    Hey guys! In this video, I walk you through a basic tutorial on how to create a realistic rendering inside of Twinmotion. In future videos, we'll get more in-depth into Twinmotion's features, as well as how to make renderings more realistic. Leave a comment below and let me know what you thought! :)

      Hi Justin,
      Thanks for the tutorial. I have a model done in Archicad and synchronize with "no merge" and "no substitutions" options. It is sitting up above the twinmotion default ground. I couldn't make the change as you did in this tutorial. Am I doing something wrong ? Cheers.

      Hi Justin, I'm using Revit and don't see any tutorials here for that in particular. So my problem is that when I try to select the exterior staircase in TM and make it concrete it automatically selects the railing as well - which doesn't help at all. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for sharing. Twinmotion looks like a winner, easy to use, very realistic and hassle-free props. On top of all of that it’s free for now. It seems like a perfect fit for SU.
    The only downside is that you have to apply materials twice, once in SU and then again in twinmotion. Blender seems to have the edge there with full integration but of course Blender is a monster to learn and apply.

    • @TheRenderingEssentials
      @TheRenderingEssentials  5 лет назад

      I suppose the integration with Blender is nice, but it would mean you'd have to completely learn a new 3D modeling program that works very differently in SketchUp in some ways.
      Honestly, I've never struggled too much with replacing textures either in Twinmotion or Lumion (they both work in similar ways) - once you get used to applying your SketchUp textures in a way that's easily replaceable, it doesn't take very long. I suppose if you did it with a LOT of models it might get cumbersome, but I really think you'd end up spending just as much time in Blender trying to figure out all the node based settings...

    To place Trees along the line you Shif-Drag the first one to copy it (drag it into place along the line) and then change the number of copies in the "Copy-Window" that has opended.
    That way the software places lets say 5 more trees with the same distance and angle to the original one

  • @RedzwanulHuq

    Hi Justin, thanks for your great videos, I am just starting out on twin motion ( thanks to you pointing the program out) . One thing that I am not sure about is .... if the imported sketchup file has been changed ( further developed inside sketchup) ... can you synchronise / update the source model inside twin motion without overwriting all the improvements made in Twinmotion I.e. materials, lighting, landscape props etc? If yes how do you do that? Thanks David

    • @TheRenderingEssentials

    Great video! Question: do you have a video that explains how to control materials when bringing in a model from SketchUp (or even Rhino > SketchUp > TM)? Whenever I import a .skp, it fuses everything into one material and I can’t specifically select or change exact materials - the whole thing just turns one material. You have a video for this, or thoughts?

    • @TheRenderingEssentials

      I don't understand - do you have multiple materials inside your SketchUp models, then they all become one material in Twinmotion? Or you haven't applied materials in SketchUp and whenever you apply a material in Twinmotion it gets applied to your whole rendering?

In addition, clicking the mouse wheel down is often used to orbit in 3D programs. I have no idea if you can configure a mouse with no scroll wheel to mimic these actions. It's not really a "Mac" vs "PC" thing as much as certain peripherals perform better in certain applications...

      @@TheRenderingEssentials Understood, but I am a die hard Mac person, and have been using my mac mouse and even my stylus with SketchUp for years. Most of my other work is done using a Wacom tablet and stylus, and I work (somewhat ambidextrous) with the mouse in my right hand and the stylus (actually left-handed) in my left. I can move quickly this way without having to switch them out in the same hand. I will try again with Twinmotion, but if I can't quickly make the moves required, then I will have to chalk this one up to a loss, and carry on. Thank you ever so much though for your other amazing tutorials and yes... I did go to Patreon. Cheers.

    I think If you shift drag an object an option box appears for copying an object in a line😊

      You rock! That's exactly what I was looking for! (Though I do wish it was a bit more of a live placement rather than a menu box) - Thank you! :)

      @@TheRenderingEssentials Yeah I agree. Seems odd that they haven't utilised the custom path tool that they already have built in 🤷‍♂️ Hopefully the guys at epic get it sorted.
      Keep the great content coming man, we appreciate it👏

      Well usually it's either lighting sources aren't strong enough or exposure isn't high enough...

    Great video, I download the software, unfortunately, I had purchased Lumion can't tell you how I feel! Thanks for all your tutorials.

      Hi Stella! That's not a bad thing at all (I mean, obviously there's a cost component there) - at the moment, there are a lot of things that feel a lot more complete in Lumion, like the model library, the mass placement tool, the image export settings and more. Both are great programs :)

      I suppose we need to define "archviz" before we can have this conversation...

    Honestly twinmotion doesn't have high quality rendering like lumion but good side about twinmotion is it works without hanging even in an average pc with minimum graphic unlike lumion

    • @TheRenderingEssentials
      @TheRenderingEssentials  5 лет назад +2

      I don't think this is an accurate statement - Twinmotion's requirements are much closer to Lumion's than a program like Enscape or something like that. If you want to run Twinmotion quickly or have a decent view in the rendering pane, you're going to need more than just a standard PC...

      @@TheRenderingEssentials I do agree I find twinmotion quicker and no lag compared to lumion(ver 8.5) in my pc but render quality was not greatly satisfactory
