I hope EA sticks with releasing these for the PC also. This is the only game that I treated religiously until it went away back in 11 or 12. Really looking forward to this release!
Just came here to say tho so I’m not surprised that it’s the second comment I see. It’s not surprising that they are adding back in features that they used to have way back in 2006! The good mechanics that should have never left such as spin control and the heart beat mode. It’s amazing what a little competition will do.
Power boost, spin control, and slow mo were all I needed to hear. My brother and I used to go play 18 on a Saturday and come home and play Tiger Woods 07 for hours after. Genuinely can't wait for this release.
Can we finally please get back the turn based online multiplayer? Seeing a bunch of lines flying on your screen isn't the same as seeing someone awful or amazing shot live as it happens. Plus taking turns makes it feel way more lay back.
I do agree, but make it an option for people. Like obviously the option to pick though would be non turn based, so turn based is automatically selected at first. 😄.
OOO MMM GGGG thank GOD EA has taken golfing back over. I did notice some serious frame rate skipping and also some rapid AI robotic like body mechanics/movements after impact on the players but hoping this will all be sorted out. Wonder why no ones add ropes in front of the crowds to make it more realistic. ADD ROPES!!!!
If they can deliver a solid product here, I will be playing this game alot! Looks amazing so far. And the fact they're finally bringing back Augusta already makes me excited

@@sweetnesisbeast it's not the same. I put hundreds of hours into 21. It's similar, but more polished. Swing mechanics are better. Haven't had any issues playing with my golfing buddies. Probably have played 50 rounds online with them so far
I'm just glad you can putt on the fringe because every shot around the green doesn't always require a chip shot. In real life it's easier for most golfers to putt rather than hitting a perfect chip, but that's just my opinion
Agreed. The default chipping setup in PGA2K is annoying, and when you putt you have to check if it has the right power since it's super finicky at having you putt at 50% strength and not going anywhere which is so unrealistic.
Well, with this vid, in my book, they are over delivering already (in a positive way). Things look very promising. 😊 Now let's hope EA doesn't screw it all with egregious season pass, lot boxes and DLCs 🤞

I hope EA comes through on this one, I used to play the tiger woods games back in 2005,6,7 and 8 I tried the rory game but was not a fan and jumped over to the golf club which is now 2k23 pga and it is incredible, from this teaser I may come back to these titles if they come out as good as it looks
I've always wanted golf to be more "open world" in video games, make me walk to my golfball, soak in the scenery before my next shot, I think this would go a long way to making a realistic golf game
Same here. I also want a playing partner when I'm playing in a PGA Tour even, with the option to be toggled off for those that don't want to wait. Perhaps even be able to watch the AI golfers when my final round is over and I'm either leading or close to it.
Last good golf sim I can remember was links 2003. Powerstroke with a mouse was really effective. No spinning the ball in mid air. And no following the ball with the camera, just proper golf from the golfers perspective
Excited to try this, but did anyone else think the swing animations looked a bit stiff/unnatural? Specifically on the follow through, as the player completes his/her swing and goes into the “pose” or club twirl. See the 0:54 mark and you’ll see the hitch I’m talking about. It’s evident on a couple other swings in the video too.

As someone who still plays PGA Tour 2005 every now and then on the original Xbox, this pumped me up, when did they get rid of these? Now we just need Outkast, the dance animations, the customisability and the game modes.
Why is console 4K30, but PC uncapped? It's the trackman and shot-link data isn't it... Every time the golfers hit a drive or iron shot in this trailer the FPS takes a huge it eh?
It would be cool to actually add your own swing and shot data from a real trackman to make your custom golfer.Use your own average swing speed, launch angle, club distances, etc.
I understand they added my favorite course, Pebble Beach, to 2K23 post-launch, but I'm still hyped for its inclusion in EA 23. But we're finally getting Augusta again. Now I just hope they add some other of my favorite courses from Tiger Woods 13 and 14, like Pinehurst and Oakmont.
It's not like they'll run out of copies lol. Wait until pre-load at least. Why would you loan your money to a company for months without a product or interest?

