Wow, just wow! You must have been pinching yourselves at just perfectly the dolphins choreographed themselves into the drone footage. Simply wonderful ❤ The Caletas are a unique and charming aspect of the Southern Fjords, like perfect campsites for boats.
Wasn't sailing for 30 years and bought an old nicholson 32 from 1965 in good shape and sailed her 122 miles on the irish sea and the skills are stil in me, that boat is very capabele
I'm watching this video for the 2nd time. This time on my 80" big screen TV. It's as though I'm right there with you all. Just beautiful. Thank you so much for including me on your journey ❤
As someone said - "The beginning is memorable!" . We see many videos that bring back memories of our own Pacific sailing, but your stuff makes us ENVY you! (Highest quality editing too.) Thank you.
What an amazing place. This is something to cherish for the rest of your lives. The further away from society the more alive and beautiful it is and feels.
Amazing scenery and wildlife. NatGeo quality editing from Kate. So much to like about this video. Kate always has a smile. Curtis spot on logic about taking it slow and smelling the roses. Best sailing channel on RUclips. Sweet Ruca sign at the end was the perfect finish. Keep having fun, stay warm and stay safe. Bill
Fabulous cinematic opening, such a feast for the senses. Perhaps you could try an entire vlog with music and subtitles... Just a thought... Enjoy watching and learning from true sailors.... You both have made the horn... Fare winds dear friends.
Wow! You sure know how to pick great anchorages! Love your sailing adventures. So look forward to seeing your videos. You guys make it real! Such an inspiration to follow quality modern day explorers. You guys prove sailing can be fun without being a party boat, bar hopping through your voyage. I follow a dozen sailing channels since retiring 5 years ago, and am proud to say your is # 1 in IMO. Love how you share your adventure of living out your dreams. Thanks! Loved the drone footage of the dolphins in your front yard! That is the best I have ever seen! You two are blessed more than you know to be experiencing this amazing adventure. Yeah, slow down and enjoy it. Keep the videos coming Kate! You may only pass this way but once. Love the contacts with the Armada stations, good to hear of caring people caring for people. That is a special kindness gesture little seen in our world today. Be safe out on those icy cold waters!
Haha! Such a cool comment. We can still party. ;) So nice of you to have us ranked so high. We work hard and these comments encourage us to keep working! Cheers and fair winds!
Great video, knowing it is winter down there. We made it across the Atlantic from Bermuda to Sao Miguel, Azores in 40+ days, having two depressions, one cyclone, and becalmed for days and days and days, headed to Brazil, but not Cape Horn.
Hey, maybe someday you will be cruising with your fantastic vessel in our neck of the woods, about 250 KM north of Seattle. We would welcome you in our home and maybe you would want to try out our boat, a Panda 40 cutter by Perry of Seattle. We would love to meet you in person, as we know you already. Keep it up, just love your style !!! Stay safe and enjoy Patagonia. Cheers, Bonnie and Wilf👍👍👍☮
Hi Bonnie and Wilf! We may head that way someday and would surely take you up on your offer. We have had thoughts of Alaska and the Northwest Passage! Sounds like you have a very cool boat! We may have read all of Perry's articles in Sailing magazine! Cheers & stay in touch!
When you were planning to round Cape Horn in winter I thought you were mad but couldn’t wait. Then you did it in relatively calm conditions but it got scary on your return. Undeterred you decided to go again in a catamaran under motor power with calm conditions. Patagonia is breathtakingly beautiful and your camerawork brings that home. Love your work.
Commerson's dolphins! Very rare and you found them in one of about two areas separated by 130 degrees of longitude. With the exception of Sea World's Aquatica in Orlando. LOL I'm working on catching up to where you are now, but I just want to drop a word of encouragement and thanks. Thank you for always thinking of the viewer at home and bringing us along as if we were with you. Rest assured, this viewer is. I also have a little channel and know what a massively time consuming thing it is to shoot, edit, render, upload and then do all the YT settings for a video and then get it flowing onto social media channels. So thank you. Fair winds and following seas.
Thankyou this is such beautiful seemingly untouched wild country so to speak. Even though there's sign of other's leaving behind their time there it's still incredible. When it comes to sailing adventures you two are in my eyes putting the other You Tubers to an embarrassing shame. Sure the sun and warm weather's nice, but what you are doing is an adventure and you are really taking the bad and the good in weather and what it gives you. Stay safe and warm see you next video
After the epic opening of this video at the 4:52 mark I expected Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) to walk out of the wilderness in a T-Shirt, help Kate undo the shore ties and ask for a ride to the nearest town. Theater quality with this video.
Good thing you filmed the Dolphins. Otherwise no one would believe you :) Just amazed at how few people & boats are down there. A real contrast to Norte America.
Aaaaaaaaamazing ‼️ 👍🏻 Yet to answer your question.........N.O., could not live there. Thanks for sharing some amazing scenery. See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ ❄️ ☃️ 🌞 ✨
On the islands of the Chiloé archipelago, it is the woman who rows, who cultivates the land, who splits the firewood, because the man considers that these are light jobs that women do, in addition to all the housework. Instead, the man does "heavy" tasks like steering the boat, adjusting the sails, and smoking a cigarette. Watching her unmoor the boat and hoist the dinghy while he steers makes me think that the customs of the Chilotes are rubbing off on her. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Ice build up hasn't been too bad. Just about every day we use a shammy absorbant towel. It works wonders! Keeping the heat on in the boat also helps to reduce the condensation, but it never truly goes away!
I love how you need to justify motoring directly into a 20-knot freezing headwind that wouldn't allow you to watch what you came to the ends of the earth to see. We all know you are burly sailors. Epic footage. Thanks.
It is a joy to see all those names of boats on memory boards telling us that many have their priorities in the right order, As ever just brilliant editing and a great sound track. I was thinking to suggest Pat Metheny’s To the end of the earth! But you did better. Safe sailing and thank you for taking us as your guests.
As my granddaughter age seven rarely states when she is most impressed, 100 out of a 100. Great job guys. SV Skoiern IV
Your photography is amazing, you have created such a wonderful channel
Another awesome video. I am so glad you're able to share.
What a fantastic intro, I was mesmerized. The music was perfect.
Thank you! Can't please everyone so it's nice to hear the positivity :)
The hosts who come to your visit are very friendly.
Your 100% right... I could live there...! Stunning... Thanks for sharing... Be safe you two...
Our pleasure!
Hard to describe the good feelings that come over me when I watched this vid. Breathtaking? Dunno! Thx guys. Much respect.
Glad to hear this! You're welcome. Respect!
Kate on the radio: "we are out here in the wilderness" - I think this is where you guys belong.
We agree!
Wow, just wow! You must have been pinching yourselves at just perfectly the dolphins choreographed themselves into the drone footage. Simply wonderful ❤
The Caletas are a unique and charming aspect of the Southern Fjords, like perfect campsites for boats.
They really are!
Are you kidding me!?!? The beginning looks like it is from a block-buster movie like Avatar or something! Wow!!!
Thanks! What a compliment!
Love the fast forward
Drone footage was cinema quality.. what a show ..
Thank you! That means a lot
Epic in the bay with the golphins.

