- Paper Mario has a Pro Mode! Clover made this romhack; it's designed to be more difficult than the vanilla game since it includes a few new enemies, balance changes, better AI, overworld changes and extra features. I did a full playthrough of this on my Twitch livestream, but wanted to share some of my favorite clutch moments and chat interactions with RUclips. Did I mention optional boss refights? Pro Mode added "superbosses," extreme versions of the chapter boss fights intended to be very satisfying endgame challenge. We did every fight first try, except for Tutankoopa!

@@InspectorGadget01 that was a classic, I need to rewatch those highlights. Also, long time no see.
I remember thinking TTYD was just okay when my brother and I first played it. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, but to me the pacing was off, like a 2 day blockbuster rental.
A look back at this first one reveals a more methodical act structure. Nearly every chapter has 3 segments leading up to the climax of its arc giving the playthrough more breadth. You get a sense of your surroundings and how your interactions with the local characters bear significant weight.
I'm really glad that the shufflizer and mods like this are in the fold. They remind me why I enjoyed this series so much.

I know there's at least one TTYD rando/shuffler out there, but no true TTYD Pro Mode... yet. I wouldn't be surprised if someone's working on it right now. Heck, if I had the time and know-how, I'd make one myself.

Whats the difference and whats better? Im trying to decide on which mod to play. I been wanting to do a paper mario lets play but been trying to think of a way for it to be more challenging. And I just discovered this and master mode. But cant find any post on the vs between Pro mode and master mode. And what is Luigi mode?
Alex Ninten Luigi’s Challenge disables level ups and gives you around 64 BP.
This is activated by talking to Luigi before you start the prologue.
Master Quest vs. Pro Mode.
Pro mode has double damage, increased enemy stats, some new events, and a lot of rebalancing on the player side (badges and partners)
Master Quest is essentially just more of what Pro Mode is, but it also has brand new areas, new badges, repurposed partner moves (a few of them have different effects now), even more events, even higher enemy stats, clever battle layouts, new enemies (some scrapped from OG Paper Mario and some new ones), new mechanics in some fights, and a lot more.

pro mode was nice while master quest went totally overkill with the difficulty and sucks because of it
I've 100%'d pro mode, and hearing Stryder himself call it difficult makes me feel extremely proud of being able to do it!

chilling out an enemy with more than 127 health crashes paper mario
Killing the koopa bros rematch in the wrong order crashes paper mario
letting the goomnut fall in the goomba king rematch crashes paper mario
funny thing is, there are crashes in this hack that can crash the game, and not just ones from the vanilla game. i've personally had it crash on the koopa bros. rematch, though heard it can on a few other places like the goomba bros rematch. there might be other crashes, though i'm sure some vanilla game crashes are still here too.

There's also Paper Mario master quest which is apparently even harder. And pro mode has an Easter egg that lets you do a super hard playthrough where you can't level up but you get like 60 bp.
@@jimmyjohnjoejr 64BP, and every badge costs 1BP. not really much of a "challenge" with 3/4 of vanilla's badges being able to be equipped
And that's coming from someone who's done 500+ frame perfect inputs in a row
He's routed those 500+ inputs, and TASed the route. But I don't think it's even theoretically feasible for anyone to do in real time.

Started a playthrough of this after not playing the original in like 9 years, I love it. It really does bring back the sense of difficulty and reward of finding new strats that I experienced as a kid when I played the vanilla game
The actual reason this game is in "Pro Mode" is because you *_CAN'T_* crash Paper Mario in this hack like before

Jimmy John Joe Jr. Well, you should focus on all of them. What I recommend is, upgrade all the stats in this order: FP, HP, BP. The reason FP should be upgraded first because it's the lowest amount. At least that's what I do in the real game. I'm not sure about the Pro Mode mod but, just do that and see how it turns out.

That attack has 3 power and hits 10 times - Stryder probably had P-up D-down equipped. To be honest I'm surprised that life shrooms worked at all during that fight - I didn't have any at the time when I fought Master 3.
