- This was an overnight backpacking trip I did with my girlfriend on Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park in September of 2020. The Pacific Northwest at this time was dealing with intense smoke from record-breaking forest fires throughout the region, so visibility was limited at times. We still managed to have one of the greatest camping experiences of our lifetime, and this campsite could seriously be in the running for the best I've ever had!

U can sure see Mothers Nature's power every where!....very good video!
Thanks so much. Its an amazing place
Rialto Beach is one of my favorite places. Raccoons often visit the beach at night. Deer, too, but their eyes would be about the height of a human. Glad you enjoyed the camping experience!
It was amazing. You’re right. Totally could’ve been a raccoon but tough to say! Thanks for watching!!
me and my dad have been to chelan memorial and cedar creek and they are both awesome. this is my favorite spot to camp
Nice! Ya this still might be my favorite campsite ever
@@mikewanders only part i ever stress about is getting around spots like cape johnson because if its high tide your stuck same with most of the points
What a magical place.
Absolutely!!
Great video! A unique perspective with the smoke/fog, but definitely still beautiful. Incredible campsite, too. Glad your unidentified wildlife encounter was a safe one. Looking forward to your next adventure!
Thank you so much. Really appreciate it.
My favorite place 😍
I totally get it
That looks so gorgeous i was born and raised in oregon and i love the oregon coast and camping and hiking is my favorite thing to do the sound of the waves is just so peaceful
There is nothing better. Jealous you get to spend so much time in Oregon. Thanks for watching!
Awesome and amazing!
Thank you so much. Appreciate it!!
I love your video so much. I've visited the area several times, being from Seattle, and I'm sad you missed some of the best views with the fog and all..but the fog is DEFINITELY a thing here.
Thank you so much! Yeah it was still so beautiful and relaxing. Luckily I did go back recently and got to see one of those gorgeous sunsets. Amazing.
Man I’m glad I found your channel. My wife and I are on our way to Olympic in 2 weeks. Great videos!
Thanks Jason! I definitely recommend checking out both Rialto beach AND the Hoh Rainforest
I will also be there in 2 weeks. Just curious, was there not much condensation in your tent?
@@TheSpirobulldog there actually wasn’t. It was incredibly dry while we were there. Obviously that’s not how it normally is in the PNW tho. I’m sure it’ll be way different in two weeks.
Jason: Provided you did, actually, visit the Rialto Beach area; how did “everything” work out? I was, there, in 1968, while I was working for the DNR, of Washington State.
@@dennispine2603 was beautiful! We loved it. I have to say Beach #4 at low tide was probably our favorite though. I could spend all day at those tide pools if the tide allowed😊
Your vids are so great Mr Mike
Hahaha
Love the music
Thank you! Really appreciate it
The animal you saw in the dark was most likely a raccoon. They are notorious night raiders. We have backpacked this section of the Olympic Coast many, many times in the last 40 years. Raccoons are the reason why bear buckets are required.
Yeah that makes sense. More I’ve thought of it, the more I’m convinced it was a raccoon.
Do you have to get a permit to camp at the hole in the wall camp ground?
That’s a great question. I think it may be one of those general permits, and once you have it you can camp anywhere. I THINK
@@mikewanders Thanks for responding. My wife and I visited last year and now she wants to camp on the beach. Thanks for posting your video!
