I find the bigger more exposed front wheel on the hikoki super handy for internal curves n what not. ✌️

Saying the hikoki ac adapter will run all day is false. It has 400w less power and has a very short duty cycle. Running on batteries will last longer and give you more power. Unless you like letting the ac adapter cool down for 20mins every 10mins.

You missed one important thing, which one fits best upside down in a vice?? Love the corded option I know it defeats the purpose but great idea.

Nice comparison Here in the US the M18 and the Dewalt are almost 2x the price of the Hikoiki/HPT... 🤷‍♂️

I need one of those AC battery adapters for Makita 40v. Some of their tools drain batteries like nothing and I find all corded tools just aren't made the same as cordless for whatever reason!

I needed one, and your video hasn't come up yet, so I bought the Hikoki in the dark,,, and bought the power adapter on next day😅, it felt like I should buy a corded one, but I still love my Hikoki one by the end of the day.(with adaptor)

great breakdown as usual! the AEG 6ah battery, is that one with 18650 cells or with 21700, a bit hard to see?

Great vid! Would love to get the hikoki belt sander just dont need one 😅 btw on hikoki nz the 4.5kg stated is with the BSL36B18 which is the larger 4.0/8.0ah battery. Next to the kg number it says the battery number.

Needed one of these before MHPT/HiKoki came out with theirs. I went with the Ridgid and got a battery adapter that uses my HiKoki batteries. I'll upgrade to the MHPT/HiKoki sander at some point.

Oh, boy, things are moving fast in the industry. Both Hikoki and Dewalt have come out with cordless belt sanders in the recent months! I have the Milwaukee and the power is more than I need on most cases, but the ergonomics is a bit odd, it is harder to keep it straight on the material, compared to my corded Makitas. Thin belt and high centre of gravity. And the Hikoki seems to have the same issue. And yes - it eats batteries super-quick.

I wish more tool manufacturers offered a mains power adapter like hikoki. I get that it's a bit cumbersome, but more convenient than having a set of cordless and a set of corded tools!

Thanks for the review was tossing up between the AEG and Hikoki definitely going with the Hikoki, did you end up getting it connected up to vacuum and did it help with reducing the amount of dust spewed everywhere?

Sweet…belt sanders with an accessory rail! So I can mount lights, lasers, and other optics, oh my bad work type of tool…lol! It’s still cool though. I wish more tool companies would give us users the hybrid option like the Hikoki. In your opinion would you use a belt sander like one of these or a cordless planer for leveling out an uneven tabletop?