That's one thing I wish 2K had...spin control. I think this game will have some great features, but 2K will still be the better game, but competition is good for the consumer. We look no further than Madden to see what happens when there is no competition.
Really impressed to hear 30 courses out of the gate included, that's great. And ability to balance arcade (button mash to add spin) and sim style gameplay is there too. Sounds like you've actually been listening this time around, but we'll wait and see upon release.

Ill admit.. I was super reserved about EA coming out with another golf game. But im actually blown away. The graphics look amazing. The shot types look incredible. The course launch lineup is top notch. Fans look real for once. Now.. if the gameplay is good and the career mode is fire... This will be the king of golf games. Well, imo everything looks very good except the graphics. Bad artstyle and textures/lighting, but it doesn't matter, graphics stopped being important for me 10 years ago or so.
PGA Tour '24 clearly seems to retain a lot of the essentials that made up PGA Tour 'I2 to 'I4 and Rory McIlroy (PGA Tour 'I6), though it is clear that it is doing its own thing and will hold up as a solid upgrade for anybody coming back into the series from those four entries; what I hope most is that certain elements that help Electronic Arts' options stand out better than Take Two's entries: ~ Glitches: By this point, I would hope that critical glitches from 'I4 no longer exist, such as Club Reset (if you change a Custom Character's Appearance and then go to the Club Select, it would set everything back to Standard, with certain options such as the Driver being reset to 0II.50) and No Boost XP (even with Boosts equipped, sometimes the experience wouldn't be gained); these had plagued the PlayStation 03 version at launch and were never addressed even with Revision 0I, thus it can only be anticipated that PGA Tour '24 will get constant updates to improve any bugs found over time. ~ No Customization Cap: The biggest problem with PGA Tour 'I2 to 'I4 was two limits, the first being how many Custom Characters you can make on a single account (in this case, Four) and the other being that both genders couldn't get the same gear at the same levels (Example: Men were able to get Watches well before the women, who had to wait until Level 048 to unlock the first set); I intend to play PGA Tour '24 mostly in an Offline capacity to hold Local Tournaments, thus having the ability to create a Limitless amount of Custom Characters without having to make multiple accounts truly will make a difference; retaining the Level Up system from 'I4 to unlock most of the gear truly did help because many did not want to have to play Career Mode to upgrade any characters and thus I hope this returns too, this was done correctly back in 20I3 and I wouldn't expect the system to get altered or omitted. ~ Cheat Codes (Passwords): The Wii version of PGA Tour 'I2 was the last entry to have Cheat Codes to unlock all the courses, gear, and other elements such as Super Tiger Woods (the Xbox 0360 and PlayStation 03 version did have Six Cheats/Passwords in the game data, but ultimately do not work outside of potentially the Prototype Builds); while I don't anticipate that this will come back, many of us do miss typing in things such as YOUDAMAN and getting everything from the get~go, this was part of the Mid~Tiger Woods Era's charm and it will forever be part of any player's Wishlist for this entry and beyond. ~ Course Creation and Game Modularity: Akin to Two~K '2I and '23, there is a high demand for Custom Course Development with PGA Tour '24, the fanbase will likely do this via mods of the PC version if it's not offered officially and thus it is something that we hope has been taken into consideration; wishfully we'll also get to do other mods, such as inject Custom Soundtracks and Sound Effects or alter the Heads~up Display and both Course and Clothing Models/Textures to give the game a more personalized look if players so choose to, this is something we felt bad we couldn't truly do with 'I2 to 'I6 that it'll be nice to see how this side of the community develops over time. (:

My only complaint about 2k is the devs hanging unreleased updates over our heads and expect us to be grateful. To be almost in February and to not have Crossplay and ranked is unacceptable.

