- Опубликовано: 27 янв 2025
- Video shows side by side comparison of the before and after application of Spectracide Grass & Weed Killer. I'll demonstrate what works and tips for better results with this 3 day test with time lapse photography.
The weeds tested are St. Augustine Grass which is very tough and hard to kill. It sends runners out everywhere, even on top of the weed cloth. This weed can quickly overtake a yard if not controlled.

Fyi: That's Bermuda grass NOT St. Augustine grass.
Could be... we were told by a landscaper. Thanks.
Definitely Bermuda!
Yeah Bermuda is some nasty stuff. I feel like they will never truly do away.
100% Bermudagrass

When should you apply the second application? I applied the first application on Saturday and started seeing results. But I still see some of the major big weeds that are grown still kind of striving. Should I put another application on them? Also what do you do after they start dying should I just pull them out or mowing the lawn will take care of it?
As I recall the second application was a few days later. I re-applied to any hot spots as soon as I saw any new growth. You can just leave the dying weeds and till them into the soil or mulch them with your lawn mower. The manufacturer recommends waiting once week past the last application prior to tilling.
How safe this is around pets? How long needs to wait after treatment?
Hazardous to pets and humans. Need to take precautions and use ppe.
@@SmartPennyPincher Appreciate it. Saw the weeds starting to die since the first application a week ago. So going to apply a second application this week I heard it's good to wet the lawn before applying it rained yesterday so going to apply today and see over the week if it's more effective.
He doesn’t know pimp ,
He just was testing the product , he’s not an expert on herbicides & plants .
I'm wondering if this kills plans in the flower bed? Because I have grass all over it.
It will but you will have to be careful to avoid overspray onto the flowers.
Hey man nice video! Would you say 2 water before you apply weed killer?
Yes it helps to do it before .
Thank you very much for the reply.
Why not Glyphosphate?
It's a controversial subject but there is evidence of safety issues. You might find this video interesting ruclips.net/video/JszHrMZ7dx4/видео.html
How much quantity, that we need for 20 liters water?
Its about 1.3oz/liter so for 20 you need 26.5 oz
Just want to say that this stuff does not last as long as it says. It's only been three weeks since I used this product & the weeds are have mostly turned back green & growing already. It says it lasts 12 months, but I can clearly see that that's not true at all. I even added more to the mix than instructed to do, but that didn't even help. My mom always said, just leave well enough alone, & that's exactly what I should have done. Just stuck to the Round Up that I have been using for years. But like it's always been said, you get what you pay for. Go cheap, get cheap results! I just don' believe that it's killing the root, otherwise the weeds wouldn't be growing back that fast. And that's all I have to say about that!
Definitely not St Augustine
I thought the same thing, looks more like Bermuda. Still a pain to get rid of.
When using this product, wear long-sleeved shirt, long pants, socks, shoes and rubber gloves.
Good advice
Or you can just shower after.
You should be wearing gloves, especially if you are worried about glyphosate which is less toxic than the ingredients in spectracide.
Yes PPE is important
