26:51 thank you both again. So incredibly beautiful. I very much enjoy the reality experienced with those like me who watch from far away. May God bless and watch over you both.
I have always planned on circumnavigating the American continents and when I saw the Patagonia location in one of your titles that came up in the RUclips feed, I had to watch. You have NO PROBLEMO finding beautiful subject matter to record in Patagonia! I’ve watched a few of your’s and then I came to this one! Your opening scene is absolutely awesome! The beautiful drone footage of the fjord with glass smooth water making a J-46 look rather small all of a sudden! I can only imagine how long the editing process is but when you find a musical score to match this one, you have got a gold mine! And the rest of this vlog is equally as good! The dolphins in the fjord are amazing to watch. If you have a hydrophone speaker you could drop in the water and play music on, it would be interesting to watch to see if the dolphins respond to it. It might make a difference as to what type of music you play for a favorable response. I’m sure you can find the right stuff! You might want to consider turning off your depth finder when dolphins show up.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. It's definitely bringing smiles to our faces! Best of luck in your adventure/circumnavigation! Hopefully more dolphins to come :)
The opening is spectacular! The choice of music put together with the scenery showed the utter silence that we could sense. It minded us of our trip to Iceland, where there was no civilization and there was the total quiet.
I haven't been back to 46° North, where i was a child, in over 30 years. But I seem to be stuck in a brown barron desert now. I am a huge fan of yours and Alluring Artic Abventures. Right now he is way over 50° north. and I am living vicariously through both your channels reminding me of cold trechoris weather.
Just getting caught up after returning from Iceland, Faroes, and Norway - though on something a bit bigger than Sweet Ruca 😂 Lovely videography and soundtrack of a stunning part of the world. Ice must be a bit disconcerting, when not where it belongs in your G&T!
Breathtaking views of the mountains you were able to capture. Roxy looks like she enjoyed all the hiking. Drone footage was amazing, national geographic would love this footage. So exciting to see the dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Job well done
Beautiful. Was good to see Tom and Hannah come by. Kate you sure have mastered the editing and blending of music with these videos. Can't really say you are lucky to see this part of the world because you have earned it. Keep having fun, stay warm and stay safe. Bill
In my younger days we boated on Erie out of Long Point and to watch your adventures and see the skill of both of you truly makes me feel I am back on board. Thanks so much for sharing , good luck and fair winds.
Absolutely incredible cinematography, editing and music in the opening scene. Worthy of a fine Japanese film. Great work you two! Patagonia is a stunningly beautiful place to sail, I'd take it over the South Pacific! And I just spent 6 months sailing in French Polynesia. Thanks, Ben S/V DAWN
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️, you guys. The opening sequence footage was most spectacular ❤ Great editing, Kate. Wise decision to not proceed further into the ice. Great to see the captain should responsibility not just for the crew, yet also for the equipment. 👍🏻👏🏻 I believe the dolphins were just as happy to see you guys as you were to see them......maybe more so by the exhibition they displayed. What memories you two are creating.🎉🎉🎉 See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ ❄️ ☃️ 🌞 ✨
Wow! Unbelievably beautiful. Thanks for bringing it to us. Also thanks to Argentina and Chile for for preserving them but also allowing us to enjoy them.
In Canada we all those “ burgy bits”! On thing you want to be careful of other than running into them is if there is a significant quantity of burgy bits and a wind comes up you can end up with a pack ice blockade ?
Love the very cool intro with the music, playing the unique music of different places around the world is good. That area really has cool music with the flutes and ECT...
K&C, Wow, this #119 video ranks in the top-ten of those you've published so far. The intro drone footage with wonderful choice of music, and some amazing editing was really professional-class. Thank you for bringing this side of the unknown world to us, and in such a beautiful way!
Incredible natural beauty. Great storytelling, montage. And the day a dingy became an ice breaker. As to water freezing over, it needs to cool down significantly below freezing point, except when ice crystals - think "seeds" - are already in the water. As the water here is full of seeds, -2C or 28.4F is enough to freeze it over
My days sailing among the glaciers in Prince William Sound, Alaska taught me to avoid glacier ice for use in beverages. The ice is filled with glacier flour (ground rock), which will make any cocktail far too gritty to enjoy! Moreover, the “bergie bits” can slice up the gelcoat in a hurry! Sure do love your channel!
Mind-blowing footage. Thank y’all so very much for bringing Patagonia to us. This episode was perfectly edited. It was awesome as all get out. I could even smell the fried onions 😋.
Your vids just get better and better . . . unique is often an over used word, but the mountain shots during the first few minutes show what a truly unique place your are in. Long may it remain so !!
WOW! Many, many, many thanks for sharing this incredible place with us!! Easy to see how much you're all enjoying this unique place. MUCH more interesting than going through the Panama chanel :) Well done, enjoy it to the fullest! Fair winds! See you next weekend!
Beware of raw water from springs. Although there are no farms, there are wild animals, and the soil and plants also have bacteria. In survival courses they teach you that the water that touched the ground should be considered contaminated unless there is previous experience with that particular spring. In general, the springs in Patagonia are safe, many even have installations made by the fishermen with funnels and hoses to fill the water tank of their boats, however, while you navigate in uninhabited areas, the recommendation is to chlorinate the water before drinking it. Every time I fill the boat's water tank from those springs, I add a small amount of chlorine to the water to make sure it's drinkable.
I know different people have different risk tolerances, but I've spent much of my life in the backcountry and I've long risked it if close to the source and no cattle in the area, never has a problem yet. Yes, there's the off chance a wild animal could have died upstream, but so long as there is no agricultural or cattle in the area, the risk really is quite low.
@@costakeith9048 That's why I said that most of the springs in Patagonia are safe. Everyone sees how much risk they want to take, for a little chlorine in the water tank I prefer to reduce the risk, the cost of chlorine is so low that it is not worth the risk
@@costakeith9048 The danger in TdF is Giardia or 'Beaver Fever'. Introduced for their fur over 100 years ago beavers are now a pest - and they carry and spread giardia. I've had two friends get it in the south - one ended up in hospital in Puerto Williams. Water straight off a glacier is fine but best to avoid taking water anywhere east of Cta Brecknock. where there is a fishermen's watering spot. The town water in Puerto Williams is treated and is potable.
Once upon a time TV companies would send out whole teams to film these places, now we can see even more remote places courtesy of You-Tube travellers and drones allow aerial footage in an amount the old TV companies could never have afforded the helicopter hours for....
Unbelievable beauty..power..magnificence. Any wildlife on shore? Fishing...is it good? Do you ever see any people other than tour boats?..can you melt the ice and drink it? Is it good cocktail ice?
poor Roxie is starting to have a hard time getting around. holy hell that's some beautiful country. I didn't see any roads/buildings/civilization beyond Sweet Ruca, thanks for showing me! edit: the mast on that Dazcat seems really far back. It must work but I wonder why they built it that way?
Just out of curiosity, why shore lines in that particular location at the beginning of the video? Seemed like a nice anchorage, or is way too deep as it gets far from shore?
In some places such as this one, you can swing, but bottom holding isn't always reliable and a few strong trees can help you sleep a little more sound at night. Also, without swinging, we prevent the likelyhood of drifting into a rock, or in this case, iceberg. Lets scraping of the chain on the bottom or wrapping the anchor around lots of kelp.. Thanks for the question!
Going thru patagonia and all of the ice, you put the phone up showing a quick picture around 19:30.....what the heck was that a picture of? Kept rewinding but couldn't figure it out.....what was that????
Great!!! Brilliant editing - - wonderful views. Thank you Just read some of your blog and sailing plans - I'll be along for the ride! What I liked best however was that your personalties seemed to come thu on this one. Cooking with Curtis, Hahahaha. I've also been inspired by the big name channels you mention in your video description - and now that I'm semiretired I bought a boat!! ruclips.net/video/XQadtqeD11s/видео.html
EXCELLENT.. On ALL Accounts, footage, music, scenery, all of it is PBS worthy…!!! 😎👍👏👌🥳
Wow! Thanks for the huge compliment! Maybe some day...

