Hi very good and Interesting video. Just a quick question am very new to airbrushing am trying to do a portrait but always end up going to dark even though I start very light.could that be be because I am using transparent paints.its a grey colour.thanks keep up the good work u do an excellent job.take care.
Interesting. I am curious now to how colors will look with the clear base coat added to them. Like this red now looks more pink than it would without base coat. Do you have a video showing how other colors look with base coat formula mixed in the paint?
In someone elses tutorial he mentioned that you can make a transparent into opaque by adding white. He didnt go into detail about whether white he added was opaque white. Me being new didnt really get that concept. Plus wouldnt added white change the base color?. Thx sorry if dumb question. Still obsorbing this stuff. Havent event painted yet just want to better understand. Been learning alot from you. Definately my favorite to watch.
Very helpful. It's hard to find solid information on airbrushing opaque vs transparent. As compared to say a paint roller on a wall, where you always paint an opaque color, I get the idea that with an airbrush, we think about misting in the paint slowly, which gives better control and smoother results. Wouldn't this apply to opaque airbrushing too? Is there a place for putting down light coats of opaque to get a subtle result, or with opaque paint, would we generally be trying to achieve an opaque result, as dark as the paint tone allows?
Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video, misting opaque colours can be done however generally you would work the opaque colour to its full strength and then you would use transparent on top to shade and change the hue of the base colour. The only time I can think of opaque being misted over opaque would be if you painted a black base and you wanted a silver shimmer you would then dust a few light coats of silver to get that ‘metallic’ flip over your black 👍🏻
i have a question first i so love you videos watch them every freetime i get my question do you know how to make homemade transparent paint i make my paints from cheap acrylics with all my extra was wondering if i can make a set of transparents???
This is a great video! But don't forget about the blue shift when adding opaque lighter values over another color. It used to drive me crazy until I learned how to deal with it.

Hello , so for starting off as a new student we would want to use acrylic paint for painting pics on canvases?
i have a question first i so love you videos watch them every freetime i get my question do you know how to make homemade transparent paint i make my paints from cheap acrylics with all my extra was wondering if i can make a set of transparents???

Thank you for clearing this question I had
Thank you!
You're welcome!
if I was using it to say distress clothing for a costume. would I use transparent or opaque if wanted natural looking staining?
Do you make your own airbrush cleaner and paint thinner? Or do you use name brands? You should make a video about it.
Many thanks for that interesting demo.
Can I mix opaque paint with transparet paint and get good results or should I avoid that?
What psi do you have it on?
