I would agree that Nanu did make a bad call and did not check if rowlett was truly knocked out but this wouldn't have the first time we've seen a pokemon lose a battle because of sleeping. It happened to Ashs squirtle in the indigo league.
One of the best parts of Sun and Moon is that, despite the art style, it's actually very mature in a lot of ways. Aside from the death of the Stoutland that Ash's Litten used to be friends with, which really sets the tone that beneath all the laidback fun there is an adult side to this series, the most notable display of this maturity is Lillie's arc. I don't think Laurie Hymes was the right person to voice Lillie in the English dub but the arc itself shows a remarkably real look at how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It's the last thing I would expect in a series with such a goofy art style but that works to its advantage. You can show it to children and they'll appreciate it even more when they grow up. Lillie doesn't just get over her fear of Pokemon. She has to work at it for a long time and even has a period of regression after making huge strides to get better. The scene in her bedroom where she tearfully apologises to Snowy for falling back into her previous mindset of not being able to touch Pokemon is a tragically realistic look at how the mind doesn't just get over a traumatic experience. It also shows the shame and helplessness that comes when you truly believed you were getting better, only to realise that you're back to where you started. Also Lusamine is awesome. Very different from the game versions but if this Lusamine went through the redemption arc that was attempted in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it would actually work. You can tell that she genuinely loves her children and by softening her up, the writers made her one of the most likeable characters in the series without making her unrecognisable. Her obsession with the Ultra Beasts is still there and when she regresses into an angry, spoiled child whilst fused with Nihilego, that's the game version of Lusamine but you know it isn't her true self. At her core, this Lusamine is a loving mother and her children are her first priority, which is emphasised when she throws herself between them and Nihilego without hesitation. Plus it helps that Lusamine's a MILF.
Great video! It's honestly hilarious how some people to this day keep claiming that Ash was reset and regressed in SM. Like, literally in the first episode of SM, Ash sweeps Team Skull LOL SM Ash is just in a more relaxed environment and he's enjoying life. SM is a tone shift from XY, not a regression.

Currently watching Sun and Moon series and ngl, I fell in love with it. Even if Ash's Rowlet manage to learn Bullet seed, I dont think Rowlet can perform it as good as Ash and Im surprised that he did it first try😂😂 Every Team rocket fails or almost succeeded, Beware always appear and takes them back to its lair. This had me rolling on the ground😂😂😂. Also I cant forget that time Beware went ultra instinct on Pheramosa, literally send chills down my spine🥶

To be honest when I first watch Pokemon Sun and Moon series with Ash caught both Rowlet and Litten I though they're going to evolved later in the series just liked Torterra and Infernape from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl series but sadly that never happen with just Torracat evolve to Incineroar. To be honest I originally thought that Ash's Rowlet will evolved later in Pokemon Sun and Moon Series just Ash's past first Pokemon he caught during his journey to other region just like his Butterfree, Swellow, Staraptor, Unfezant and Greninja, plus when I saw the third Pokemon Sun and Moon Series poster featuring Dartrix I assume that Ash's Rowlet was going to evolved next. But unfortunely that never happened and I really still blame the Japanese writers for not letting Ash's Rowlet to evolve in the first and keep it from evolving with the Everstone which is so unfair, I mean I know Rowlet is cute but I still prefer Decidueye because it's both a Grass/ Ghost type, it can still fly and it can have some powerful moves like Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Spirit Shackle and Frenzy Plant. And to be honest about two episode featuring Ash's Rowlet battling Hau's Decidueye in the Alola League Quarter final I still believe that Ash shouldn't have won his battle against Hau because Hau's Decidueye is well too powerful and it's a higher level while his Rowlet is a comedy and has a habit of sleeping in the battle. The only reason Ash won because the Japanese writer made that happen and wanted to prove that unevolved Pokemon can still defeat their evolved form which I don't really care about that anymore as this is annoying and waste of two episodes.
There are 3 reasons why ash won the alola's championship, first is because gamefreak make elio or serene the first champions, this forced the anime studios making ash as champion as well, the second reason why is because people grow tired of ash being the main protagonist in the anime, and the third reason why is the whole backlash of kalos's questionable defeat...
If I were I a trainer in Alola and play sun ☀️ and moon 🌙 I would the champion and my Pokemon would be this 1. Ash-Greninja Waterium Z 💧 2. Dusk Lycanroc Lycanium Z 🐺🪨 3. I still think that Gladion should have won the Alola League and become champion instead of Ash because he's more calm and focus in the battle as well as being patient, while Ash is alway too excited and impatient when he really wanted to have a Pokemon battle and he sometimes doesn't think things through like Gladion do.
