Fun facts about the STG 44: It is 1 out of 2 guns that had the Vampir kit attached to it. The Vampir kit was the world’s first night vision scope. It had 3 different magazine sizes. The regular 30 bullets, the rare box magazine that could fit 70 rounds but only 65 rounds were put into them, and the mounted magazine that held 200 bullets with only one made. There were crazy plans to have the mounted STG 44 replace the FG-42. All bullets for the STG 44 were made out of Steel and use no nickel or copper. It cost about $300 to make one. There were blueprints designs to put a grenade launcher on it. There were 2 different silencers made for it but only the one made specifically for the SS were made. Out of all full auto guns in Nazi Germany, it had the least bullet jams in service. There were plans to make a double magazine where two magazine were attached to each other upside down. The idea was for quick reloading and easier carry. Mikhail Kalashnikov said he used the STG 44 and FG 42 design to give him ideas when he created the AK 47. There are over 6 copy cats of the STG 44 made by 6 other countries than Germany. There are two places on the gun to be used beside holding the gun. There is a bottle opener and a port to break you finishing cigarette. It is the only Gun that has 3 different guides on how to use, fix, clean, and store the gun. Lastly, there is a STG completely made out of Silver, Gold, and platinum. The 3 guns do work and were used to kill Soviets. The Silver and gold guns are in the WW2 museum in Berlin, Germany today. The platinum is in the WW2 museum in Moscow, Russia.
I prefer to go Left, then all down the right tree on the STG-44's specializations. But honestly, the STG-44 from the get go was semi flawed in the final release. In the beta, it was OP as shit, but now it's kinda... meh. I'll explain... 600 rpm, at medium to short range the STG 1-5 is more or less a better gun. They have identical stats just about but with the 1-5 having a higher ROF, which equates to better kill times in those distances. It can reload quicker too, but it also has a better Red Dot/Reflex sight, more open view. At longer distances, both guns can go into semi auto which will make landing hits easier. But generally at longer ranges, the Ribeyrolles is a much better gun, up close it's not slacking too far behind the STG-44 and while having less ammo it is no less of an effective option. The 1907 SF is really mostly only good close up and so the STG-44 is more well rounded by comparison to it. But comparing it to other options in the Assault Class as a whole, the STG-44 vs say the M1 Carbine, the M1 generally dominates it outside of point blank ranges. I feel like DICE made the STG-44 too similar to the STG 1-5 to a point that sometimes it's not worth picking the STG-44 over it. Frankly... the STG 1-5 should never have been in the game.
One of my favorite ww2 weapons can blame cod:waw for that stg44 + flash hider/suppressor was amazing AKA "the squeak of death" based on the sound it made :D
I haven't played with this weapon since I finished its mastery assignments back in December, but I think I mostly used the right side. I liked being able to shoot with greater accuracy from range as opposed to closing to hip-fire distance as often. I think I might rethink that now, as I have gotten more aggressive with gameplay style since.
I always find it amazing how people are accurate with this thing. It's one of the hardest guns for me to use, it just kicks everywhere and im so terrible at controlling it! Ribeyrolles i can handle
Schmeisser had nothing to do with the StG, though it's a common misconception. Schmeisser worked for Mauser, and designed the MP-28 which would though ERMA and Vollmer eventually evolve into the MP 40. That gun is also sometimes called a Schmeisser even though the only direct link is the patent for the magazine. The StG is a combination of the overall design of the Haenel MKb-42(h) with the closed bolt and hammer mechanism of the Walther MKb-42(w).
Very versatile gun and this weapon has a high recoil just like Volkstrumgewehr 1-5 but the first assault rifle would have been the Russian Fedorov Avtomat since it's better suited for the Arctic Circle something that this Stg-44 would freeze up. For that battlefield one Russian assault rifle last recorded use in World War II it's in the Arctic Circle since there is a US government footage provided by the Russians in 1943
The Russian Fedorov Avtomat isn't an assault rifle its an automatic rifle as the cartidge it fires is to large for an assalt rifle at 50mm inline with current main battle rifles of the time. Ingame its actually a very close match to its RL use, and performs well in most circumstances.
the stg currently seems to have a bug where if you choose to have the ported barrel path then choose custom stock, ported barrel doesn't work most of the time, and it needs recoil buffer to work - this greatly reduces the overall precision of the gun if you're like me and picked that path for most of the duration of your play with the gun and using both (ported barrel + recoil buffer) turns this gun in a weapon capable of full-auto killing enemies at mid-long ranges even with a 3x i hope the bug gets fixed soon though cause i would prefer custom stock over reduced vertical recoil with this gun
IDK how I feel about this gun sometimes it feels like I'm cheesing the enemy other times it feels so weak and enemies need an extra shot or two to finish off. Idk
Fire in bursts at distance, try to aim just below the neck and the recoil should pull you to the headshot. Best way to get used to the recoil is using the gun in practice range. Once you get used to it you'll be able to handle the recoil without thinking about it
*Stats Changes - Update 6.2:* Min Dmg 15 (4-7 shots) [Everything else unchanged]
Didn't they hotfix it back to a 4 shot kill?
Yep
The most versatile gun in the entire game in my humble opinion
Ribeyrolles is more veratile IMO. STGs first shot multiplyer and faster ROF can really hinder it's use at longer ranges.
@@lukasbrucas3027 if you can control recoil stg beats ribey 9/10 times.

It was actually put into service late 1942 under the name Mkbz.42 or something like that
Maschinenkarabiner-42 (MKb-42). Two variants existed: Walther and Haenel. The MKb-42 was the basis for the StG 44.
Ah, the PTSD-44. Best versatile gun ever and overused.
Great video, thank you Kris! I'm also using the left side tree, really nice to hip fire with the STG 44 - it's super accurate.

Just getting into bf5 now, Your video format is awsome. A pinch of history is well appreciated, as it's much lacking in the game descriptions.

This is going to be a good one.
It's better off specialized for precision. I use R-R-R-L. 3x scope all the way.
This is a really good gun with the right attachments I've gotten kills halfway across the map with this on dumb snipers
They added it this early but they didn't add the panzershreck.

People say this gun gives them PTSD in Battlefield 5. I got PTSD of this gun from a free to play WW2 game called Heroes and Generals.
