My friend thought I was crazy when I told her I sometimes sit at a bar and have a drink and read by myself, or take myself on a dinner and a movie date. You have to get past the social anxiety, but I think it’s important to treat yourself the way you deserve to be treated. Why wait for others to treat you?!

I’ve never had a problem! I’m always reading too, so I appear occupied. It helps to go on less busy days and go to bars in nicer restaurants, cafés, or quiet dives. I would not go to a nightclub or busy bar on a Saturday night lol
Amen to this! I have been realizing this as of late and will be dedicating at minimum a day or half of the day to do something for myself, because I deserve it 💐
@@EzeAllStar1 Think about this, you’re going to pick up food at a restaurant and they have you waiting at the bar because it isn’t ready yet, so you order a quick drink to pass the time, and just so happen to have a book in hand. How does that make you feel?

I know its tempting to buy from amazon, but i really encourage you to keep buying from bookstores if you can because it helps keep them open! unfortunately online corporations, like amazon, are the main reason bookstores are going out of business quickly nowadays. So if you can, please keep supporting barnes and noble. I know spending 15-20 dollars on a book is insane but I always just tell myself im helping B&N and i just smile through the pain LOL
also when main bookstores eventually close down (hopefully never tho) amazon will mark up prices

I've been to Barnes & Noble by myself several times. It is like a solo date for me. I read, browse, drink coffee, etc. It is so relaxing!

I'm 29 and I have started doing this back when I was 18! always loved going in bookstores, browsing books and then drinking a mocha cappuccino with a slice of cake hehehe so fun and I love my own company!
I love spending time alone and going on little solo dates from time to time. Browsing bookstores is one of my favorite things. I would recommend, instead of buying from Amazon going to your local public library. Where you can read and check out books for “free”, and then buy the ones you really loved and would re-read again from a bookstore.
i love my own company, on my off days i love goin to bookstores, cafes, libraries alone to journal. it really relaxes me
The only thing about buying from Amazon is that bookstores go bankrupt & authors don’t get fully paid for our purchases :/

👻This is my first time watching your channel & it couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been in a 3 year relationship & we went to an event at our local coffee shop that hosts vendors, which I love bc it’s been awhile since we’ve last gone. The previous time we went I was super anxious bc of how packed it was & today I just had the worst social anxiety that it ruined my night. We were only there for 30 minutes & the whole way home I was thinking how my relationship has caused me to become anxious. I’m in a healthy relationship, but I believe that I’ve become dependent on doing things with him that I don’t know how to interact with other people. I asked myself, “what does Estrella like? What does she want to do?” We do things as a couple, but sometimes I just want to be in my own world without him & truly connect with my energy. So, this video was sign to start connecting with myself more & face my anxiety, bc it is not who I am. So, thank you! 💫 I hope all my ladies who are in relationships connect with themselves & pour the whole damn water into their cup, so we can truly flourish. 🌻

So I actually just went to Barnes and noble by myself last week and just picked up a few books that looked interesting and sat down and started to read them 😌 I ended up buying one of them, it was really relaxing to do, so more solo trips in the future for me 🥰🥰🥰

I have the opposite problem- I can vibe alone just fine (including eating out by myself), but I get anxious when I’m with other people :( Any tips on how to alleviate that is appreciated!
Hang out with people that don't push you to act a certain way, or question you in a negative way. Basically, try to hang out with people who have the same values as you and respect your boundaries.
I do all the time. I live in a small town and drive to the nearest city that is 35 mins away. I go into eat and B&N to browse around to. 😊

Girl try thrifting books! Of course, it is not the same as the bookstore but you never know what treasures you will find. Another way is to get a library card. So, so cheap and comforting to go into a library and check out a book.

I agree with you about buying on Amazon…. Until… I learned that Target price matches books, so you can get the Amazon price at Target… so although their selection is that big, you can get the book shopping experience at Amazon prices. 😊

I just discovered your channel! And I’ve been working on doing things by myself, actually editing a video when I went to the beach by myself!
When I decide that I want to do a reading binge I go to Barnes and Noble for the experience and get 1 or 2 books and then I choose like another 2 but those I order online. That way I get the outdoor shopping experience and still save money, either way by the time I finish reading the book from Barnes and Noble the rest of the books have arrived.

This is all out of love, but please don’t tell people to always order from Amazon. We own a local bookstore, and that’s one of the main reasons there aren’t a lot of bookstores around anymore. Yes, it’s more expensive to support a bookstore, but like you said you’re able to walk around, look at the book before buying it and workers ask if you need help. If people only order from Amazon, you won’t be able to do that anymore.

I know Amazon is cheaper but definitely keep trying to visit Barnes and Nobles or even better, your local book stores! Purchasing from them helps them stay in business and if you purchase from a local book store, you are putting money back into your community!

Amazon purposely lowers the price under the publishers price to cut out bookstores. Amazon loses money when you buy books from them, but they don't care because they want you to choose them over the bookstore. It's better for the authors if you buy from a bookstore or even get the books from the library. Libraries actually pay more for the books than regular bookstores so the author gets a higher royalty when libraries buy their books.

I totally agree Amazon is way cheaper for books! However, I’ve heard rumors Barnes and Nobles may be closing since everyone is now buying from Amazon and they aren’t doing too well. That’s why their books are more expensive:(
It's actually the opposite. Their books were always more expensive, which is why they're running out of business. But they need to charge books that way bc of their brick and mortar system :/ tricky...
Oh I definitely agree with buying from Amazon, like I finally bought beach read at Barnes and Noble it was 16$ there, I got it cuz why not? Just to find out a week later that I could’ve boughten it FOR LITERALLY 7$ ON AMAZON!!! I was sooo pissed when I found that out smh.
