You know, episodes like this really show why this cartoon rocks and WHY WE NEED CHAOTIC BACK! They show there is no true evil side, only four different tribes with their own goals trying to do what they think is right. AND the good and bad mixed in all of these tribes. No tribe is perfect, they have their flaws, but they still do their best much like humanity does. Now if only my American Government could learn to accept different view points and embrace those differences, instead of trying to promote one side, but demonize the other... Tian was truly a brave and noble soul, glad he helped Tom open his eyes to see there is good in Mepidians just as tom sees it in Overworlders.
@Michael Taylor id like to expand my deck as well but my current build is set for mostly mipedians and danians with some good underworld beasts As well
Yeah this is episode is what made me build my second deck, after my first Overworld starter, around Mipedians. I’m only getting back into Chaotic again now and I’m very sad to say that all my cards were given away when I moved last. My mom thought they weren’t important and it’s only now that I’m actually trying to rebuild my collection. I’m currently waiting on a starter deck in the mail.
Peyton did have a good point. If ya refuse to learn about the other tribes and at least trying to use them than how the heck would ya know how to fight against them
Yeah each tribe has something cool to offer. If chaotic was real I’d use it to feel more comfortable Danians. Not that I hate them. They’ve just always disturbed me. Being giant ants that can infect you and all.
9:24 in hindsight, it is kinda impressive it took all the way to episode 15 for someone to point out how the chaotic game could be used like this (literally walk in someone else's skin). but i am glad it at least got acknowledged
For some Creatures it's a very scary concept and why they respond to any attempt to scan them with murderous intent. They don't want someone who can basically get inside their head.

Slurhk is living proof that not all Overworlders are good guys. Just like how not all Underworlders are bad guys. And with a character design like that, could've fooled me into thinking he's an Underworlder, or at least a Danian.
It’s funny you should mention his design looking like a Danian. Because I kept wondering if he got hit with a Danian parasite what exactly would he look like?
I honestly think that because of Tiane, everyone in the whole world named him their favorite Mipedian. Same could go for Wamma and Hear'ring. I honestly think that he should be leader of the Mipedians.
@@rextheextremewerewolf3096 Instead we got Princes, Iflar and Mudeenu, one of them only had like one minor role when he was fighting against the M'arrillians.
This was a really nice episode for sure. Showing us that not any one tribe is defined by any one(or more) creature. Sure we saw some mean/bad Mipedians earlier on, but Tiaane was a really good guy. Another creature that would sacrifice themselves not just for a friend, but for humans. We also see a mean/bad Overworlder, something that's definitely not been shown until this point. Overworlders are my favorite, but I know not all are "good spirited". It's also why I love creatures from all over the board. I understand the lesson that not everyone of any tribe is bad just because of a few bad apples. Lord Van Bloot and his goons might be scum, but that doesn't mean others like Chaor, Takinom, and H'earring are bad. Some like Chaor might be "rough and tough", but they're not total jerks.
I wasn't a fan of the episode Maze of Menace, but i still appreciate Chaor, especially when he says "yo" in the battle against A'uune. Made my day as i laughed. Chaor, in the videogame, was my favorite Underworlder.
Tbf that’s because in an actual match you might be throwing your best beater at your opponent’s best beater neither wanting to lose them right away. While in the show you don’t have to worry about the attack deck, and weak creatures can win if you’re the better fighter.
Well mugic and battlegear are way more impactful in the show. Fortissimo is one of the most iconic and badass abilities in the entire show. It’s how Tom won his very first match, and comes up a lot in actual Perim. But I’ve never seen anyone use that garbage card in an actual deck. One card goes a lot further in the show than the card game
I think the real time combat is why. In a card game, that first win is vital. You wanna get as much momentum as possible, as fast as possible. In the shows real time combat. Players can dodge, throw in non-power based hand to hand, and seek out locational advantages. In that kind of game. You want to pace yourself. Save your get out of jail moves for when they're needed. In a last stand 1v1. You'd lose if you spent all your mugiks early and your opponent saved them to rain hell on you
Peyton’s right about sacrifice being a gutsy play in the dromes. If your playing as the creature at the time, you have to actually kamikaze yourself. Most people don’t have the mental fortitude for that even if they are guaranteed to survive. Plus you also risk a Refrain of Refusal or something similar turning your play into a creature sacrificed for no value.
That’s exactly how Tianne was when they used him in matches, When Tom used him here, he kamikazed himself and won, and when Peyton was fighting Battleboarder with the Allmageddon Hoton, he tried to beat him with Tianne’s ability when he was fighting with Marquis Darini, but Hoton countered it with Refrain of Denial to shut Tianne down
This was one of the first episodes I watched. Starting in the middle of the “Tom loses Maxxor” arc was definitely weird. But Tianne made a great impact!

