Love it, reminds me when I listend to this in Montreal in Canada winter 2013, walking around downtown in the freezing cold glad to be there. Now I am back in Scotland, weird, BOC are from Scotland and their music totally evokes my feelings of when in Canada.
+- Waterbearer95 Hi you are lucky, it is a lovely part of the world, I miss it a lot, especially the blue winter skies. Even your proper winters, here it is almost spring now, we had no winter to speak of! :(
James Abell As I type this it's like -40c here right now!!!! It's crazy. But I admit I love it :} Because it forces you to get all comfy inside with hot chocolate, listening to BoC. hehehe. I want to go to Scotland :(
I totally agree. If you go on BoC pages website and read about the samples and the meaning of the song names, time signatures, track length etc. It is mind blowing ... those guys were/are ligit geniuses, and way more going on than we could ever imagine.
RIGHT! the music speaks to me on a very special level. and it seems to do so to everyone. there is something very important hidden behind this type pf art
i have such respect for BoC for going for such a long time and not altering their sound , yet it's still so fresh listening to the new stuff ! most pleasing .
This makes me want to walk, alone, in a plain, in some barrens in the dead of winter. There's no snow, and it's not particularly cold. The sky is a greyish blue, and the greenery is dead. All I hear is the wind, my boots crunching along the grass, and this song. The clouds are passing at an insanely high speed. My journey never ends.
This album is a grower. Been listening to BOC for years and on the first couple of listens , I really thought they hadnt made much of an effort here. It's great, eventually.
This is "my" favorite song on there new album.. I'v listened to the whole thing 100's of times by now, and every time i just have this forlorn feeling of coldness.. This track especially screams dolefulness. Makes me ponder, that there next album is going to be even darker with despair......
404UsernameNotFoundX man I used to feel relaxed but now that I got deep in their music ansd interviews I'm always searching for meanings, and this song and telepath, uritual and nothing is real ilustrates to me something unique, it is among the most serious music that I listen to, a lot of blurred emotions, nostalgia and fear...
I love this video. Very good job, my friend. The nostalgia is on point and the video well made. It is videos like these that keep the imagination that surrounds BOC alive.
I think I finally found out what the chorus vocal sample is saying.. "you and me both get hurt when you act mean". I have Goosebumps and it's got that white water vibe which is probably why I like this song as the favorite on the album
With all Boards of Canada releases, it flies right over my head first listen. Same with Tomorrow's Harvest. But on my second listen, it stood out and I liked it. Third listen I thought it really lived up to the rest of their discography. It was worth the money and worth the time. It lived up to my expectations.
+Vin kie We're inseparable. We're like peanut butter and mustard. This mango will be my new favorite mango, discarding every previous "favorite" mango I have had in my mango collection. You hold a very special place in my shoe box, new friend. Thank you, for everything.
In one of their few print interviews they said they spent a lot of time trying to find a singular vintage effects unit to get a specific sound. They said they only used the sound for 1 second on this song. I wonder what it is.

This is a fantastic collection of footage to pair with "Cold Earth". I think you've done a fantastic job. So tasteful and utterly appropriate. I am sharing this one.
My 8th grade geology teacher showed us film slides from when he surveyed lands in the Alaskan wilderness during the 1970s for some oil company. Something about those barren grainy pictures...
+Humandavid1 This sounds like it could have come out in the mid 90's, evoking the geopolitical "M.A.D."ness of the late 50's early 60's . Cold Earth as in nuclear winter cold ?
I heard a song from Campfire Headphase on a NPR ad. I'm guessing BOC will only give rights to stuff like NPR for advertising. A few bands like Air and Stereolab sold their songs for car ads and I can't say I blame them.
For people with any kind of rhythm or other sound-based synesthesia, Boards of Canada is like the very best quality chocolate in music form... While I have synesthesia, my type is overwhelmingly lexical-gustatory (meaning I "taste" languages), with a small bit of overlap into seeing certain musical notes and rhythms as very distinct shapes and patterns (I forget the technical term for that type...). I often wish i had a stronger synesthetic response to music, tho - I wanna experience music like this the same way my sister does - she has full-blown musical-shape/pattern synesthesia, and its intensity varies with volume - to the point that if it's too loud in the car she actually can't see very well cuz her synesthetic responses obstruct her visual field and distract her.
Ok weird thing I noticed... so the little girl that says "4!!" so clearly pronounced as apposed to the other numbers she says... is it just a coincidence that this is the fourth album by BOC?
Good music for everyone: Adults, kids, baby's naptime, sad dogs, cranky cats.
*****
sad dogs enjoy this too
Its currently January 2024, and still no new album. But still listening to TH!
I have said it many times but truth is truth...fans of BoC are the most beautiful people on earth.
All we all belong together in a beautiful place in the country.
TheWinterShadow Amen to that my friend!
Cue Rudy Giuliani...
Aw thank you
people who can love and understand this music are often high sensitive ones, so i have to agree ;)
I've never met anyone who can feel the same way I do about this kind of music.
Kevin Santiago same here mate. I know how you feel
Here we are... alone in this planet. Yet we know there is so many of us feeling this same nostalgia.
Reminds me of videos games that have past.
Kevin Santiago hello :D
dw we exist haha
Their music affects me inside, I can hear Nature and Childhood in there, they are serious musicians!
I hear the aftermath of a nuclear war
I hear the future good and bad

I'm in Northern California and in the winter Tahoe And Truckee this music is a magical match!!
BOC moves me on a primal level..feelings bubble to the surface i had no idea were buried within me...beyond artistry..this is something bigger.

