  • With the huge price tags on the Leica cameras, the Bessa R and well, pretty much all of the other awesome ranger finder cameras which youtube and ebay have helped become massively inflated in price, its time to take back phototgraphy and use these older more pocket safe cameras.
The Petri CC is an awesome little vintage option for those looking to experince the ranger finder vibes without breaking the bank.

Those old cameras have stories I wish they could tell.

I have one camera (instead of a lot camera’s in the background of this video………but it’s a leica (Q1) and it is by far the best I have even owned. I was happy with my canon a1 for many many years, but the q is just another inspiring level.

      Beautiful Camera for sure !
$3000 for a good one, fixed lens 28mm right ?
I’d say that the Fuji XPro is also a great option for a third of the price ;-) if we’re talking inspiring shooting (with beautiful recipes)
BUT …. If you’re a brand new shooter , please don’t buy a Leica Q lol. Take a little step with a cheaper camera and get the feel of it then trail others before dropping that much cash ….. I’d rather have an XT5 with a kit lens and a ticket to Australia for the same price ;-)

I've bought quite a few compact fixed lens range finder cameras that had been checked over and we're in apparently good condition with a price to match. The recurrent theme to the problems I've had is that these cameras were not built to last with quality materials (i.e metal!) In all essential areas. There are lots of fail points other than those normally covered by camera inspections. All the ones I bought worked fine
....for a while. And not all can be fixed without cannibalizing another camera for a component in a better state, meaning you need to buy another camera in the hope it will fit the bill! So it is a lottery. 1:19 1:19
