There’s a lot of problematic animes out there with questionable relationships, but the thing is, Chise and Elias are both children. Elias may be hundreds of years old, but he’s half fae and is at the same level of physical and mental maturity as Chise, though he tries to hide it with formality. Nothing about their relationship is sexual, it’s just wholesome. Even this scene feels more like two kids playing wedding than an actual wedding. They’re both romantically blind, and that just takes me back to when I was a kid and my peers were dating and romantically experimenting. It’s a beautiful subversion of a nasty and kind of harmful trope.

@@erzascarlet03 in S1 when he told he will make her his bride, he didn't really know what that meant and he didn't understand when he started developing romantic feelings for Chise which is when Chise started being his teacher because he doesn't understand feelings at all.
In human yrs he is mentally and physically her age but chronologically older for example Twilight. This is similar to those fantasy stories where supernatural beings in highschool and such are physically the same age as them and sometimes mentally for certain aspects at least like Elias with his feelings and chronologically and sometimes mentally older them.
I strongly agree with what you said about this scene. I can't even take it seriously because it was very much a spur of the moment thing that Chise's friends set her up for. I didn’t even think of it as them truly being married until I realized people did. It is a very sweet moment but it just seems like the moment is supposed to be more symbolic of them just saying they care and love and trust each other and want to stay together and be a family than an actual marriage of them being husband and wife but marriages are symbolic so... I guess this situation was just to cement what they were already feeling
People fail to look pass his chronological age to realize he is in fact a child mentally. That is the reason Chise became his teacher

[SPOILER ALERT] in the manga, after this scene, we are introduced to a brand new arc, where both Chise and Elias go to college (she is showed wearing the uniform from it as well). Soooo... Maybe, when we'll have enough chapters, a season two may come. I just hope these two have their happy ending!

Aawww, in the beginning we all find Elias mysterious and in the end we liked him so much right. What a great creepy but beautiful couple. Elias is a gentleman and Chise is so feminine. Both have a lovely character. Definitely one of the best Anime’s on my List i’ve watched. 💕

We see anothet version of a 'beauty and the beast' with different characters, story and plot. Which I love so much. Inspired but original all the same. It was a pleasure watching this anime from start to finish. I hope there is a special OVA or movie in the future. But the ending is already enough on its own

Than I remember that Elias is 300+ years old while Chise is just 16-
He is not a human, this is only fiction, do not worry about the age of a character that does not exist
^^^^ not to mention it’s shown in the anime that he is more immature than he seems, with letting jealousy get the better of him sometimes and effectively throwing a tantrum at one point