Call me crazy, but one of these days I really wanna see all the episodes of Season 1 get an animation makeover to look more consistent with Seasons 2 & 3 (as it is, Season 1 just feels like an alternate universe).
I really like the animation of season 1 and. I think there's actually things that this animation does better than the other ones. Also this is classic and iconic. I wouldn't change this for anything. Season 1 of the show us like the first 3 sets of cards. Original
@@marinhrabric6162 season 1 if anything gave chaotic more personality and thanks to the simpler art style, it allowed for smoother animation whenever it was the moment (just look at codemaster chronicles) while still being very fast paced while keeping most of the details intact
You need multiple danians on your team for most of them to be effective, there is no reason to waste slot for someone unless you have mandiblors to go with him. So it'd better to be used by a full danian player lol.
Every tribe has its advantages and disadvantages. Not one of them is technically any better or worse than any of the others. It just comes down to personal preference.
Very true, I liked Underworlders and Danians at first because of how they looked, but after awhile I found I preferred to play using Mipedians or Overworlders.
Fun fact: I read that Overworlders are based on humanoids and real world creatures, Underworlders are based on cryptids and mythology, Mipedians lizards and Danians insects and bugs. He looks like a scorpion so he's an Overworlder. I didn't know what tribe he was from either at the first until Tianne said. And then I read where all the tribes are inspired from so I figured I'd share. I.hope this enhanced your Chaotic viewing experience
I was hoping that the more Codemaster matches Tom had the more mix his team would become (like here where he has mix Overworlders and Mepedians... he never did try Danians now that i think about it) as he gains an appreciation for all the tribes and try to create a balance team from all 4.
This episode like the teen titans episode Trok and static shock about Reggie’s dad are amazing examples of teaching an incredibly important lesson without bashing you over the head with it and only gets better as you grow up
That scorpion guy is a real outcast in every sense of the word. He is an overworlder but doesn't seem to hold any of their ideals. He is also a bug which is quite unusual for an overworlder since they tend to resemble beasts and humanoids. Theoretically, he could fit in the bug tribe but I don't think that is the case. He also lives in the desert which is atypical for an overworlder. Finally, he is one of the few creatures of Perim that is genuinely malicious, most creatures only attack humans when they invade their property. I mean you would attack someone if they broke into your house to take a picture without your approval. Throughout the series although the creature may not like the humans they are not hostile towards them unless provoked. Heck, a lot of the plotlines involve them working with humans. Slurk seems to be one of the few creatures that actually hates humans and wants to hurt them.
i think the scorpion saw the water hole as his, so when Peyton and Tom when to drink from it Slurk saw it as htem stealing from him but overall, i love this anaolgy
But I do wonder if slurhk is nice to other overworlders? Does he follow maxxor's orders or is he a lone wolf? Just because he was aggressive to two humans and a mepidian doesn't mean he hate his own tribe.

16:51 Well that’s what he gets for calling Tom a Lizard Boy, And I know Tom is just rubbing it in since this guy just lost the battle and Tom just Won the battle so that makes sense ^^
maybe he didnt have any he wanted to trade or they might be for different areas of the oasis. Plus driftlands might have been a close enough walk for Peyton to try and bring his point about not judging tribes by individual actions and that even if the creatures a dick could still be a valid team member.
4Kids dubbing: "Eeww death is bad" "Yeah let's say someone kidnapped him" 4Kids Writing: "Oh let's have this character sacrifice his life." "Oh that sounds like a good idea."
I know people have argued this, but there are some differences. Anime tends to be more bloody and goes the extra mile at times. In this case, he did sacrifice himself but it shows that tienne survived and is still alive. Would it have been ok if we saw Nami's foster mom brutally murdered as a kid even if it was a noble sacrifice? Doubtful. The difference is how its shown that makes censorship necessary at times. Maybe it would have been better if they changed it to where she would have been executed off screen as to not traumatize kids but still keep the impact. But the FCC unfortunately decides what can and can't be shown. Blame them if you want, 4kids just had to follow their rules like any other tv network.
"We're not human, we're mepedian!"

