Solo Backpacking in HUGE Thunderstorm | Banff National Park
This was a solo overnight backpacking trip I did in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada during an absolutely epic thunderstorm. I had already been out in Alberta for a few days prior to this filming another project, and it was pouring rain almost the entire time. I didn't feel like going home just yet, so I extended my trip an extra day so that I could do SOME backpacking in the Canadian Rockies while I was there. The thunder was bouncing off the dramatic cliffs of Banff which only enhanced the sound. This trip was done on the Mosquito Creek trail as part of the Molar Loop, off the Icefields Parkway. Originally, I planned to hike up to Molar Pass, but a big storm moved in during the ev...

SOLO Backpacking ADIRONDACKS in BUG SEASON | West Canada Lake Wilderness | Remote Lakeside Camping

This was an overnight backpacking trip I did in the West Canada Lake Wilderness in the Adirondacks of New York. I had a great lakeside campsite on Spruce Lake, that featured Loon calls all night. The West Canada Lake Wilderness is also home to deer, black bear, and occasionally moose. Solo camping always provides a deeper means of connecting with nature, and that is why I love it SO much. This was an easy, solo but wonderful overnight backpacking trip I did in The Siamese Ponds Wilderness in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. The Adirondacks are absolutely massive, and a truly wild and beautiful area. Hiking ...

First time watcher here. I love that you aren't claiming every noise as a bigfoot noise, and that you are not assuming everything was caused by bigfoot. Normal things do happen with or without bigfoot. It's a nice change to see someone just enjoying the area and being open to new experiences. I definitely subscribed to your channel.

I am exactly halfway through your video and I have to say I'm a little disappointed you did any "whoops". Many, many researchers have said that humans, trying to mimic these creatures are pretty much useless simply because of the difference between a human sound at the sounds with creatures make. Therefore I'm not sure why you didn't simply do a knock or two because Knox are much more discreet and seem to be more successful... MUCH more successful ass getting a response.

Hi Mike. This is Dorf from the group you met at Mosquito. Yeah, that was a nice little storm. We had just gotten into our tents when the thunder started. We ended up bailing after 2 nights due to the crap weather and Chuck’s Achilles not cooperating. Made it over North Molar and camped at Fish Lakes on our second night but hiked out the last 7 of 11~ miles in the rain the next day. Would’ve been a horribly uncomfortable 3rd night had we pressed on. Naturally, the weather broke the next day. Us three and 3 more did a week in the Beartooths a few weeks later and only had maybe 3 hours of rain the entire time we were out. Go figure

You can hike off trail but you need to stay in designated sites. Theres likely areas where off trail hiking isn’t permitted tho due to thermal activity. Just check park site info on the area before you go. And thanks for watching!

The day I went to the Thorofare Ranger Station & camped at 6Y6 was one the best days of my life. We went south along Yellowstone Lake (stayed at 5E6 which was Magic), then to 6B4 (ordinary), 2 nights at 6Y6 (epic), back up to Upper Ford (6B2--dangerous. They need to close that site), across the bottom of Yellowstone Lake to 7G1, and out Heart Lake (8J1). Epic adventure. Amazing. One of the best times of my life. Thank you!

Absolutely a logger stacked rock on a stump 😂them cab lizards get bored and silly in them stupid harvesters , and you can clip your tracks off easier on a rock then a tree so put the rock where its away from the track run and visible before the limbs and stick piles would settle from snow and gravity it would been 2-3' thick of limbs on the ground

I took my pup about 3-4 miles down an old abandoned logging trail in washougal wa last year. It was obviously an off road trail. Before even discovering the trail at the main entrance of the mountain there were piles and piles of deer skeletons from what I’m assuming were hunters so tons of deer in the area. Super dense fog with sludgy snow ❄️ once we got to a certain elevation. Anyways we’re trekking 3-4miles down this trail. Could hardly see 10ft infromt of us when we heard what I can only describe as a deep pitched whistle off into the tree lines down a steep embankment. The trees grew super close together so it was pitch black, the fog didn’t help and dense as hell. My dog tried to run into the woods barking after we heard the second deep pitch whistle. And when I tell you it was deep it was so deep I felt it in my chest. I’m an avid backpacker. I’ve heard cougars, elk, brown bears black bears, owls you name it. Nothing like this. It keep whistling. Anyways I had to jump on my dog. Leash her up. I pulled out my 9mm extended clip and flashlight. 🔦 couldn’t see anything. I called out and let whatever it was know I was armed. It did one last whistled and I hightailed it out of there. I’ve never been so scared in my life and I backpack alone. I never saw anything not even a shadow the forest was way to thick but it sounded like it was right in front of me and 8-9ft tall but still I knew it was far away from me. I walked backwards 90% of that trail with my gun pointed down the trail. It freaked me out. Ohhh and this was during the day around 5pm summer time.
