I enjoy watching you guys, you're a kick. Travel and animals are my passions. I am an old woman now. I enjoy watching people have a good time in their travels. Love your videos!, Thanks for sharing.🥰
Aww Pamela! Thank you so much. We love both of those things as well! So glad you enjoyed this episode. ❤ -Katelyn
I've enjoyed all your videos🥰@@NewstateNomads
Growing up in Washington, we know that the Olympic National Park is fabulous! We did a video that actually praised it as the best National Park in America. I'm glad you were able to visit and hope you get a chance to come back and spend a little more time exploring. Like so many of our great National Parks, the Olympic National Park is huge, and it takes time and planning to experience its beauty. Thank you for sharing your adventures and we look forward to seeing your future videos.
Thank you for your videos, there are always well structured, with good explanation, information. It is particularly good for older people who may not be able to go and visit these places.😊
Thank you so much, Catherine! That truly makes us smile. We always hope to give a good overview for someone planning a trip or visiting virtually with us. ❤ -Katelyn
Nice job showcasing Olympic! It's such a shame that you didn't get great views from Hurricane Ridge, but it looks like everything else was lovely. The diversity of terrain at Olympic has got to be amongst the highest of any national park. Keep up the awesome work! We know well how much effort it takes to plan, film, and edit good videos, far more than most realize!
I am thrilled to see you visit Olympic! Because we’re rather remote, many RV YT channels skip us by. We live just up the road from the visitors center near the entrance to the road to Hurricane. You hit so many of my favorite places - the Elwha valley, Lake Crescent and the Soleduc. I’ve not been out to visit the west side of the park in a while so thank you for the review and incentive for us to get out there!
I lived in Port Angeles as a kid. Hurricane was my back yard. Cried when I heard about the fire.
Oh my goodness, we loved our time there! And it's wild to me that many would skip it. It's such an amazing place with lots of diversity. Truly a gem! 😍 So glad we hit some of your favorites! -Katelyn
😢it was so sad to see the remnants of it!
Thank you another great informative video. Hope your both well.
Another great video, thank you both! I don't understand why your channel doesn't have over 100k subs, at least, it differently should, IMO.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much!!! We'll keep creating quality content and hope that it finds people like you! ♥ -Katelyn
Your videos are such a treasure! I continue to be super impressed with the organizational prowess needed in order to plan out all this filming. Thank you so much for the effort! Keep it going!
Thank you so much, Julie! It definitely requires a lot of planning, so we appreciate that greatly! ❤ Thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn
My favorite park! I started crying from all the memories I love it! ❤
So glad we could take you on a trip down memory lane. It really is such a special place! ❤😍 -Katelyn
This is the most informative and easy to watch national park tour I have seen. Definitely earned a new subscriber.
Ruby Beach is my favorite Pacific beach in Washington
Agreed, it's a beautiful beach, Kathleen! I'm not sure I would say the sand was very "Ruby" (like the beaches we found up on Prince Edward Island, Canada), but just gorgeous scenery. 👍 -Howard
Wow! I didn't know that there was a fire at hurricane ridge! I'm heading there this week.
💙💙💙 you guys are amazing and sweet. Thank you for making videos
Wow, Aluna, thanks so much for the kind words! We work hard creating each episode, and it means a lot to get compliments like this. We're so glad you're along for the journey! 👍 -Howard
The green creature is a sea anemone ;)
you both do an excellent job at showing the experience and speaking about everything!!! Great video💕✈️
Wow! I had no idea this park had so many eco systems. I loved the beach, hole in the wall, tide pools, waterfalls, and the rain forests! The staircase area was so awesome. Beautiful video.
SO glad you enjoyed it, Karla! We loved all the diversity so much. Such an incredible place! Thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn
Not sure if you know, but there is a cookbook -The National Parks Cookbook: The Best Recipes from (and Inspired by) America’s National Parks (Great Outdoor Cooking)
by Linda Ly, Will Taylor (Hardcover). The Dungeness Crab Mac and Cheese is a featured recipe in the book for Olympic National Park. It's a wonderful book with some cool stories as well. Thanks again for all the great content on the National Parks this year. Hope to see you two and Scout in January at the Tampa RV show.
We were there this summer. Nice to see all the places again in your video!
Thanks for the thorough review of many different places on the Olympic Peninsula! Planning a trip there this summer which will include driving most of RT 101. Looks like a great time! And thanks for also including the link for Katelyn's favorite bag!
Donald & I really enjoyed this episode! We can't wait to visit this park! 🌲
Yay! So glad you two liked this one. It's an amazing place!!! ❤ -Katelyn
definitely a national park on the bucket list for the hoh rain forest. cool to see y'all share a video on it
I so enjoy this series. Tyvm
Thank YOU Sandy!!! -Katelyn
Great job as always!
Thanks so much!! 😍
So, need to visit up there.