Wow. You did it again. This intro is amazing. Thank you again.
Listening Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here and singing along wish I was there, la la la....
Excellent music choice!
Fabulous, peaceful, certainly away from the rest of humanity. Wish I were there. Great video, and wishing you two the best cruising. Thanks

Great choice of music 👍🏻
Yet again the beginning is mazing and the rest of it of course ! Thank you so much !
Stunning wild part of the world, cruised there in 2001
Excellent! I bet it was even more magical then! Did you leave a sign in one of the Caletas? If so maybe captured it on video.
Very nice video. We sailed there in November 2022. You got our sign in Caleton Silva :-D
So cool!
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤
The beginning of this episode is memorable . . . .many thanks to you THREE !!

Great video. It’s beautiful when the sun is out but I would struggle with the constant overcast and rain. I need a lot of Sun to be happy.
👍👍👍Great music to great filming !!! Do you ever fish ? You guys are just fantastic !!! From Powell River in British Columbia, Canada.❤

Quite outstanding video creation. How long did you go without refueling? All that motoring and running the diesel heater must use a fair bit.
Our next stop after Puerto Williams will be Puerto Eden, about 600 miles up the fjords.
Hello Sweet Ruca crew glad to see you.
👍 Thanks!
👏👏👏
Do you ever get ice build up on deck? How do you keep interior condensation from forming and causing mold?
Ice build up hasn't been too bad. Just about every day we use a shammy absorbant towel. It works wonders! Keeping the heat on in the boat also helps to reduce the condensation, but it never truly goes away!

In these anchorages, how big are the swings in high/low tide? Is it as dramatic as it might be in the Alaskan Fjords?