Would it have taken more than ten minutes to teleport to the oasis, scan it, come back and give the scan to Tom? I mean they wouldn’t have had this same adventure but they wouldn’t have had to wander through the desert and get attacked by a scorpion guy.
No matter how many times I watch it this is the most important episode in season 1 in my opinion
Slick Nick sounds an awful lot like Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!
Kaz is actually voiced by the voice actor for Pegasus in Yugioh. I believe Agro999 is voiced by the actor who plays Tyranno Hassleberry in Yugioh GX.
Maxxor and Ulmar are voiced by Goku himself, Sean Schemmel.
@@MrChaotic4 Oh nice! I didn't know that Maxxor and Ulmar are voiced by the same actor! Also, I love Goku!
@Michael Taylor And Dan Green voices Tangath Toborn.
I hope they bring them back for the revival. It wouldn’t be the same series without them,
Call me crazy, but one of these days I really wanna see all the episodes of Season 1 get an animation makeover to look more consistent with Seasons 2 & 3 (as it is, Season 1 just feels like an alternate universe).
I really like the animation of season 1 and. I think there's actually things that this animation does better than the other ones. Also this is classic and iconic. I wouldn't change this for anything. Season 1 of the show us like the first 3 sets of cards. Original
I prefer season 1 animation
and in HD too pls
@@marinhrabric6162 season 1 if anything gave chaotic more personality
and thanks to the simpler art style, it allowed for smoother animation whenever it was the moment (just look at codemaster chronicles) while still being very fast paced while keeping most of the details intact
But I much preferred the look of the season 1 animation, truly felt like a sunday cartoon show
When I play Chaotic, I always use creatures from different tribes, with both Tangath Toborn and Tianne in it.
11:29 every end is a beginning and every beginning an end
20:59 every beginning is an end and every end is a beginning
I guess this is the "Don't be racist" episode.
Yep.
Seems like it
Handled better than most adult shows.
well to be fair Tom did have good reasons to dislike Mipedians
lmao
In this episode, Tom learns the joys of suicide bombing
So He becomes Muslim
This is my favorite episode because it introduces my favorite mipedian Tiaane
I just realized that the only tribe we never see Tom using once is the Danians
he used one in out of cold
You need multiple danians on your team for most of them to be effective, there is no reason to waste slot for someone unless you have mandiblors to go with him. So it'd better to be used by a full danian player lol.
Well there was that Overworld Ambassador who got Turn Into A Danian, so that slightly counts.
this episode makes me wish I had Tiaane's card
Every tribe has its advantages and disadvantages. Not one of them is technically any better or worse than any of the others. It just comes down to personal preference.
Very true, I liked Underworlders and Danians at first because of how they looked, but after awhile I found I preferred to play using Mipedians or Overworlders.
@Michael Taylor expect against the Marrilian
... Damians would like to point out how terrible they themselves are.
@@nicolasde9949 They improved under Aszil, slightly...
Categorically false. Overworlders are best there is no question
I love the melody of that symphonic shield,
Sure wish that card would be in the card game
@@ecbgames238 yeah
It is. It's actually called "Symphony of Shielding" It's an overworld mugic though.@@ecbgames238
It’s weird that each tribe seems to have a couple members that look like members of other tribes.
I thought that scorpion guy was a danian at first
Fun fact: I read that Overworlders are based on humanoids and real world creatures, Underworlders are based on cryptids and mythology, Mipedians lizards and Danians insects and bugs. He looks like a scorpion so he's an Overworlder. I didn't know what tribe he was from either at the first until Tianne said. And then I read where all the tribes are inspired from so I figured I'd share. I.hope this enhanced your Chaotic viewing experience
@@lunaathena9036
that's really cool! thanks for sharing!
Honestly the skeleton face was giving me Underworlder vibes
@@SirGrimLockSmithVIII?

