Masahiro Ito returns to the series, having previously worked on the first three installments as a core developer, as well as longtime series composer and sound designer Akira Yamaoka.

Not that i should have expected a groundbreaking storytelling out of a short free game but i dunno, guess what i'm trying to say the game story could have gone untold and nothing would've changed

The story lacks depth. Given that this game is supposed to be a teaser to a bigger project, it’s free and short, it’s not *that* bad. Still, the story is too straightforward. Visuals and overall vibe are great, soundtrack too.
Loved it! I thought it was a great “modern day” approach to the Silent Hill universe and themes. It did lack subtlety, especially at the beginning, but the game managed to subvert my expectations and it resonated with me on a very personal level. Overall, a great experience, especially free-to-play, which makes me think Konami really has an interesting vision for the franchise. Optimistic for future entries!
I liked it a lot. Sure, the story lacked subtlety, and the issues between Maya and Anita's mother felt like they didn't really go together that well, but I thought it still told an intriguing story. The Cherry Blossum monster representing Maya was a really neat touch too.
It's definitely an improvement when compared with Ascension, but it's still not quite there. Many of the lines of this games could have been delivered by enviromental storytelling instead of bad dialogue with cringe sound effects. I liked how the radio was adapted as the cell phone, but I did not like the digital effect in the player's camera throughout the game. I think It would been better to restrict it to the cellphone's screen instead. The monster's design is not what we would normally expect from the series, but Ito has stated that he only cane back because he wanted to create a "flowery horror" and it's important to refresh the games with new ideas from time to time. However, although the monster looks fine during great part of the game, he is contrasts a lot with the otherworld setting at the last chase. So I think a second monster or a new skin in the classic silent hill style would fit better. I also wasn't a great fan of the different frame rate effect that it has. Lastly, I absolutely hated the "Silent Hill" phenomenon explanation and the repetitive trigger warnings!
@vaporthebird214 I personally thought the monster was more her abusive mother , after the closet scene with her mum, if you get killed by the monster, she screams I sorry mum!

This one is alright and I understand if it speaks to many people, but just because it tackles depression it doesn't make it good immediately, it feels way too "not Silent Hill" and the one monster design needs to be just pushed a bit more, it feels like a first draft, however a lot of these could just be because its a free game soo..
I play silent hill 1, 3, origins and shattered memories it's a real nightmare game and addicting. 😢
As someone diagnosed with 2 forms of severe depression and daily thoughts of ending it... This game hit so hard. Literally crying rn.
Its not worth it to end ,even if it seems as a Resolution at some point.
You are just giving your pain to the ones who are left behind your friends and your family.
The end will come to all of us one day.
Try to find something that makes you a little bit happy.
Life is ment to be lived,not to approved by others.
You dont need to prove anybody what you have acomplished or the reason why you are like you are.
Life is just life.
Maybe try going to the gym or religion spirtulity.
That worked for me.

Anyone who shares an interest or love of Silent Hill is always welcome in my book. Stay up, I’m rooting for you to overcome anything in your path.
I never went to therapy or seek help from professionals, but I was betrayed and excluded by friends and my boyfriend as they said that I was weird. I wanted a good, and a healthy outdoor active life; my friends were bunch of gamers that only wanted to shut themselves in their rooms all day every day. Every time I asked them to hang out with me in the days, they'd either sleep or say no bc they'd be sleeping. It got bad until 1 month before I broke up with my boyfriend, which he was also one of the members in the friend group. I was at the lowest in life, starved myself for days, lost interest of life and everything around me, until one day I woke up and said I'm sick of feeling this down. I found it exhausting, like EXTREMELY exhausting to even breathe every day, but this never happened to me when I was younger. I remember the goals and dreams that I had when I was young, the reason why I'd put myself this low in life. 1 month later, I broke up with the boyfriend and cut myself off from the toxic group of friends. This was 2 years ago, and I feel better and better in life. I have energy to do what I want everyday, and I feel good. I work full time, go to school full time, and still have time to hang out at night with family and on my own. Remember that the happiness you're seeking is found within you, and nobody else can take or give it to you. Find your purpose, or try to remember your past purposes, and don't let shitters fk with your life. With purpose, you will go places.

This game reminds me of the videogame The town of light for some reason. They're both psychological horror games, both have a young woman with mental trauma as the main character. The overall theme of The town of light was it's set a hundred years ago when people with mental illnesses were given labotomies and sh1t, so that's definitely different. But the general feel is similar for some reason.
My husband and I really enjoyed this game. We actually laughed and said we'd have paid 5$ for it.
Now, is it perfect? No. But I thought it was a great showcase of how Silent Hill can still be successful.

why Konami launch these kind of game all of the sudden? Ascension and now this i really don't get it what they're thinking when everyone it's waiting for silent hill 2 remake dated realise🤦🏻
The games are probably to keep everyone at bay while they finish silent hill 2 remake so that when they do announce the release date it will be two weeks minimum for it to release. Also I think that they are doing this so that they release the worst game first then work their way up to the best which will probably be f. And clearly silent hill ascension is the worst and is also the one they released first to get it over with.

This game has nothing to do with Silent Hill. At the moment when Heather prevented the birth of God and disappeared to who knows where, there is no more Silent hill, because there is no more God. The Order is already practically destroyed. Other world no longer exists, because it was the world of Alessa's nightmares, and from that, in the form of Heather, she is a person like any other. The last attempt to revive the series was the fourth part, but it was desperately bad compared to the previous three. The only part that can be considered good after the third part was Silent Hill Homecoming.
This game is just some horror story nothing more. Every element from the origin SH games is missing here...
that is wrong, silent hill can exist without alessa, as the room and silent hill 2 were showing. and it existed before god was born. as it is a place where the wall between dimension is thin and psyche is creating reality
@@cwpv2477 No one knows exactly what year SH2 took place, but I think it was probably sometime in the 90's and that was after SH1. The God was still alive in that year, or was still in the form of an embryo...

The Room is not in Silent Hill location, there is no Fog dimension and there is no Other world dimension (in SH4 rather spiritual world) and other typical SH aspects. It's just a game about one madman who traps a group of people as part of his ritual in his apartments isolated from the world to gradually sacrifice them to achieve his insane goal.
The only things SH4 has in common with Silent hill is that Ashfield is half a day's drive away and Walter Sulliven was raised by he Order and he knew Dahlia. That's damn little...
The name for this game should be: Ashfield The Room, it would be more accurate. 😀 For me Silent hill ended by SH3, The God is dead Heather/Alessa is free, there is no reason for another part... But I think you are right about spiritual power of the town. It can exist without Alessa, but SH4 is not evidence for it...
