Simone and Laura’s clashing aesthetic sensibilities make for a very funny collaboration.
Laura and Simone are two of my favorite makers. Separately, each is a lot of fun to watch. Together, they are hysterical.

As someone who has a very hard time with making mistakes, Laura's comment about how you are enjoying what you are doing even if it is wrong is very inspiring.
As a wise person once said, "even a step backwards is still counted by my step counter, so it's still a step" (I'm paraphrasing).
Often people have a hard time admitting they don’t like something after spending a long time on it. If you don’t like it you don’t like it. Sometimes starting over is just part of the process.
Honestly really love how they showed the failure, them taking the night off, and what went wrong when they came back.
Laura and Simone laughing their asses off will always cheer me up.

It's funny how Laura's go to fix is something aluminium, and Simone always goes with something impromptu. The finish result always end up with that Laura/Simone charm.

I am always impressed at what you're both able to create together.
I mean that both because you spend most of the time trying to stop laughing while grounding one another and also because what you make ends up amazing and not something anybody else could have done. Simone brings the stray thought threads that Laura will reel in hand over hand, great combination!
Laura, you HAVE to make an actual art installation of the consumer reflection shopping bag...

I watch every video you two make seperately and enjoy them immensly , but it has to be said your collaborations are always wonderfully special .. I remember back when Laura first met Simone on her visit to germany.. in that very first collab video you can see the friendship blossom, the way you lovingly tease each other for laughs is just adorable ... and then the giggles hit, and its game over for a few moments till you recover... I really need to find the Savage builds episode you were both in as I haven't seen it yet.
Here's hoping for many more collabs .. maybe a series .. Then a movie ... an animated series ... Breakfast cereal...;)

I'll be honest, I liked Simone's inserts idea, but it's great that you found something you liked better. Maybe you can cover the worst mirror imperfections with some design element, like some vinyl stencil or paint. I loved that you reused the mirror.
And if the neon curve ever gets stale, maybe add more neon? Or an old translucent milk glass sign in front of the current neon so it’s still a light source but the shape is muted.
You only realize how much of a badass Laura is when she works with other people; Love your videos!
I love the collab episodes! It’s the pure joy of hanging out with and building stuff with friends.
Paint stuff on the mirror!! You can cover the stains and make it more artsy... But then it might look even more like a shopping bag. It's so fun though, and like you said, it's a friendship memory, so imperfections are okay!!

i'd be tempted to put some clear Perspex around the neon on the inside of the cabinet, to protect from accidental damage.

I love the "shopping bag" aesthetic, even if to me felt like a very classic-movie futuristic antenna that glows in the dark.
Also, I'm ALWAYS thrilled when there's a dive into Laura's neon light collection. There's absolutely everything in there. I wonder if changing that U shape with something with a little bit of a spiral on top of the mirror would make it more retro-futuristic or something...
I now find myself requiring a unicorn neon mirror cabinet build by Laura and Simone.

Laura and Simone should make a steam-punk wood-stave-barrel-artificial-lung with some of the scariest looking things a Frankenstein-Machine would have: big blacksmith-forge-billows, a flywheel, an air-compressor that looks like a miniature boiler-room, a fog-machine, arc-ladder, green-lava-lamp, iron-bands; steam-punk iron-lung project.

My favorite thing about all the mistakes is that when my daughter and I watch it she gets to see women making errors and still pushing forward and not giving up because they weren't perfect the first time. Not to mention having fun while creating something new.
I have to say that i did like how it looked like a briefcase!! however i guess you could put little trinkets or something on top to camouflage it a bit :)

I love how Simone stomped all over Adam Savage's shop aesthetic with "basic bitch IKEA cabinet."
For the record, I love the basic bitch cabinet aesthetic. It works. It doesn't pull focus from what's in the cabinet or from anything else in the shop. It provides ready access to what you're storing in it.
Ikeacore could be the next trendy aesthetic.