Now this looks like a next gen golf game! I really hope they nail the atmosphere with this one. As quiet as it can get on the course, those tour crowds get rowdy lol and the older ea tiger woods games had stellar atmospheres.
Been waiting sooo long for a golf game like this! Ultra realistic, lots of top pros, best courses, stunning graphics and physics. Hopefully tons of customizing clubs, gear, apparel, etc. Course designer would be nice and MINIMAL COSMETIC or better yet NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. Can't wait to finally be able to play Augusta National!

Oh YES !!!!! I'm so happy right now. EA will, again, deliver a great golf game. Could be realistic, and could be as arcady as old time, with power boost, big hit, heartbeat moment (so glad about all this). The way the ball react on every surface type, and pure strike seem to deliver. And, the best about it... Available on march 21 (deluxe), march 24 (standard)
No good for me, was hoping for a good simple 3 click like rory ea.. Too bad looks great but us 3 clickers not interested in stick pushing. Hot Shots golf was a GREAT game all options, had 50,000 on servers
Just constantly looking for more golf content so I've watched this like six times just really deep diving into it. I am so hyped for this game as the recent launch of 2K23 was less than stellar and honestly the Unity Engine doesn't do it for me.

Like many here, I grew up with the TW Franchise. Rory game was poor and it took a while before 2k21 brought out one of the best golf games ever. 2k23 is abysmal. Finally this EA Game looks next level. Can’t wait for it to drop. BUZZING
This looks solid . Irrespective of what the general consensus is about EA , i can say for sure this game has been given a lot of thought . Attention to details is what makes an ordinary iterative sports game to something outstanding . Definitely buying .

I’m in the same boat. 2006 was the peak of this game for me. Now PGA is kicking ass so hopefully it lights a fire under this EA dev team.

The average round of a Tour pro during a Tournament is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Ill admit.. I was super reserved about EA coming out with another golf game. But im actually blown away. The graphics look amazing. The shot types look incredible. The course launch lineup is top notch. Fans look real for once. Now.. if the gameplay is good and the career mode is fire... This will be the king of golf games. Sorry 2k you might have been dethroned

Well, imo everything looks very good except the graphics. Bad artstyle and textures/lighting, but it doesn't matter, graphics stopped being important for me 10 years ago or so.

PGA Tour '24 clearly seems to retain a lot of the essentials that made up PGA Tour 'I2 to 'I4 and Rory McIlroy (PGA Tour 'I6), though it is clear that it is doing its own thing and will hold up as a solid upgrade for anybody coming back into the series from those four entries; what I hope most is that certain elements that help Electronic Arts' options stand out better than Take Two's entries:
~ Glitches: By this point, I would hope that critical glitches from 'I4 no longer exist, such as Club Reset (if you change a Custom Character's Appearance and then go to the Club Select, it would set everything back to Standard, with certain options such as the Driver being reset to 0II.50) and No Boost XP (even with Boosts equipped, sometimes the experience wouldn't be gained); these had plagued the PlayStation 03 version at launch and were never addressed even with Revision 0I, thus it can only be anticipated that PGA Tour '24 will get constant updates to improve any bugs found over time.
~ No Customization Cap: The biggest problem with PGA Tour 'I2 to 'I4 was two limits, the first being how many Custom Characters you can make on a single account (in this case, Four) and the other being that both genders couldn't get the same gear at the same levels (Example: Men were able to get Watches well before the women, who had to wait until Level 048 to unlock the first set); I intend to play PGA Tour '24 mostly in an Offline capacity to hold Local Tournaments, thus having the ability to create a Limitless amount of Custom Characters without having to make multiple accounts truly will make a difference; retaining the Level Up system from 'I4 to unlock most of the gear truly did help because many did not want to have to play Career Mode to upgrade any characters and thus I hope this returns too, this was done correctly back in 20I3 and I wouldn't expect the system to get altered or omitted.
~ Cheat Codes (Passwords): The Wii version of PGA Tour 'I2 was the last entry to have Cheat Codes to unlock all the courses, gear, and other elements such as Super Tiger Woods (the Xbox 0360 and PlayStation 03 version did have Six Cheats/Passwords in the game data, but ultimately do not work outside of potentially the Prototype Builds); while I don't anticipate that this will come back, many of us do miss typing in things such as YOUDAMAN and getting everything from the get~go, this was part of the Mid~Tiger Woods Era's charm and it will forever be part of any player's Wishlist for this entry and beyond.
~ Course Creation and Game Modularity: Akin to Two~K '2I and '23, there is a high demand for Custom Course Development with PGA Tour '24, the fanbase will likely do this via mods of the PC version if it's not offered officially and thus it is something that we hope has been taken into consideration; wishfully we'll also get to do other mods, such as inject Custom Soundtracks and Sound Effects or alter the Heads~up Display and both Course and Clothing Models/Textures to give the game a more personalized look if players so choose to, this is something we felt bad we couldn't truly do with 'I2 to 'I6 that it'll be nice to see how this side of the community develops over time. (:

@@ollye4786 I hope EA will steer away from an arcade style game. 2k seems way more like a competitive version. My only complaint about 2k is the devs hanging unreleased updates over our heads and expect us to be grateful. To be almost in February and to not have Crossplay and ranked is unacceptable.

Agree. This is my #1 complaint with golf games. Makes no sense and I feel like it’s not that difficult to lock down a few different animations 😅

@@Slowhiteguy exactly. At least have like 10 sets of swings from pros (driver swing, iron, wedges, etc) and let the player select 1. Or create a swing like wayyyy back in tiger 08. The generic swings suck

Given how this looks like 14's mechanics, we won't be getting the smash for power as that's replaced with the swing speed+Overswing.
This is nothing but GOOD for all golfing gamers, especially in light of 2K23 being as it is. Competition is good! Here's to hoping EA's PGA Tour is going to be stellar and I'm really liking what I see here...
Is this a next gen golf sim we are waiting for? It does actually looks pretty good I must admit. I'm playing PGA TOUR 2K21 the last couple of years pretty often, and been in love with the game. I'm ready!

Now this looks like a next gen golf game! I really hope they nail the atmosphere with this one. As quiet as it can get on the course, those tour crowds get rowdy lol and the older ea tiger woods games had stellar atmospheres.

Been waiting sooo long for a golf game like this! Ultra realistic, lots of top pros, best courses, stunning graphics and physics. Hopefully tons of customizing clubs, gear, apparel, etc. Course designer would be nice and MINIMAL COSMETIC or better yet NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. Can't wait to finally be able to play Augusta National!
There are about 35 brands of gear. That is over double of 2K golf.

The only flaw that I see worth pointing out is how un-fluid the swings look. They still look like robots swinging, but I can deal with it!
@@ryanp6999 Yeah it does look a little wonky but hopefully they will iron that out or maybe it's the person playing doesnt have a smooth swing (since they said you can use your swing to gauge your shot instead of just relying on the meters like every other game) well see though, fingers crossed

Just constantly looking for more golf content so I've watched this like six times just really deep diving into it. I am so hyped for this game as the recent launch of 2K23 was less than stellar and honestly the Unity Engine doesn't do it for me.
Did you ever play the Microsoft links series? Nothing has come close in terms of realistic simulation since. And that was 20+ years ago

Like many here, I grew up with the TW Franchise. Rory game was poor and it took a while before 2k21 brought out one of the best golf games ever. 2k23 is abysmal. Finally this EA Game looks next level. Can’t wait for it to drop. BUZZING

This looks solid . Irrespective of what the general consensus is about EA , i can say for sure this game has been given a lot of thought . Attention to details is what makes an ordinary iterative sports game to something outstanding . Definitely buying .
