Finally a video where someone actually explains and helps understand how this game works. I've been playing golf games since back on the mega drive and all the Tiger woods games, but this had me cursing and swearing because the ball just wouldn't stay on the green and you have explained all the bits to help build my character up. Thanks very much 😃👍🏻
First time I’ve seen one of your videos. I’m very impressed, I really enjoyed your presentation. I’ve subscribed and liked, please keep providing these great videos.
If you play on the xbox X I do recommend getting a elite controller it will change your swing and with the customizations. It makes it a way better game .
I'll be honest man, once the video got on the golf course 80% of that went clear over my head. What exactly is a swing plane, what do you mean by "being off-line" and what does that slow/fast/under/overswing tell you? What is it that I'm doing "slow"? How are you telling this "swing plane" is right? Frankly I don't really give it that much thought. But thanks for making it. One of the few things I like about EA is they make it possible to give a good challenge to people like RedGolf, but for mere mortals like myself who just want a casual game of golf every few weeks, we can make it work for us, though I wish the difficulty settings were more fine-tuned.
I do love your videos, however please keep in mind that many of us are brand new to golf, you mentioned that in your intro. And personally I don't know what you mean by those terms above. The stuff about feet being above or below the hole, lie slope and all that just makes my head spin if I'm being honest. For the swing itself I don't give it that much thought and I usually do okay enough to finish top 25 at average difficulty levels, I've never really worried much about swing plane or any of that. That's what I like about this as opposed to 2k. 2k23 is so picky about timing, even a tenth of a second off will send the ball sideways. EA is much more reasonable so as long as the fast/slow is within 2-3% I'm perfectly fine with that.
I never even thought about using arcade swing for the challenges, Thats a great idea. do you still get the same amount of xp ? or do you get less on arcade?
There is no option to play 1 round, 2 rounds or 3 rounds in the career mode, you have to play the full 4 rounds but they are aware of this and are hopefully going to patch this option back in. They said it was initially in the game but had to be removed at the last minute as it caused issues with commentary, challenges etc
If you add loft to long to mid irons they will still tend to roll out but not as much as they typically would I believe. If you add loft to wedges then they will usually have a lot of backspin. The circle you get for any shot is where the ball will land and not where it will end up so you have to try and calculate as best as possible where it might end up after rolling out. The larger the circle you have means the larger the dispersion area for where the ball can land even if you swing straight and with a good tempo. So if your created character in career mode has very high accuracy stats for approach shots for example, then you should notice the circle is small meaning a smaller dispersion area but then you also have to try and calculate factors such as wind speed and direction, slope, course firmness, green speed etc. I played an 8 or 9 iron into a green at Augusta and into the wind and added loft and when it landed just barely on the green it spun back off the green. Next time I played the exact same shot into the same green with the same wind speed and direction and same club but reduced the loft completely and played it in low and comfortably made the middle of the green. If you have the green grid displayed then you also want to look at the slope and what direction the beads are running in because especially on a course like Augusta you ideally want to try and hit the green leaving yourself an uphill putt instead of a downhill putt. Different courses also react differently. Recently played St Andrews and the amount of roll out on a driver and landing on the fairway is absurd. Apologies for the long response, but in short add loft to your long to mid irons and it should help them to stick a bit more. When putting, if you have an uphill putt that’s say 1 foot uphill then add approximately 14-15 foot of distance and then if it’s 1 foot downhill then reduce the distance by 14-15 foot. So if you have a 30 foot putt that’s uphill 1 foot then set your putting distance to 45 foot. 14-15 foot of distance seems to be about right for every 1 foot of elevation
Most of your longer irons will not spin and their trajectory is low. Try replacing your 4-5 irons with hybrids, they launch a little higher and tend to land a little softer
@James My ball just keeps going off the green. Could it be because I'm slightly under swinging? I've tried high shots knock downs but it's not happening. Scratching my head mate.
@@timhorrocks3515 does it keep going off as in too far and off the back or hitting the front and spinning back off? If you’re under swinging and following through slow then it will likely come up short. If you’re over swinging and following through fast then it’ll likely travel too far and go off the back. I normally slightly over swing and follow through slightly too fast so knowing that I might take a club less or just move the marker where my ball will land further down towards the front of the green which will then move the marker for the optimal point for the top of my backswing on the swing meter. I prefer to follow through fast as I find it’s helps the stick to go through nice and straight. If you under swing and follow through fast then it’ll likely balance out and the same if you over swing but follow through slow. Here’s a link to the hole in one challenge I did for the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass. If you watch the swing information in the bottom right you’ll see I under swing slightly and follow through fast kind of balancing out the distance hit. ruclips.net/video/nZWzMtUC_LQ/видео.html
Please pardon my ignorance but I’m a 65 year old retiree who has taken up gaming in the last six months and purchased this golf game only 5 days ago. I noticed on the golfer / skills page that all your boxes are yellow which I assume means something good? Only my power boxes are yellow and I’m not even sure how it happened? You also talk about things like pick and finesse, I don’t even have those options. Can you please give me a little help. Thanks, Marty.
So many questions... first, I play 3-click swing. The 4 hole tourny's require analog. How do you learn how to use analog swing? It seems very foreign and difficult. Also... what do you mean "buy" stuff? I haven't earned any of those little green diamond shape points. Do you actually have to purchase that?
My question is , How satisfying is it playing the game on the pc , as opposed the Xbox . I have both , and a high def monitor as well . But is the latency issues ive seen mentioned off and on - need to be addressed , and degrade the game as opposed on each system , since one uses the Xbox online system , and the other uses Steam .?
What are the base online play settings? Is it tour? And I want to also have the base ai to be where winners are -15 to -17 and bump it up to maybe a -20 for masters and other open championships. Any suggestions. I’ve been on pro 80 and was a crap show on hard, was -44 for the pro am and next closest was -9 so got boring after about hole 4 on second round
Please address the fact that the #1 position on the daily tournaments is extremely unreasonable. Last tournament was on the par 3 course, the winning score-6. That’s two hole in holes in 4 holes. This daily tournament the winning score is -7, that’s 3 eagles and a par in high wind. Scores are possible but highly highly questionable. If they will rig these scores like this, what else? I love this game and I love video golf. I’m level 41 so I’ve spent some time with this game. I just hate to see false scores knowing no matter how well we play NO ONE will finish first. Sad and crooked as hell.
So I will say I’m one of the people you’ll see with those scores all the time on PlayStation. It’s entirely possible without cheating, especially on the arcade and pro modes. ESPECIALLY with unlimited retries. When your character is maxed and your tempo is good it’s honestly not that crazy to shoot -6 or -7 on the 4 hole tournaments, depending on drivable par 4s and how many par fives your getting in that daily.
@@Red_Number_Golf. Thanks for the reply, you play at a level that I’m not familiar with. I’d really like to see a video of 2 holes in one on 4 holes, at my level that seems impossible
The game is way too easy! I never miss a fairway there is no skill involved in driving even with simulation on it should be harder and more chance to hook and slice the ball like in real life.
Bingo. They need to make the swing plane harder on the hard difficulty. A good first attempt at this new golf experience. Having fun but I still feel 2K is a better game.

