What an awesome comparison, would've never made that connect. Wish like heII LRB had hired an attorney back then, and had all the legal docs done up so that they each had part ownership of LRB, instead of NOBODY having ownership!! How annoying. Today if you see LRB Live, NONE of the guys in this video are part of the band...that is pure craziness!! Usually the Guitarist or Singer has control of a band, but not in this case. A good lesson to be learned...
God willing I will be seeing this band live in the beginning of 2024 at Harrah’s Cherokee casino and hotel. This will be one of my pleasures of life. Thank you Jesus for providing the money. I’m so grateful.
Save your money and go and see a real band rather than a poor American facsimile of what was one of the great AUSTRALIAN groups of all time. Wayne Nelson might think he is preserving Little River Band's legacy but true fans know exactly what he is doing.
I had the pleasure to get to know the band when I was working at Capitol Records in the mid to late 1970's. They had the best live harmonies of any band I ever heard. All really nice guys too.
The Hall is owned by a pretentious prick that doesn't even like Rock N Roll, and it is based on who pays the most money. That is why Rappers are in the hall but real Rock N Roll artists are kept out.
It was 1979. Headed to Navy Boot Camp Orlando Florida. Had to leave my girl behind. This song was at the top of the charts. Married her right after Boot Camp.
I am 64 years old now and had a collection of music from age 11 up until a devistating fire destroyed it in 2018, You could be in the mood for just about anything music wise and it was there. My heart hurts when I hear songs from my vast collection , can't replace over 50 years of collecting. Music was and is my passion. 😔
Thank goodness for RUclips. Even though it cannot replace the many years that you put into collecting so many songs, at least it allows for you to still be able to hear those songs at any time if that's any consolation.
Yes, thank the Lord, we are able to listen to any song we desire, at a mere tap on a screen! MY Beloved 70's music that I thought was gone, is filling my life with happiness forever! 😘🤗🥰
I saw the “Little River Band” in June 2022. Wayne Nelson and a bunch of talented musicians gave a good show which I enjoyed. HOWEVER, if they’re being honest, they should call themselves the ultimate LRB tribute band 🤷🏽♂️
You got to go to Australia to see them in person; they’re singing as Shorrock, Goble and Birtles. Thanks to some legal hanky panky, Wayne Nelson owns the Little River Band trademark. It sucks. I don’t like it, but there it is.
I remember buying this as a 45rpm record because I Absolutely Loved This Song To Death because that’s how I kind of felt as a pre-teenager growing up in grammar school and I took the record to the basement of our house and played it a few times and Still Love This Song All these Years Later ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Don’t Remember we’re that 45rpm ever went to (Lost in Time). This Band had quite a few Great Hit Songs and I Wish I Would Have Seen Them in Concert back in the day !!!
I remember listening to the Little River Band when I was growing and to this day, I still listen to them and all of their classic hit songs. I can not wait for them to keep making more albums for now on!!! Keep the great music coming LIttle River Band!!!!
They've had 3 great guitarists through their hit years -- Ric Formosa, David Briggs and Stephen Housden. It was Briggs who wrote this tune but he was not an original member.
In those days music truly had rhythm, melody and harmony!! The new generation just thinks beat, beat , beat !!! I commend parents who literally play this music to their young ones , hopefully teaching them what "real" music truly is!!!
There will never be another band like this to create great, tasteful music in the same way these guys did!! So much musical talent, and songwriting gifts in this band, that it can never be topped.
When I enjoy LRB the first track is this work of art! My recently departed older brother Michael A. Orosz introduced me at 12 yrs old. When remodeling our home in San Diego with our father Michael would crank this up on his stereo in his room and direct the loudspeakers into our neighborhood as we both worked. Our friendly neighbors enjoyed All of the wonderful sounds, he really turned it up. Thank you Michael with fond memories as young men together as brothers forever.❤
Another of those songs that I remember singing all the time back in the day but now I’m ancient and haven’t heard it in decades!! I had that radio on every minute I could steal 😊
How many here are aware this an Australian band. As an American expat having been living Down Under for a quarter of my life, it never ceases to amaze me some of the music I grew up with, was conceived on the other side of the planet.
I remember buying that cassette with the girl on the cover, and popping it into the tape player of my 1969 Mustang convertible, 302/4 spd stick......that thing would HAUL A## -from 70mph Anyway, back to my LRB story. I'm on the MASS-PIKE 90 heading East for my afternoon classes in Boston. Back then they had a Toll Booth, so you'd have to slow down, throw in your change, then stab the gas. So everyday I'd throw in two quarters, then be reaching for 2nd gear just as the song hit 1:02 ............ Still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. That was the first year I fell in love...Prettiest girl I've ever seen...Pretty sure she loved my taste in music and Pop Culture .)
Man talk about a flashback to the 80s. My mom had a copy of this on record and I used to dance around and sing to it as a kid. Good times... good memories!!!
As always their harmonies are spot on. I had a tape of LRB, their greatest hits, and whenever I went on long drives it would get played over and over. What's a tape you ask, well it was the first format that could be played in cars aside from the radio, just after the dinosaurs became extinct and just before the CD. What's a CD🤔🤣
Love LRB but listening to their music always makes me cry because it reminds me of my Dad and one of my younger brothers as they were both fans but our Dad didn't know that we were fans of them until the month before his death 😢 when we were on the phone with him and listening to a cassette I had recently bought of their greatest hits. February 8th was the 26 year anniversary of his passing 😢 and that brother passed December 13th 2006 😢
I was the new keyboard player with the Air Force rock band and we were picking songs for the next tour. I wanted to do this song but got push back from the other guys because LRB didn't really have "massive" hits (and I was the new guy). But once we tried it in rehearsal it felt and sounded great. We opened our show with this song as it was peaking on the radio and the place erupted like we were the Beatles or something! Saw LRB in Colorado about 10-12 years later and their sound was pristine. They're just so musical!

