The shop life videos are the best by far!!!. Keep em coming!
You will have to have your nephew do a older Merc oil injection pump drive gear replacement, lol.Def dont teach that particular job at school. That was a fairly common in the old days Andy.not sure how many of those you guys saw up there, but i can remember several over the years.Keep up the good work fellas,i enjoy the shop life stuff.i was actually wearing my team marine hat today wrenching on a Honda Motorcycle engine. One of our local lakes(largest in the state of illinois)is a army corp of engineers lake that is notoriously shallow and filled with sand bars and and a huge stump feild on the north end so we would get alota lower unit repairs, tons of water pump jobs and enough damaged propellers to keep our propeller biz fairly busy, especially during duck season when lake was drawn down to the winter pool levels.(it was built by corps as a flood control lake in the early 60's).With all that said i still kinda miss the old shop some days, just dont miss the stress and being semi-retired has worked out nicely for this old Tech,peace...
Great video, but I can't imagine leaving that prop on there and running it like that!
MORE OF THIS!!! Loved it Andy
Please do more of these 👊💪
That was a different video and it was cool to see what the guys see come in and how they fix it.
Really like these shop.videos
In depth on how you can F UP an engine quick. But most of us already knew that. Thx Andy.
You have a good staff, cool video
Great video, need more.
Good job guy's. Don’t have the problem's here in MT.
Thank you that was educational !!
Good to know!
Another great video by you guys. You guys are awesome 😎
Enjoyed that.
Put impeller in housing first. Point keyway forward with shaft. Keyway groove in impeller also forward...then your gaskets won't spin around on you like that
good stuff
Just getting in to the field🫡love these type of videos🙏🏽
more of these videos pls
Calling minn kota - just need some glue and hope she’s all good 😂
Let's Get it Guys
I see you touched on the slimy oil. Just happened to me with my optimax. Would love to see a video on this issue why this happens and oil options. Really turned me off the opti oil and no solution from mercury on this
More of these. I don’t know why I like these shop videos so much but I do
Do more of these vids 🤘🏻
I had an Opti max that I got the oil container too low on oil, quit pushing it up to the tank on the motor, wish I had seen this video then, I might have been able to fix it myself.
Wish you were closer.
Where ya located Steve?
Since you mentioned the exhaust sprayers that cool the midsection, do you want to revisit and edit the short video that was put out some time ago that was titled mercury V8 zip tie edition cause it looks to me that it was the sprayers doing their job and not all the leaks that the video describes..i am also a mercury tech..
Im about to fire up the 96 200 johnson. Ive 6 carb rebild kits coming. I imagine with 5 leaking it is a beast with no prblems. With all 6 feeding the basterd...throw the fire extinguisher exextinguisher out and grab a life jacket
Not using alignment pins on the water pump housing ?
Do more videos like this one
Kidney stones in the merc
what school did he go to. Go to Mcfatter Technical in Davie Florida. You'll learn it lol
Why no power tools
Tell the Texas kid to unbolt the mercury and put a Yamaha or a Suzuki on it, Saves a lot of time in the long run.😂😂
Invoice balance on that job ?
We can dig it up for ya
Man, these shop videos are the best (don’t get me wrong, I love when ya shit on mercury, well, cuz they suck. Hell, everything white river sucks, how do ya fuck ranger up? I dunno either but damn, here we are.) anyhow, keep em coming.
Really wish you guys had a shop near me in the Pacific Northwest! Can't find anyone around here that isn't going to fuck up my boat when I need work or riggin done to it. Can't stand INCOMPETENT, STUPID people. Have a great day guys!
Good bad ugly mercury pro XB !?
Shop life is by far the best videos you guys do. Would love to see more of the day to day hands on stuff. Great video from a fellow boat lover and mechanic!
Thanks buddy 👍
Andy thank you for passing on your knowledge to the next generation
That’s the videos I love to see. Don’t get me wrong about all the new stuff out there but the average guy can’t afford it. We just want to maintain what we got and make sure we can get out there and back. More videos like this would be great love the channel
Would be interesting to remove the lowest core plug on the cylinder block and bore scope the cooling jacket to fully understand the cleanliness of the casting.
Love the shop life episodes! Great information for those of us who care about the what and why of the outboard world! 👍🏻
If it ain’t a Yamaha sho it ain’t nothing!
Love this type of video. Real live!
Great video Great information. Thank you. Bassmd
I wonder if adding a good shot of Dawn dish soap into the end of the garden hose before screwing it onto the muffs would help separate and reduce friction between the sand particles making them slicker than greased owl sh-t and flushing out easier?
04 mercury 150 EFI 2 stroke. I’m on my second starter it lasted about three runs and boom bad again wtf. Any ideas ?
Good info Jackson on the water coming from the bottom of the motor
Faster to back it back in the water at the ramp than to take the lower unit on and off multiple times. remove the thermostat back it in the water and give it the beans. Reinstall thermostat, lake test
Do show to much boys!!! got bills to pay
I like the shop work videos. I work on my own when I can. So any shop tips help.
Loved this video. A little bit different awesome.
Good one, I've never done that. But now I know
Very informative video.
Now do a shop life on a Force outboard! 😂

Give it an enema with the pressure washer wand !