How do you get that black point mark on your swing meter
Brilliant video going to make my life a lot easier thank you
Thanks for this useful info. Personally, I never play against other gamers online. I always play single player modes/games.
I needed this. THANK YOU!!! 😫
This is great info! Thank you! A minor suggestion, can you add in chapters for each section you are covering?

Think it's important to good your thumb horizontally as you've shown. If the thing is diagonal there's way too many variables 👌 ⛳

Same amount of xp! No penalty to doing challenges on arcade, and honestly makes them more fun lol
Sweet! arcade mode for challenges now..Thanks for the great tip brotha!!

Awesome video Kyle!
I still really struggle with telling when the ball will roll a lot or stop fairly quickly. Both on approaches and par 3s. Any tips on that?

Hi mate enjoyed the video. I was wondering if you could tell me the best way to generate some backspin?
Points in control and power! Then make sure you get specs on your clubs with control
Also adding loft to the shot will help with generating backspin

How come we can’t play a season with our friends online like in madden and other ea games that would be awesome

What is that Black line in your swing plane? Keep seeing it on gameplay videos and it drives me nuts because i cant find it anywhere in game
Why doesn’t my game have that tic on the swing swoosh?

Try using your thumb and index finger at 6 and 12 on the stkck.. i do and it helps stBilize the line
Having trouble getting the ball where I want on the greens. Feels like I always either hit it too short, or it doesn’t stop and eventually rolls off
Get some points in control, and I highly suggest getting specs on your irons and golf ball that have a lot of control
still stuck in career mode since game allways crashes durring lost hole of a playoff
Thanks!
I'm pretty sure at the time of this video there are no "lip out" physics in the game. Hopefully they will add it to the game soon.
Had a lip out multiple times even seen someone have one on a youtube video.

What the difference when using high vs low shots on the ball meter
higher shots will land softer and spin more, i.e release less. Low shots will come in hotter and release more!

How do these specs work exactly? Are the driver spec boosts only active when using the driver, or are they like passive boosts to your level?
Pretty sure it's just to the type of club or ball. They are definitely worth it.
