    As I am watching this and eating my oatmeal and strawberries, I can't help but smile. I met Dr. and Mary McDougall a few years back at their 10 day live in program. They are wonderful people and like they say "When you know you know" there is no looking back. I watch Chef AJ and Plaintiful Kiki almost daily. Kiki's recipes are tasty but very simple and I use them all the time. Keep up the great work spreading the message! Thank you!!!

    Dr. McDougall, you and other doctors like Dr. Campbell, Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Greger, Dr. Barnard, just to name some well-known and popular doctors on YT, are god-sends. You can never imagine how much your presentations have impacted and improved people's lives. The world can never have enough good people like you. Awesome! So glad Kikki finally got the credit she's due. She's done SOOO much to make this diet accessible. Like Chef AJ, she's shown how easy and effective it is to eat this way, but for a whole new generation. Between her, High Carb Hannah, Healthy Emmie, and others, Dr. McDougall can rest assured his movement will go on successfully. Thank you all for what you've done to help us out here!

    I love how my life and health have changed since going WFPB November 2019. I have lost 65 pounds and 10" EFFORTLESSLY. I eat a LOT and eat OFTEN. The journey started 2010 when I read The China Study. I immediately quit dairy, but it was my weight and growing girth that took another 9 years to take the appropriate action! Now I watch these videos for support, information and stimulus. Thank you doctor McDougall!!

    I am a urologist yet I find myself constantly recommending Dr McDougal's diet. The children I see are fat and constipated (which affects urination). Many of the boys cannot see their phallus (concealed) from obesity and its difficult to find the testes to be sure they are down. For the adults I recommend it to lower their risk for prostate ca and to treat ED. In addition many have vascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Their internists don't even know that oil and fat in the diet cause insulin resistance. I have tried to speak to these docs, but they think they are too smart to listen to a urologist about diabetes and heart disease. Don't even get me started on the attitudes of the vascular and heart surgeons. Luckely there are a couple of plant based cardiologists but they are not common.

      Thank you for continuing to speak dietary truth into your patient's lives. I'm a teacher and daily get shocked by children's obesity and the amount of fake crap foods they are eating daily. A single snack of 10 ounce bag of hot Cheetos washed down with 500mls Mountain Dew! That was after free school breakfast and about 2 hours before free school lunch. 🤪

    I have been on a whole food plant based diet for four years because I was having angina when I was doing heavy exercise. This year my angina got worse and would happen when walking fast. I am recovering from bypass surgery as I write this and it’s not fun! I am not going off whole food plant based eating because it has helped me in other ways. I wish there was a plant based doctor near me. Good luck to everyone out there who will attempt this diet, it helps to have support but go for it.

    As someone who eats mostly plant based the best thing I can say about it is that I'm able to eat lots of tasty food and never put on weight. I can fill my stomach up three times a day and still be the same weight at 38 that I was when I was 18. If all goes to plan I should continue to remain slim (and with a bit of luck healthy) for another 20 years. The diet is a joy to eat as well as being healthy.

    It's too bad because my dad got a stent and it was elective so that was before they eliminated elective stents. I know I wouldn't do it myself, of course. I'm careful about what medical care I accept. I would argue, however, there are some improvements by some procedures that can do something beneficial other than reduce mortality rate and that would be something like reducing the chance of permanent disability. I feel the final decision is best left up to the patient. They may want to roll the dice. I changed my acceptance of risk in several areas, where payoff is bigger. I am more careful about exercise, keeping lower now than I had previously. I can still have a great deal of fun with a lower risk. A good example is contact sports. There are adult clubs but it's not a good idea for the sports I used to play.

      It can depend if you've any conditions like underactive thyroid, you might lose more slowly - so medical history is often relevant here, and any medications or pre medical history. And/or if you're consuming high fat plant products like avocado, nuts, seeds, olives, or nut butters, that can slow things as well.

    • @sw6118
      @sw6118 2 года назад +1

      I’m not so sure. I think keto helps prediabetic people lose weight. Such people can’t eat starch, it skyrockets their blood sugar. Once they lose the weight and, hopefully regain insulin sensitivity, they could add back healthy carbs to stabilize their weight. The problem is that most people find keto to be easy to follow. So they decide to stick to the diet and then they start adding in vast amounts of fat to stabilize their weight, and rather than eating it in foods like nuts and avocados They add oils. I think processed foods are the big problem whether in keto or WFPB. Right now “whole grain” is sold as WFPB healthy everywhere, but many of those foods are processed. It is the same problem as oil in keto (oil is created by processing something), and for some of us, it is simply too much. So we should lose weight first and then stabilize at a new lower weight while eating to nourish, not eating to manipulate…
      I’m curious to learn more about the rice diet.