6:48 Anakin approves of this message
0:06: Deal? More like Steal!
I was hoping that the more Codemaster matches Tom had the more mix his team would become (like here where he has mix Overworlders and Mepedians... he never did try Danians now that i think about it) as he gains an appreciation for all the tribes and try to create a balance team from all 4.
This episode like the teen titans episode Trok and static shock about Reggie’s dad are amazing examples of teaching an incredibly important lesson without bashing you over the head with it and only gets better as you grow up
I know!!! They don't know how to be subtle in modern cartoons always gotta bash our heads with their message
@@spritemon98I agree with the sentiment, but we didn’t have nuts with manifestos shooting up shopping malls and schools every other week back then.
This was deep man good episode and Tianne is all around a good Mepedian.
8:43 ohhohoho! Irony!
17:19 in this one it shows Ulfaddin with a Earth element counter and yet for the rest it's not there
Help! I’ve fallen, I’m giant, and I can’t get up
That scorpion guy is a real outcast in every sense of the word.
Slurk seems to be one of the few creatures that actually hates humans and wants to hurt them.
i think the scorpion saw the water hole as his, so when Peyton and Tom when to drink from it Slurk saw it as htem stealing from him
but overall, i love this anaolgy
Not all overworlders live in kuro city, some like Hoton live in certain parts of the overworld ( overworld is the entire surface including the desert)
But I do wonder if slurhk is nice to other overworlders? Does he follow maxxor's orders or is he a lone wolf?
Just because he was aggressive to two humans and a mepidian doesn't mean he hate his own tribe.
Today Tom learned a very important lesson on racism: racist people don't win at card games
Definitely. Racism is very bad indeed. Remember never let racism consume you with the poison of hatred for the rest of your life.
"We're not human, we're mepedian!. Because we're different you find us difficult to understand."
deep.
5:30 Jet the Hawk makes a surprise appearance.
Very powerful episode actually. I knew I loved this show growing up for a reason😊😊
Please tell me Tiane gets used again in a later episode by Tom.
one would think Tiane would be among Tom's personal favorite Mugic casters like Blazer
Not, he didnt used again
Love every episode
Tom: "I hate sand!"
Me: Okay, Anakin!
EVEN EGGMAN IS HERE IN THE SAND LAND
Ok why are all those great early 2000s shows so hard to find/expensive chaotic season 1 is split into 4 volumes on dvd and the only one i could find wasnt even in my region code AND IT WAS $75+ zoids zach bell digimon all rare all expsnsive im lucky i got season 1 and 2 cheap
Pin this one on 4kids being really bad at media distribution
well, the official chaotic RUclips channel posted all the episodes

@@drawbyyourselve but again why is the war beast episode only the first few minutes?

Every end is a beginning. Every beginning an end.
16:51 Well that’s what he gets for calling Tom a Lizard Boy, And I know Tom is just rubbing it in since this guy just lost the battle and Tom just Won the battle so that makes sense ^^
Why didn’t Peyton just port to the Oasis and get another scan of it to give to Tom?
maybe he didnt have any he wanted to trade or they might be for different areas of the oasis. Plus driftlands might have been a close enough walk for Peyton to try and bring his point about not judging tribes by individual actions and that even if the creatures a dick could still be a valid team member.
Maybe it would of taken too long.
1:20 it's extra fucked up since klay already _has_ a scan of magmon so he was just scamming the newbie for fun with no actual gain
I do appreciate how much he loves underworlders tho, he's even a bigger fan than kaz.
It may have been a better scan of magmon with higher energy and stats.
Careful Tom. Your Skywalker is showing. :P
Tom, Are You Okay?
4Kids dubbing: "Eeww death is bad" "Yeah let's say someone kidnapped him"
4Kids Writing: "Oh let's have this character sacrifice his life." "Oh that sounds like a good idea."
Hypocrites
And then walk away.
The dude tom battled, his voice actor does joey from yugioh
I love mixing overworlders with mipedeans. Two favorite tribes.
The scanners are like what Azmuth intended the omnitrix in Ben 10 to be, the ability to see what it is like to be another being.
Future Writers: Take note. This is how good writing for subtly dealing with racism looks like
I wish we got to see Peyton battling the kid that never lost with Agitos.
Melody of mirage!
Slurhk's an OverWorlder! I thought he was an UnderWorlder! Good thing Tiaane defeated that UnderWorld-like scorpion!🦂
Oh fuck is Tom's opponent voiced by Joey Wheeler?
Damn, a lot more 4Kids dub actors cameo'd in this show than I thought.
Great episode😅
The 6 creatures I'd use are Najirin, Intress, Maxor, Von Bloot, Simeon, and Tian
Yo that would be a stacked deck love it
id probs switch out simeon for tangath toborn or that one card crellan had
