As another suggestion for a legacy game that doesn't ruin the board (because aha! it doesn't have a board!), I would recommend Dorfromantik. If you haven't played it - it's based on a tile-laying video game where you lay out hexagonal pieces and try and match their edges to create clusters of little villages, fields, forests or rivers and railways. It's incredibly satisfying as both its videogame version and its board game adaptation; in fact I'd recommend both! In the video game, completing a cluster task gives you more tiles and generates more cluster tasks for you to complete and get more tiles...and so on. The game lasts for as long as you're able to complete tasks. In the board game, however, the issue of finite number of tiles in the box is resolved by instead 'unlocking' new tiles based on the final score of each game. You start off with a fairly barebones set of tiles and gradually acquire some hefty scorers. The fact that it's a co-op game makes it even more satisfying. And the best part? Once you complete a campaign (which is going to take you a while based on our experience!), you can just pop all unlocked pieces back into their respective boxes and start over. Nothing is ruined, nothing is spoiled. Otherwise we have acquired quite a few new games over the last three months and those have fully dominated our current preferences at the expense of my favourite Everdell which I'm starting to miss. Oh and if you have played Dorfromantik - sorry for the long comment!
Another great video! I love your voice (both the attitude with which you express yourself, and the actual sound that comes out of your mouth) I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s familiar to me. Anyhow, keep ‘em coming!
For us, we just have a LOT of games so naturally they don't all get to the table all the time even if we love them. I think this inspired us to do our own list of games we want to get back to the table...
Ya'll are going to have to exercise more restraint than we did: you have a lot more games!😁 Adding a time period, like "this summer" helps keep that "want-to-replay" list manageable😉
Funnily enough, we have been playing so much Lost Ruins of Arnak lately because I picked up The Missing Expedition expansion for it because it was on sale a few months and my husband said, why don't we play this? Turns out, it is a co-op story expansion so we work as a team to accomplish whatever the chapter goal. We just completed chapter 4 last night, which was some miracle because I thought for sure we were going to get slaughtered, but we persevered over in-game antagonist Antoinette. I think there are 2 or 3 more chapters so looking forward to doing those and we don't have any social plans so it can live on the dining room table for a spell. As for other games I want to play this Summer, I really wanna play Lords of Vegas which I've had for ages and haven't played in a while and Three Sisters which I just got and really wanna try. Another great video! And fun to have some input from Robert. It's actually a great bit that he is not on camera, like some great sitcom characters like Maris in Frasier or Binny in Just Shoot Me. Hope your summer continues to be great!
@@teaNgames It is replayable. It doesn't have you destroy anything and there is a book that tells you how to set up each chapter and what you need. If you finish the whole campaign and then combine it with base game, it shouldn't be too difficult to sort out the bits you need to play it again in the future. Especially since you can replay as characters from the leaders expansion which we don't have yet.
Aren't we lucky to get two videos this week! I'm very interested in the new version of Trekking the World because I love Trekking Through History. Then again, maybe it's not necessary to have both? Trekking Through History is one I want to play more of this summer. Others on my list would be: Unfair, Atlantis Rising, and Pursuit of Happiness. Pretty much all of my games could make that list though because I try and only keep games I love in my collection and I always want to play them more LOL
Yeah, that's the problem with a curated collection; you want to play them all, all the time🤣 I've never played Trekking through History. I think gameplay is different from Trekking the World, but I'm not absolutely sure, especially with the 2nd edition in the works🤷♀️ I've heard so many people say they like Pursuit of Happiness that I think I should probably look into it. I played Life a bunch of times as a kid because a friend had gotten the game, but it wasn't enjoyable. I've heard that Pursuit of Happiness is like Life, only *good*. I need to get over my aversion to Life and try Happiness🤣🤣🤣😉
@@teaNgames I would definitely recommend checking out Pursuit of Happiness if you get the chance, but then again I loved Life growing up. LOL! Looking back now though, I think it was the theme that I enjoyed in Life and the "roleplaying" aspect of it, NOT the mechanics. The theme is definitely where Pursuit of Happiness draws from Life. However, the mechanics are very different and serve the theme way better in my opinion!

I've heard of Dorfromantic, but I didn't realize that it was either legacy or co-op! Thanks for clue-ing me in!🎉
You sounded like an evil scientist at the beginning! I was a little worried 😅😅😅 Great list!!
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks!

Oooo...The Missing Expedition sounds like something we'd like! Is it replayable?

@JymmiF That sounds good! I'll look into it --- Thanks!🎉
