    Like the nice short format!!! Almost think these could be broken up into 3 5 minute videos on each topic by themselves. For each topic it would have been interesting to see how each technique worked with different colors, specifically I'm thinking the metallic example here.

    Love this format for the tutorials would love to have more from you guys like this. I have actively avoided the transparent paints just because I was not sure how to use them. Now it’s going to be hard to pick between the transparent and the fluorescent for my next purchase lol.

    As I recall all of these are single pigment as well, so they mix together very smoothly and easily.

    • @MonumentHobbies

      It's meant as a mixer for the other transparents, to lighten them to achieve any color, as well as a great way to do effects like OSL, and other lighting, where you need to do that slight brightening of the surface that a normal white would blow out.

    I've been thinking about buying these for a while. One question I have is how do they behave when you put them through an airbrush? And I guess the followup would be - how do you best prep them to use them that way?

    Ahhh, I see a lot of pro acryl tutorial add transparent paint, but still wonder what will they do in my paint job.
    Now I guess it is some paint like contrast and glaze paint.
    Maybe a full paint guide video will be more easy to so what and why we need these paint.

    How can you use transparent white? Given the typical properties of white, I'm wondering how it behaves in the techniques you showed here. I have some Liquitex Titanium White acrylic ink, but I use it mainly for zenithal through the airbrush... is there something I'm missing?

    So this is nice and all, but I'd consider this a medium level video, I'd actually love a true beginner level. I think that would get more people interested in how you used these. I know I wouldn't have even had an idea how to repeat what you did even a year ago, and even now I think I understand but haven't done it myself, and I'm sure there are tons more like me.

  • @spuriusligustinus4509
    @spuriusligustinus4509 4 месяца назад

    Can you cover a way to avoid or "repair" the paint that gets "stuck" in the cap of the pot and becomes "pasty" with time.
    I have this problem with almost all of the paints after a while but particularly the transparent.
    A thorough shake and even a Vortex mixer doesn't the issue.
    The paints are still usable but you run the risk of pressing too much and then shoot the paste and then the paint and wasting it since it's too much

    • @MonumentHobbies
      @MonumentHobbies  4 месяца назад

      This only happens when you leave the twist open, so make sure to close after every use all the way. You can pull the twist section off and then poke out any thicker paint with a toothpick easily if needed, but should be easy to avoid by just closing them tightly each time.

    I feel like the metallic show off didn't go as well as anticipated. I just ended up being a metallic red paint, which you can do with standard red and standard metallic paint- or any one of dozens of colored metallic paints on the market.
    I was really hoping it was going to show how to take your metallics to the next level by shading using the transparents rather than a standard wash. But alas.

    • @MonumentHobbies
      @MonumentHobbies  3 месяца назад +1

      These are just the tip of the iceberg as an intro to the paints. Transparents and metallic medium just do it better. You can then mix and shade however you like.

    Why use so much paint? That was 8 drops of green and 8 drops of medium when you probably could have covered everything with 1 drop of each.
