Initial D Special Stage contains a story mode that allows the player to reenact racing scenes from the Initial D manga series, as well as several new courses that's not seen in the arcade versions of the game. In one of these courses, Shomaru went on to appear in Initial D Arcade Stage Ver.3.

You can tell this was released before the end of the manga’s “Stage Four”, as the s2000 and r34 don’t have the God Hand and God Foot manga pics respectively.

We only got to play this in arcades over here in the UK, we have a card we could update our spec and what level we was on.
I can't find the cards anymore, it common in Japan though.

We have initial D arcades in Ukraine... but, they are broken, I mean, after the race it freezes, so we have new arcades (non-initial D) ;c

Steven K. Yes, It is really good :-) I watched with local language subtitles. It is not very known movie but I am happy that i found it via PlayStation game (in fact I dont played game) but perharps i will burn it because i have mod chipped PS2 :-) Movie is available in Japan language or English

I was wondering how you managed to get a 200m advantage on Itsuki in the first battle, but a comment made me see that speed really DOESN'T go down when taking a corner, while in the PSP version, you do, making you have to learn tactics to take a corner with minimal lost speed, weird.

even though it seems to be a cheap gran turismo type game, it looks slightly addictive,i have a modded chunky ps2,i aslo have Mcboot and i have fitted a 250gb hard drive in to my ps2,way better than all these modern consoles..
Its more than that. Its based off a popular Anime/Manga called Initial D. Its all about drifting and street racing.
It's similar to Gran Turismo but faster and has more of a story plot.

It's ironic. Typically when a game is based off the anime, they usually follow the plot/character roster to a T. So explain to me this; where was that R34 driver that ran against Keisuke and the doctor that drove the S2000? And before someone says there was no drivers from season 4, there was that driver from the EK9, the Integra, and even the Altezza. I even think that Suzuki driver is in.
it's based on the manga more rather than the anime,which is why some drivers like God Arm are missing.

Addy yang is correct PCGamer90x. Japanese PS2 games will not work on a U.S. manufactured PS2. Unless you acquire Swap Magic, or a Japanese PS2 console, you are out of luck.
