In the past couple of weeks I’ve watched dozens of candle business videos. I’m only 3/4 the way through this one and I’ve already subscribed, limed and downloaded this video. Thank you thank you thank you! This is the one that has made up my mind to take the leap!
Congratulations it would have been nice if you could have shown the things you have written in your binder and the little post-it notes what it does say just to help another candle Maker get organized
Hi I love all your videos. I have been making some candles and on experiment stage. I m using soy wax 464 as well, but I found the hot throw is weak. I m adding my Fo at 180, what is your recommendation?
Thank you! and we usually add our fo at 185-188 and keep mixing for about 2 minutes. what fo % do you use for yours? we also wait for about a week and a half for them to cure before we test them!
@@gracecupid we typically use 8 to 10% depending on how strong the fo is. 9% is our ideal in the middle sweet spot though. what wick series do you use and have you let your candles cure for atleast 2 weeks before burning? glad to help you with this :)
@@UwuCandleCo thanks for your help and advice, I used cotton wick and no tunnelling issue, abit over wick and I cured it 1wk. On 2nd week I do the second test burn, hardly any scents. I think I need to change other FO. The choice in Malaysia for FO for candle making is very limited
We don't use wooden wicks for our candles, but I think this might apply for all wicks after burning: Always make sure to remove any wick trimmings from the wax before relighting. This debris can cause your wax to discolor. You can also try experimenting with using less fragrance oil load as that can be a factor of some discoloration you might be experiencing.
@@UwuCandleCo Thank you so much for your advice. Oh sorry, I thought you were using wooden wicks as it was in your video, I may have missed it if you wrote that you weren’t using it anymore. The wooden wicks are doing my head in so I think after I try what you’ve suggested, if it doesn’t work then I’ll go back to cotton wicks. Thank you 🤍✨
Thank you! We love to be super transparent about our small business! We want to share our knowledge and anything that could help others out with their small business. Also yes that was a ps4 controller, would love to game sometime as well!

Can I just ask… How do you deal with or avoid the discolouration that the wood sticks leaves on the wax after it burns? Thank you in advance.
