Can't wait to get my detailing station setup. 🤪 A video like this will make life much better vs. Guessing! Used airbrushes over 40+ years ago. Wasn't horrible at it, but that was 40 years ago as a teen!

Awesome video. This is also me. Both times I used the airbrush, I fkd up badly lol but watched RUclips vids on stripping the air brush down & cleaning it.
I used a liquitex ink thinned down, thinking it would be ok. It stuck to everything in the airbrush, blocked it, everything. Had to strip down & clean the brush twice. Twice because the nozzle got blocked & took a little tiny pointy thing to loosen up the paint to clean it. 2nd time after cleaning that bit of paint spat out with the cleaner.
These are definitely the best airbrushing videos I've watched.
I've watched dozens of videos in the last few weeks & still made the noob mistakes.

Excellent compilation of "oh no, oh my god"!!! Loving it - especially with the UK accent.😅😅😅 11:45
Additional beginners problem: Overthinking, overlearning, overanalyzing and not practicing enough because there is "yet more info to suck up before I do something wrong" (it's me). The advantage is, that I know most of what to do/not to do, but I lack the mileage. It keeps you from being frustrated, BUT it leaves a feeling of being lazy.

Takes me back a bit. Experienced most of these at one point or another.
Everyone tends to make it look easy on youtube and often dont talk through the thinking process of how to troubleshoot all the common issues.
One thing i can think of that maybe got overlooked is moisture in the line. running those beginner compressors to hot and too long will inevitably lead to spitting moisture and ruining your work, particularly when the humidity is high in your local weather. The models with tanks help, but dont eliminate it. Understanding that its cus the compressor is too hot and needing to take a break so it can cool off.
And even knowing to drain the tank of the moisture now and then can get overlooked.

I'm just starting with an iwata revolution airbrush but I've watched videos for a long time. For a compressor I have an 8 gallon shop compressor 1/4 size hose 50 feet with mechanical fittings. If you fill it up and turn it off than the compressor will not come on at all. The in line pressure guage and moisture trap which actually is not necessary but the iwata air cable is 1/8 but it screws into a 1/4 on the attached end.

Dunno how good the idea is but color dye for food seems like a good way to start, I started with both food coloring dye and createx. Still very early days for me. Thanks for the vids. I flush the paint cup with regular water, then dump it all out (no spray), dump in some cleaner back bubble and dump x2 then spray. After watching many of these videos I always try to keep the brush clean. Dunno if it's a good idea but I've been trying to thin and lower pressure at the same time to see where I get. Only with createx and food coloring. I always try to over thin and to under pressure. Hardest part is finding the right medium. A3-4 doesn't live here. I could pay alot to get some. Only other option seems to be to make my own canvas and use gesso . The "shop" set up is just on par if not above in trying to work out what set works best. Will prolly DIY my own eisle. Thanks to you for providing information in a hobby that is kind of off the trail. ( not a common hobby). After watching alot of videos on the subject I'm at the conclusion that you need a good medium to paint on. good paint to paint with and a place that allows you to paint. I wish more air brusher told us about their color change, dilution , their thoughts of how they do things esp setup and thought process. Dunno if I missed something but it's something I do and that's thin and thin some more. These are the very very early days with me and a brush but I wanna see the spectrum. ( thic vs thin) (no spray is no paint) air =all =always

The worst paint I've ever used was Citadel "Air" paint, I even watched a tutorial on tips on how to use it, after I followed it, and after, I almost wanted to throw the airbrush through the window, the guy was like: "Just crank the pressure up to 30, no thinning needed!".
