    Those pocket holes will gather water... Would have been preferable to put the underneath... Otherwise, solid build. Congratulations

    I’m also wondering about the side-to-side stability. The front-to-back stability is covered by the 2x4 braces, but all that’s preventing this from collapsing sideways is a few screws. Now that you’ve had this for a while, how’s it holding up? (Maybe I just overbuild everything…)

    • @cgwoodworks1861
      @cgwoodworks1861  2 года назад +3

      There are actually more than 25 screws and they all play a part in holding it in place. For additional reinforcement you can add glue to each joint👍

    Nice build! Have you gotten any side-to-side wobble since you built and used this? What about weathering/warping? Thanks for the vid!

      Hey John thanks for the comment. No side to side wobble and it was painted after the fact, that helped out with weather proofing 👍

    Nicely done!
    But I was wondering, would using a 2×2 post instead of the 4×4 make the construction significantly less sturdy? Of course, provided the flange fits on a 2×2.
    Thanks.

      Hey Shiv! Yes that would work just fine as long as your not to heavy:)

    Would using a 48” pipe and threading it through the 4x4s with the flanges on the outside impact the sturdiness due to the added width?

    • @cgwoodworks1861

    Why did you countersink holes on the bottom of each brace? Did you drill screws upward into the vertical 4 x 4's?

    Great work man! Up to how many lbs can the pullup bar hold?

    • @cgwoodworks1861
      @cgwoodworks1861  3 года назад

      Thank you. I’d say easily 300lbs. If you bolt the bar to the wood instead of using wood screws or may be closer to 500-600lbs
