen is and always will be the best offensive Lineman to ever play in the NFL and I have never been a Dallas Cowboy fan. What that man did to defensive lineman and and running down a guy and catching him from 30 yrs away was the craziest thing I ever saw.
Allen was the best I've ever seen play LT! Make that the best lineman ever
He played LT for probably 1 season but he was mainly a G
He DOMINATED lineman
The Most physically imposing offensive lineman to ever play NFL football
Webster's dictionary if you look up the word boom it will say watch a Larry Allen highlight film 🤣🤣🤣...R.I.P John Madden and Pat Summerall the voice of the NFL broadcast 🙏🏽🏈

Think that was Lloyd on Steelers… Erik Williams was nasty too, pre injury .
Eric Williams need to be in HOF
Yeah Eric ran he's mouth and would tell the guys across from him that the ball is coming this way and you can't stop it.
You are correct! That's definitely Greg Lloyd😂
This O-Line was always in Beast Mode.
My fav nfl player of all time. First authentic cowboys jersey i ever bought
Hands down the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. He does not have an equal, in this day and age he would torment even Aaron Donald.
Been a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan since the 80s I remember exactly when Larry Allen came onto the scene you couldn't miss it was just awesome you knew you had a great one... thank you LA
Absolutely monster! I miss our dominant years! Go Cowboys!
Larry Allen, Erick Williams they were so big and powerful on the field but the most sweetest men you ever met off the field, I miss the old days of the boys the entire line didn’t get enough credit I felt
For sure only by John Madden…..
The speed and size was ridiculous very rare and a nastiness come Sunday unmatched
The most DOMINANT player I ever saw
That whole dallas cowboy offensive line was crazy maybe the best offensive line in NFL history
Larry Allen was like a Pit Bull, he absolutely mauled dudes. He blocked Greg Lloyd like he corner back, Greg Lloyd was as tough and strong linebacker as they come, that dude was a walking muscle.
Could you imagine watching film like this if you were about to play Dallas and Larry was in the lineup?😮
Larry Allen was an apex predator stud.
THE BEAST LARRY ALLEN #73
Strongest man in NFL.. COWBOYS to 49ers..
Beast doesn't say enough. Big Larry was a monster. Word of advice to all GMs if you ever get a lineman like Larry never let him go ever.
He should be mentioned as often as Smith, Irving, and Aikman. He didn’t get the ball, but was just as important to the Cowboys’ success.
Greatest olineman of all time!
Loved Larry's induction speech to the Hall of Fame ( ck. it out ) Pure Homeboy !
we need someone like Larry Allen and then Prescott and Tony Pollard will be unstoppable please Jones get someone like Larry Allen
Nobody mentioned the for sure injury he saved Troy Aikman if LA don’t make tackle he’s done with Connor going full speed and Troy at a bad angle RIP LEGEND

Big cat need more Lineman like him
Larry was a Straight Beast ! Then he had to deal with the Antics of my Homeboy Mike Irvin . 🫣🫣🫣🫣
NATE...WE LOOSING OUR BIG MEN...
COWBOYS..4..LIFE😮
Emmitt smith was lucky to run behind that group. They were so dominant it kinda takes away from smiths status as the greatest back of all time.
Not really. He led the league in rushing yards before Allen arrived and when Eric Williams was a rookie fighting for a starting spot. He moved Greg Lloyd like was nothing and Lloyd was a monster…….

All of Emmitt Smith runs were behind Larry Allen because Dallas knew Larry was going to knock the defender down if not out

He could also out run most guys on the team.

Larry Allen play week 18 Who Dat
How many favorite cowboys can we have?
He should have been outlawed. That is a shame they let him play in the nfl. He couldve seriously hurt someone.
They don't make cowboys like this anymore. These cowboys played with heart and hard every game.
Now that is a true Beast!