I am with you
😢
Hope they were ready to meet the Lord before they passed.
Even Glen Frey said " Forget the Eagles, the little River Band have the greatest Harmonies in music "
Glen was right. I saw LRB live in an outdoor concert at the Ohio State Fair in the 80s. I have NEVER heard any other band sound that good live.
Loved this band! I'm 74 and still like them. A little smoke is always welcome
This really takes me back to when life was easier, and the music was amazing!! ❤
Yes it does
WORD ❤️🩹 ❤️🩹 ❤️🩹
Yes!! Before the world went insane😊
Wow your so right
It's because we were all much younger.
These guys were the EAGLES of Australia......Harmonies, Musicianship, GREAT LIVE BAND< I've seen them BOTH!
The band members of The Eagles hated one another. There are lots of dark behind the scenes stories about The Eagles.
They were the band that the Beach Boys wanted to be in the 70’s.

Beach Boys

I was 21 in 81, i loved this song. I want my youth back lol
13 in 81, me too.
That’s always the ultimate betrayal. We never know how precious our youth is until after we’ve lost it.
Yes sir, me too. FW, Texas.
I was 21 in 81 to...I THINK IT WAS MUCH BETTER THEN... Congratulations to the both of us, for making it this far...👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸❤️
I was 21 in 1981 too. Still love this song and everything from LRB.
Really glad you guys are posting these lost gems and claiming your legacy. I listen to LRB daily. Your music is timeless.
I listen Daily several times also. Nothing beats LRB
Why oh why don't kids today realize this Is real music.?
All the songs tell you a story

Often immitated never dupicated. Legends right here.
Glen Shorrock had one of the strongest clearest voices ever. I always stop to listen to them. ❤️
I love how they harmonize. What a great sound.
Glenn Shorrock has a beautiful voice ❤
I wish I could sing like that but I couldn't carry a tune if it had a handle.
One of the best harmonious band ever
Riffs licks beats harmonies melodies lyrics song writing story telling phenomenal musicians master piece

They had so much fun playing their music. Fun to watch!
Great song of my Youth. It took me years, Decades even, to realize the Song was about Me and My Life.......
My family had moved to Australia and lived there from 74-78. Used to listen to these guys and Skyhook. This really brings me back. Love it!

Glenn Shorrock has a great voice.
I remember late July 1979 this song playing everyday on our local am radio 📻 station.
Great writers, great singers, great performers. Good stuff.
