Although space is entirely void of anything that could transmit sound waves, i choose to believe this is what space sounds like. Drifting around, solely living off the sun's energy... That lonely space vehicle, soaring into nothingness, into a dark, empty, cold, but entirely welcoming obscure mantle... I wish i could visit space man.
+Bluelight Spike I got good news for you brother, you're already drifting around space on spaceship Earth as it revolves around its sun and its sun follows its own revolution around the Milky Way galaxy, and the galaxy is also in motion. Happy travels brother. Keep a bowl lit so you can find your way in the dark.
+SuburbanoidMisfit111 Lit Bowl in hand, i humbly accept my task as silent explorer: Nothing i see, hear or experience will ever be heard off again. It's a personal, beautiful and terrifying journey based solely upon my need to know the meaning of "Beyond". A dark, intimate, cold and humming journey is ahead of me... And i can't take anybody with me. Just my wishes, a plant, and the sheer need to know "What os beyond the ink of nothingness".
I’m a boards vet, having first heard some of their demo work in around ‘94/95. I’ve never looked back, their music is just incredible to me. I will admit though that I’m not a huge fan of some the fan covers, reworking’s that are out there, but this, this is special and incredibly surreal and atmospheric. It’s at just the right length too. I never thought I’d hear Olson like this. Magic! Oh, and the pic of the two Saab J-35 Draken is superb! Happy bunny.
HI i came to Boards of Canada about 5 years ago or a bit more. dont know how i missed them. Berwyn music have some beautiful covers of Tears from compound eye and farewell fire
All those childhood memories, those fun arcades and malls that were demolished before the end of the 2000s still exist. They’re just in the dimension that time forgot.
I'm a BOC fan and I love it, well done Hawker - It's hard to believe how many creative rabbit holes this wonderfully short minute and half track has been up and down over the years, I'm sure there's more out there.
Dr Penguin agreed my brother! Thanks for commenting... 🙏🏾. It brought me back to listen, wrote this comment 4 years ago and this is giving me everything I need right now 👑💪🏾. Thank you bro
You should download paulstretch and see what you can find! It is easy to immediately use, and then hard to get to the part where you can actually work with it. It actually makes me jamming with my friends on portable keyboards sound really pretty.
The massive roar at the very beginning makes me afraid to fly. I'm imagining this to be like murmurs from God's mouth speaking in His own language when He was creating the universe on the accounts of Genesis. Magnificent.
Matthew "Crazy Wolf" Guillen so I couldnt help but notice you are a furreh too? :3 (and yeah, BoC is one of my favourite makers of music x3 glad to see you like them too!)
ImpyLane I'm actually not, but I really like wolves, and am not bothered by furries. :) And Boards of Canada is for sure a unique sound. It gets my creativity flowing. :D
I'll never be a pilot, but one of my genuine dreams that i want to come true is me as a passenger maybe, in one of those fighter jets, soaring high above the clouds during a sunset from my perspective, seeing the never-ending indigo, pink and sun-lit sky, turning to a dark, rich shade of blue behind me and just taking in that moment. I don't want to pass away without feeling that at least once in my life. Just the thought of it empties my mind and brings me at peace, realising how wonderful our world and existing in it can be. - Take care.
I've discovered this treasure a few years ago and I'm happy I did. If anyone's interested in more "music" like this, i recommend you to go to the last song of Lord Huron's new album. It's called "Time's blur" and it immediately reminded me of this track. Let me know what you think, if you heard it!
You can lose yourself in their arrangements for sure. I spent a couple weeks analysing some of their tracks and the use of harmony, melody and submelodies is quite insane when you break it down. It all flows effortlessly but the word genius for these guys is absolutely justified in my opinion. It's almost mathematical precision in some cases that blew my mind. On another realm musically.
My philosophical self is kicking in as I listen to this music.I just want to say something deep but I know I can put into words what I am imagining. It's almost like a dream.I feel like I am on drugs. It's times like this I wish I was taken inside an alien spaceship so I could fly through space and time without a destination.
i prefer it to the original. paul's extreme soundstretch? the image fits perfectly. what is it about peaceful music juxtaposed with images of tools of destruction? i'm not sure...but it works!
I like this picture. At first I thought: why would there be military planes on such a peaceful song. But perhaps it's a reminder not to stay ignorant and naive. The world is dangerous. Yet beautiful music does exist.
What software did you use to do this? I normally use sony vegas for everything I do but making things slower makes it sound like shit. This sounds good, so I'm curious
there was this program for windows that could mathematically slow down songs.. i remember slowing justing bieber songs and they have sounded amazing.. does anyone knows the name of the software?
If you like this music, and want to form a band like this, hit me up. BoC is my favorite band of all time (tied with one other). I'm looking for the Michael to my Marcus, the Kai to my Dom, the Sean to my Rob, the Martin to my Alan and the John to my Lou. If you get all the above references, we'll get on well. I can send some of my music and you can do the same. Realizing the power of a duo. xxx
This image is pretty fitting, I feel like the guy in the jet, soaring into the sunset, hearing the low hum of my engine as I speed away into tomorrow
Okay you put happy thoughts in my mind... This quote is damn beautiful!
Aint no low hum in a jet
...Not that anyone's asking about the beautiful picture, sadly, but for future's sake those fighter aircraft are the Saab J-35 Draken. An indigenous cold war fighter manufactured by and for Sweden's Air Force.

