Honestly I think rockin a Tisa hat rn would be super sick. These things are so iconic, & I haven’t seen anyone with one on for at least 8 years. Yk what, I’m gonna get myself one😅
Just wait bro… all the Tisa stuff is going to eventually make a comeback. People forget that Taz Arnold was doing alot more than just putting out snapbacks and a few pieces of brand merch.
Just my 2 cents but Taz Arnold was doing ALOT more than just snapbacks or some brand merch. He actually was putting people onto vintage designer pieces and higher end vintage clothing from adidas, diadora, Pendleton, Benetton, polo, etc. He brought a lot of this stuff to the forefront of the mens fashion landscape and made it all popular to dress a certain way such as himself. Like nobody was wearing that stuff back then tbh. Not at that level besides maybe Ye. Y’all should really go peep some of his old interviews. He was good friends with Don C, Virgil Abloh, Kanye, any major name in fashion tbh. A very influential person in pop culture really. I just think we should all be showing more respect and appreciation to the guy but that’s just me.
Only problem was he was fucking the people over. Most people realize now what a waste of money ed hardy had the same story least ed hardy had more designs lol
I’m actually warring a vintage Tisa hat I found in my grandpas storage and restored, he said it sat there for 12 years so it was some work but I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
Obey and LK were always general release with no hype. They came at the tail end of the big street wear hype era. “Swag Era” Supreme, Stussy, TI$A, 10 DEEP, The Hundreds, Crooks, Diamond, BBC, Ice cream, Pink Dolphin, G-Shock, SB’s etc were the big boys in the game until most of them went complete general release killing their hype and exclusivity. Can’t forget camo shorts, chuck T’s, and vans too. Wild times. I remember kids stopping me in HS complementing me on all my Hundreds, 10 Deep, supreme, diamond, etc asking me where I got it and how much I paid and me and my boys would just laugh at these kids telling them to order all the shit online. This was before everything was general release and in every pacsun or zumies.
Def agree with entire vid. I remember TISA (TeeZah). It was everywhere for the celeb culture and def played off of hype and that’s it. They never reached the consumer on a relatable level and the product was costly like the Don C strap backs, but without the quality. Great Vid!
I'm going to be real, this video is more directed towards the brand Tisa, and really neglects to talk about the Brand's namesake Designer Taz Arnold. Between 05-12, Taz and his Group Sa-Ra were signed to Kanye's Good Music. Around the Myspace era Taz emerged to be the Biggest style star in the world. His dress code was and still is out of this world. He's more so known, for the infamous pics during 2009 fashion week, with Kanye, don c, Virgil, fonzworth Bentley, and Chris from fruition. After Kanye mentioned his name, in an article of complex in 07-06 as a fashion icon, everyone took notice. So When Taz capitalized on his success, started with a Tisa/mcm Collab, which fed the streets with the Tisa MCM jackets, fitted hats, belts and breifcases. Then came the snapback wave. What Taz was selling you, was his style and his child. Aside from the brand Tisa, Taz had cats in LA walking around rocking vintage Gucci loafers and breifcases. Everyone was tryna either own a piece of Tisa or Dress like Taz. The only thing that put a halt to Tisa, was the fact that Taz is a musician. Fashion is only one facet of bro. Dude is a whole producer(who got his start with Dr. Dre) along with being apart of a music Group. By 2012, Taz locked in with Kendrick Lemar, for his first album Good kid madd city. Taz's production is also on how to pimp a butterfly. So it's easy to see how his Brand took a backseat, to taz's music career. Can't front would have to seen what Tisa, could have become. He also did a Collab with Jacket maker Dr. Romenelli for exclusive Tisa biker jackets. What Taz's run taught, was how to brand yourself and capitalize off of what success, hype, or attention you have at the moment. 🔥🎩🚗👞 #FRESHANOMICZ #VINTAGESOULRADIO #LADYLBOUTIQUE #LDN
I just found 4 original tisa snapbacks at a thrift store and they still fetch a premium on ebay. At least I have more info now because of this video. Thanks
The snapback has declined drastically over the years, but when marketed correctly, there is a strong niche that still wears them faithfully. Regardless, it's obvious that this brand's intended focus was never creating anything other than a hype train.
@@briifitXCIII Snapbacks are an essential staple in my wardrobe to this day! Mitchell and Ness snapbacks have to be my favorite. I tried getting some OG Starter hats. The way they fit was just too small for my head. lol

I remember Tisa being hyped & dying out in 2012 at least where I live at. Like you said there was no creativity with the brand. Especially with the hats, not to mention that Mitchell & ness killed them easily by being a cheaper option, & we’re creative not only with their hats but also with their jerseys, many people still buy them till this day including myself. Great video!