Best photography yet. Sailing Florence couldn't do much better
Mindboggling indeed.
🤯
Seeing dolphins never gets old, does it?!
Never :-)
Great video. Such a pretty place. When your smoke alarm went off my wife said “welcome to our world, we do that on the regular.” 😊
Haha this made us laugh. Kate is always setting it off so of course she had to include Curtis doing the same ;)
Heavens! What an opening.

Brilliant episode guys……👍

Thank you so much... There is no place more beautiful. You guys are the best.

Crazy good intro scenes! And it just kept coming. The views from the walk were speccy.
The dolfins are so fast it's just amazing.
Curtis and Kate are my Favorite sailors. And Roxy is my spirit animal, I think. lol😂
👏👏👏
Wow, maybe one of the best sailing videos I’ve seen on RUclips yet!
As a follower of your adventures, meeting Kate and Roxy in Puerto Montt was a happy moment. Stay safe guys, and enjoy the journey.
Our pleasure!

Your intro film was unbelievable. You three are amazing. Thanks for taking us along. 😅
La Patagonia è semplicemente e spettacolarmente emozionante!!!
Your cocktail may be cooled with10,000 year old ice. Too cool. A great adventure, enjoy from an old sailor.

Best yet. Congratulations. You guys are the real deal.
Unboud by convention, you guys are artists. I wish you all the best. And thank the supporters of This excursion.
Thank you for such a stunning video. I couldn't help thinking about old Captain Joshua Slocum when watching this episode in your journey.
Thanks! That's a nice compliment!

Outstanding photography of truly spectacular scenery people. Your best yet. Thank you.

Fantastic scenery!!!
💯⛵
What an incredible experience! The filming and editing are awesome! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
Thanks for the kind words!
😃👍👍👍❤ Absolutely fabulous aerial photography! Following from Seattle, WA
Sweet Ruca can handle thin ice far better than the inflatable. I would be worried abut cutting a tube on the ice.

Another great one. Thanks.

Roxy, I have a feeling we’re not in Ohio anymore
Looks beautiful, but living in a cold climate tells me mixing cold & water, is miserable..
We wondered this as well. But the awe of it all sometimes takes the cold bite away :)
What kind of wild animals do you have to look out for when your hiking around in the forest like this in South America?
There is nothing too dangerous in the woods in the islands of Patagonia.
Your successful in scaring the bejesus out of me. Scenery is great. BUT.
I don’t get the appeal of being in the cold. It looks like a miserable place to be.🥶

No, but good eye, she had some nerve damage, hence the goofy smile.
No harmful parasites/microbes in the water you were drinking? 🤔
We are still alive ;-)
Ok, your dog is lacking in some minerals. See what might be missing from his diet. This is very common in animals that spend a lot of time on board.
Man great video yo, but the intrusive ad in the middle is a real let down and wrecks the art. This is an experience.