It has to be one of my favorite planes of all time
The Draken is a beautiful machine. Sweden made some great planes,
Swedish aircraft are the most beautiful in my opinion.
I used to work for the company that manufactured these jets. They're my fav, these Drakens. Man, also Olson being slowed down is just hypnotic.
Saab 4 life
I feel like butter melting on top of a big ol' pile of flapjacks

Yeah. I know that.
I was just trying to be nice n shit.
+Bluelight Spike Well I agree, I wish to visit space too someday...and I hope this is what it'll sound like

Olson works in many different ways the wrm remix is crazy and house remix too :D !
a boards vet? Thank you for your service!
With regular Olson being so short this really makes for a good length
@@Slime-Man-Extreme he fixes up old wild boards and releases them back into nature after suitable convalescences, chipped and watered.
its still perfectly olson, you can hear every warble, the phase of every note, truly beautiful.

the soundtrack of death

I wish I can hear this upon dying, until the neurons in my brain fire one last spark as it ends forever
This put a big smile on my face.
I'd imagine that this is the only sound you'd hear in space.
It's a really beautiful and relaxing song to listen. Kinda impressed how it was made 10 years ago.
This is beyond the usage of words. Life makes sense now
Quality post to match the quality of the music. Keep safe Tim :-)

videos from 10+ years ago on youtube are always so mesmerizing
True musical artists have something beautiful hidden in their song.

Olson is beautifully at any speed
Extra terrestrial beings speak to us in the form of slow yet understandingly calm music.
Music does consist 0V tones just like speech so U nay have A point
no this was made by humans not aliens
space is the place
Awesome in the way everything moves by hearing the existencial of spiritual transition
wow I'm so glad the RUclips algorithm happened to pick this after listening to the original, what a find.
This picture fits just perfectly.
It describes the image perfectly.
feelings, man.
I love these BoC experimental ventures. Thank you for this.
Ego death
That sounds so beautiful.
you've done justice to boards
i always thought a minute and a half of this beauty was too little.
The massive roar at the very beginning makes me afraid to fly. I'm imagining this to be like murmurs from God's mouth speaking in His own language when He was creating the universe on the accounts of Genesis. Magnificent.
I didnt think it could sound more beautiful. 0_0

Clearly, from another world, another universe. That"s how it sounds.

I love how you can still hear Olson in this, especially starting at 6:00. Thanks.
THIS NEEDS MORE VIEWS! One of my favorites from Boards of Canada! Very morning twilight meditation!
Somehow, the tone and feeling of the song is unchanged, despite the dramatic change in tempo.

I'm fairly new to Boards of Canada. Discovered it last year. And I wish I had discovered them in my youth.
brings back memories
This is glory.
Wow, Boards of Canada are really an odd thing. Their music is so remixable and remasterable.
As with such Goodness comes more goodness

I think of the Boards of Canada guys heard this, they'd be really proud that we're all here.
I listen to this at 2x speed

Your method to play this song 400% slower is disorganized, unorthodox, & was entirely unpredictable. You have no care for rules or tradition.
Your name is sick.
oblivionnerd--I needed this comment today. Thank you.
this is incredible. well done on your 'accident'! :)

Can't tell if this is Boards of Canada, or Disintegration Loops lol
I like that it is slowed down to drone style.

My Bloody Valentine hugely influenced BoC: they took inspiration for the music has the right to children album art from “isn’t anything”
Three of my favorite things in one video. BOC, flying, and the Saab Draken
that paulstretch came in handy, bloke
The Draken J-35, such a weirdly beatiful plane
I imagine flying in one of these jets across the Canadian skies as this is playing.Heaven and Bliss
Amazing
ok, so this was pretty cool. also, you made a track that's far too short 800% longer. way to go.
Can't. Stop. Listening.
Holy fucking shit I started listening to this and said "fuck this weed's good im so high" then 12 minutes later i realized i didnt even smoke any
listen closely and you will hear the earth breathing.
