This cartridge is the best offering for us hunters in Ohio. Effective energy levels out to 200yds with very little recoil. I'll be buying one real soon. However saying it out performs the 30-30 is pure BS. Compare the offerings from Winchester for either round in any bullet weight and the 30-30 comes out on top in energy, velocity and trajectory. Compare them to the Hornady Leverevolution and you'll see it has as much energy at 200yds as the 350 legend can provide at 100yds.

The 350 legend has a low sectional density. The numbers I have seen are .205. The .243 win. with a 100 gr bullet is .242. You should have at least .240 SD on deer size game.
