A lot of people don't mention the masterpiece of the music score in this movie... The music at 1:36... And the tension it builds up when he is about to throw the lighter, then at 1:53 when the guy catches the lighter... The music changes to more calming peaceful and f****** emotional... So incredible. I tear up hearing this music in this particular scene.

I love this fight scene because it was exhilarating to see 3 masters take out an entire terrorist team. It really brought out the “are they just weak commoners? Nope. They are men that can kick butt” . Just so cool how it took one brave man to make the others join and save the day.
“It took one brave man to make the others join and save the day.” I think that was another message of this scene. The Coolie, being the first person to stand up against the gang, ignited everyone’s fighting spirit. No pun intended, but he’s like the lighter that he caught. Sometimes, somebody has to be the “first” to inspire others to do the same.

The action, comedy, music score, choreography, line delivery, acting, literally everything are all so perfect and they’re each handled beautifully, nothing feels like it’s clashing in theme or tone everything is perfectly and I mean perfectly laid out for the viewer
I have watched movies my whole life. You might be right. They say you dont remember the movie but one scene. If you have more than one scene people remember you have a classic. But this movie has so many moments. The shots andusic selection might be the best ever. If its not the best its in the top 5 and deserve to be in the discussion.
My favorite part about all this is that the people who fought seemed to have kept something close that was similar to their training. Whether they did it intentionally or not. It Also makes you want to know who these people were before they became simple folk trying to live a peaceful life

Kung Fu Hustle is a timeless masterpiece! If today Everything Everywhere All at Once is getting the respect it deserves, this movie more than deserved it back then.
Hard agree. It's a dizzying blend of Hong Kong action, Buster Keaton physical comedy and cartoons. The scene where the protagonist is being pursued by the woman landlord who always has a cigarette hanging out of her mouth and he uses the knife sticking into him as a mirror to see she is gaining on him then she splats into the poster and is suspended there is like something out of Bugs Bunny. Amazing work, surely Stephen Chow's best

This is a tremendously good movie. It's one of the best movies ever made in China.
From Hong Kong
Legendary!!!!!!
I loved this movie since it first came out and what I loved about it is. People have that mindset that when you live in a village with a community of people that they’re worthless to society and how I see this is a village of strong people who will fight to the death for you.
I always loved the camaraderie between these three, it’s so sad they are gone so quickly.

"You're not dead. (You're not dead!)"
😂😂😂😂😂hahahahahahahahahha
Great fight choreography ive ever seen. 100 times better than anything superhero movies have done.
yes
Who’d have thought there’d be 5 kung fu masters living under one roof.

A masterpiece of cinematography❤
I've seen a TON of fight scenes in movies and this is still my #1 and I really mean that.
God I wish there were more movies like this and Shaolin Soccer. I wish that so much. I just want to see crazy over-the-top kung fu.
This entire movie is a masterpiece. It's the perfect depiction of an anime as a live-action movie.
Was blessed to have stumbled upon this movie. I cried it was so funny.
This scene alone shows how much of a visionary Stephen Chow is. Breathtaking from the writing to the action being filmed. Awesome!❤
This scene was a personal favorite of mine. Three seemingly harmless men who turned out to be major ass kickers.
What a masterpiece. Such an underrated film. An absolute must see.
ชอบดูมากเรื่องนี้ทั้งมันส์ทั้งฮา
I say this without an ounce of hyperbole, but Kung Fu Hustle has to be one of the greatest action comedies of all time.