BoC wounds, heals and elevates at the same time. It's like nature is talking to your soul through mathematics and vibrations.
Wow, spot on. 💞
Tomorrow's Harvest is full of gems! This is one of them.
1:23 OMG perfection!!

There is nothing like boc, pure feelings

Nice image you painted
a lot of BOC makes me think of natives in Canada, the Inuit, their way of life and nature.. its kind of enchanting
this takes me back to that place, full of mistery and ....
.....Optimism, in times of crisis. Keeping your sanity is so important now as ever was.
I love how almost all BoC videos are fan-made and are all incredible.
This album is a grower. Been listening to BOC for years and on the first couple of listens , I really thought they hadnt made much of an effort here. It's great, eventually.
It's so intricate, it's more conceptually-cohesive than geogaddi, which is no small effort
This is actually one of the best songs I’ve ever heard I keep listening to it back to back to back to back and it gets better every time
From raising reindeers in the tundras to building weapons of mass destruction. One world, different perspectives.
Or maybe it's just exchanging one winter for another kind of winter.

they made it apparently with sick times in mind. economically or socially or concerned with globoal warming? who knows
The end to this video feels very relevant right now!
Go to BoC Pages website and read the info about the (Tom Harvest) tracks as you play them ... it will blow your mind.
a great video for one of the best pieces on the album. very good work.
1:45 when they change up the percussion. Flawless.
I don't know what it is about BoC's music, but it is really relaxing.
Only if ASMR truly has no real meaning anymore

One of the most profound songs ever ❤
The video fits the song so well
1:45
that crunchy drum beat is so good
That spoken bit at the end works so well!
Great track great visuals !

I remember reading that interview too. I reckon that sound is at 1:55
One of the best moments of the last eight years was my child being born, the best was the latest BOC album being released... :D
i cant even explain how this marked my life

Tommy Morrison!
i came after seeing Tommy Morrison
def my favorite track on the new disk. Another amazing bleak soundscape from the masters.
Great work on the video! Edited quite well, definitely matches the feeling of the track. Cheers for putting the effort into the upload
Absolutely incredible.
A little treat, every new BOC album is like Christmas day for me, I honestly get that exited!
5 more days
@@Lav3nd3rForest Ehh? New album? I’m out of touch evidently!
wow, just wow. usually artists die off after the 2nd or 3rd album, not Boards. This album just as good as all the rest. good up
i agree , this is a cracking tune by the boc and the video clip is also well put together!!
This is amazing. The beginning just makes me explode..
woah, this came out a year ago? time flies.
I should make a B-movie..."Time Flies"

THIS IS SACRED
The best part of this track is from 0:00 to 3:50
boards of canada always, to me at least, reminded me of fallout for some reason. this video and editing only reaffirms my feelings on the matter.
Yes. They remind me of radioactive particles and debris as well.
Yet another amazing track from BoC... love the album like it came out yesterday..
Very nicely put together. fitting to the mood & theme of the album.
First fan video for the new album! Nice work.
The way the track fades out at the end , leaving that main synth progression to say it's final statement... In the most morphed, almost callous way
Wow! Mesmerizing!
This was my favourite on the album. As I was listening through, this track came up and that was the point I said "Fuck, yes. BOC are back."
That's true. And I appreciate the work you put into this.
this track and new seeds plays on NPR quite often, actually...
I heard a song from Campfire Headphase on a NPR ad. I'm guessing BOC will only give rights to stuff like NPR for advertising. A few bands like Air and Stereolab sold their songs for car ads and I can't say I blame them.
vista7 Boards of canada has had a few commercial placements including kid for today in a bmw commercial.
This song is one of my very favorites!
one of the best boc songs
This is my favorite track on the new album and this video goes so well with it cheers!
The First Man to step through God's window's name: the "Future's Certain Despair" at 1:43.
I find Tomorrow's Harvest to be the most repeat-listenable of all their albums.
dont stop dreaming ken, great work
dont know how many times youve heard the album but on about your 6th listen youll hear that boc still do it
good job man i wouldnt say it was a run of the mill BoC video at all, made me feel a little cold haha
I think you've met the impression of the music with a very good video idea, nice work

That ending.
haha great ending. well done sir! I, and everyone else, will be hard-pressed to find a more fitting sequence for this track.

Very fitting video for a great song. Nicely done!
it's a long way to the shopping center from here
Arguably the BEST track on Tomorrow's Harvest.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!