We live in "Sunny" Sequim. (Still pretty Grey in the winter). If you go west from Sequim it's about an inch of rain/mile to the Hoh Rainforest.
Wow! That's pretty incredible!
Wow! Another fantastic adventure, throughout a very unique and incredibly scenic national park. Thank you so much for all of the very entertaining stops along your tour. These national park videos have really been a tremendous nostalgic memory for me from my much younger days! I was very fortunate to spend nearly an entire summer in the Seattle area during my late 20's, so the Olympic Natl. Park was a favorite place to explore regularly on the weekends. Can't wait to see what's next! Cheers!!!
Thanks so much, Larry! We love hearing that. And so glad we could help you take a trip down memory lane. Sounds like that summer in the Seattle are was quite special! -Katelyn
Love your dog
I love how honest you are about the trails! And Katelyn I love your excitement! It’s catching (me) and Howard had the excitement too! Wow - this park looks amazing. It’s been on our list for years, but now it’s really on our list 😂
Haha thank you so much!! :) And yes, we try really hard to help people know what the trails are like so they can plan. We just finished one of the hardest hikes ever yesterday.... wait til you see that one in a few weeks!
Really looking forward to hitting this one some day. ❤
It's amazing! There is so much to explore. You two will love it!!
What a great video quickly becoming a big fan. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Hey Mike! Love to hear that, thank you so much! -Katelyn
Great vidoe! We are planning vist the park next year.
Thanks so much! Oh, you will love it!!! It's breathtaking!
As a foodie and a road-tripper, I always always always look forward to your food recommendations. THANK YOU!!! (FYI, that Grayson chicken sandwich did look GUUUD. And my partner totally makes up songs on the fly.)
Yay! We love hearing that... especially since we love to eat and share our great finds! You're so welcome. Hahahah love that your partner makes up songs too! 👏😂❤ -Katelyn
Olympic National Park is the park out West I’m most intrigued by. It looks pretty awesome. That crab 🦀 Macaroni and Cheese looked good. Cool video!
It really is so diverse and truly incredible! And yes, the food was amazing. Thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn
Pretty good
Awesome video! Which did you like more Rialto or Ruby beach?
Thanks for sharing this! You referenced your audio guide a few times. Which audio guide do you use? Thanks!
Looks pretty
The green things in the the tide pool I believe are sea anemone. Love your videos especially this year as I have been to several National Parks, including Olympic.
Yes! They are so neat. I was glad we got to see some. Thanks so much! Which has been your favorite that you've visited so far? -Katelyn
It is a toss up between Yellowstone and Great Smokey Mountains
@@beckynewport5980 ooo love both of those!!! It's just too hard to choose 😅
@@NewstateNomads Smokies was my dad's favorite so we went there often, back in the days of heavy canvas tents with internal tent poles. I was probably 5 the first trip, I'm now 68 and cherish those family camping vacations. Now I'm a weekend warrior with my great dane here in Northern Illinois. Great that the Senior Park pass is accepted at Corp of Engineering campgrounds. We have a pop up right now. My husband joins us on longer trips. He doesn't camp just for the sake of camping. 🤣
Thank you! This was very helpful. I'm starting my National Park tour in Olympic NP! I've been dying to go because of the diverse scenery! Is most of the park accessible by RV? Unfortunately, there are no shuttles available in Olympic. My Rv is 24" by 8". I'm booking different camp sites along Olympic NP, Sul Duc to Kalaloch to HoH to Staircase. But how easy do you think it will be for me to get around and park at the trail heads? Thank you in advance!
What audio tour are you using?
Sad but true story:
Usually the first thing that people do when they move here from out of state is cut down all the trees in their yard :(
Almost all the evergreen trees here live for over 1,000 years and most trees in PNW towns are maybe 50 or 60... the trees will easily outlive the house but people still cut them down because they just don't take the time to learn about them.
Is November the best time to visit this Olympic National park?
Naveen, it's definitely a milder time but greatly depends on what type of activities you're looking for during your trip! Are you looking for hikes, whale watching, etc? - Howard
where was the scariest suspension bridge? I couldn't hear it correctly to get a hit.
Hi! It's Pukaskwa National Park in Ontario, Canada :)
Thank you for the reply ... I just couldn't get it & now I have it. You guys do a great job. Rock on. Here's to smooth roads & great wifi. @@NewstateNomads
So what’s the difference from 50 ft and 873 ft, both will kill you if you fall? I guess it is individual concept.
How did you guys do this with dogs? It seems almost nowhere allows dogs :/
Hey there! While most trails aren't dog friendly, there's an entire section where we show the dog friendly beach in this episode. When they can't explore with us, they stay cozy in their home. ❤️ Most parks have sections of their website that highlight dog friendly trails and programs, like BARK Ranger programs.
those are sea anemone
Yes!!! I realized that later on. They are so neat!
At 11:27 -> Picture Frame! 😆
