We ripped out the jump seat and swapped in the full storage console

Where did you pick your center console up from?
After seeing this vid, I got an f150 with steering column shifter with this swap in mind.
I was able to do this with only removing front passenger seat bolts and tilting it out of the way- didn’t want to disconnect the airbag cable underneath.
The console I used was taken from a XLT without push start, so we needed to remove the remote antenna located under my jump seat and hook it up into the console wiring. Without the remote antenna hooked up, my truck wound not detect the key.

My 2015 with console had 207,000 miles on it and I decided to change it for a 2018 with FAR fewer miles. The 2018 has the jump seat and I do not like it. Glad I found this video so I can now go find a console and find someone to do the swap. I am a very handy individual but tearing my truck apart and getting it put back together properly I do not have much confidence in.

I love my 2015 F150 has everything I wanted for first nice truck. I just don’t need a middle seat and like the console so much better. I do have a power converter in the back so wonder if this would work out.
It would have been awesome if you would have converted to center shift. I'm looking to give it a try in a few months. Just going to buy parts here and there.

Haven't checked in a while but mine definitely wasn't $250 and nowhere near $1000. Got mine off ebay for $570ish after taxes. And that was leas than a year ago

If you are handy I did this swap without ordering any special parts.... I used a jigsaw to cut out the Trim bezels, then wrapped them. I also believe you can just plug the side wire harness in and evrything should work without switching over the USB seperate. Ford parts are not cheap, and this can save $100's of dollars. For under $100 you can purchase the two vent attatchments and simply push together to get rear seat ventilation working, I didnt need this as back seat is subwoofers only.
Do you have part numbers? If I'm going to go through the trouble of doing the swap I'd love air in the back seats.
Do you have a picture? I’m curious how it looks after using a saw. I’m thinking about doing the same thing, but concerned it might look bad.
@@davidscherrle7908 Is there a way to send or post photos? It came out pretty clean, could also use a dremel I imagine. I could probably send a rough template but I just taped the lines and went slow with jigsaw.
@@jeremyolday1281 I believe all the part numbers are listed in the description. Pretty easy swap for the most part, I removed passenger seat and it gave me all the room to move things in and out. Basically plugs right up.
I also bought a piece of black acrylic and epoxied it from underneat the console where the shifter use to be, I then ran some switches to it.
I couldn't believe how pricey the cup holder was, just did my install earlier this week. Did you sell your jump seat and other parts?

Just took a gamble and bought one from a wrecked truck off eBay. Picture sucked, but it looks like it is fine, and it's just the column shifter model I need too, so that saves $200 for that damn trim piece (which is absolutely ridiculous).
Did you figure out how to get air to the rear. If not I did and I’d be happy to share how I did it

Hey, I bought the parts I need, I think, but i have a problem. The console was a center shift so I ordered the cup holder and dump pocket replacement. However, now I cannot get the exterior frame to snap back into place on top of it. You didn’t show the installation of that piece. How did you do it? Did you have problems? Literally nobody is out there to help with things like this.

The consoles are exactly the same so it would be the same process.

Hello, my truck is a f150 supercab 2016, do you know if any console 2015+ will fit?
I’m confused as what to put in the “option” spot on the LKQ online website obviously you put your year of f150 , interior , dash and console parts, console and then under option what did you put? Is it “floor , (full console with lid),column shift” and even when I do that I’m hesitant to buy because it doesn’t really show me pics of what the console I’m getting looks like. If you could help me out that’d be great.

jbzkid76 friend of mine is a parts manager for a local dealership so I ordered everything slightly above cost. Tasca seems to be one of the cheaper options check with your local ford dealer.
What if i have a linkswell 12" screen ?? Will it fit fit same way ? Also console did not came with shifter but it has missing bottom part so there's nothing. Can i put some sort of plastic or something ??

You don't have to pull the carpet up to run the AC it's actually really easy just get the parts it's worth doing it my kids love it

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this part is what connects to the blower. Reading the forum, you may have to use a utility knife to cut out an opening in the blower housing. Once the hole is cut, Part 18C420C goes over the hole to receive the air.

You might be able to pop the radio out and plug it in that way

why do you have to get new bolts. why cant you use the ones that were holding the jump seat in
different mounting points for the console and jump seat. Smaller bolts
How did you find it? When I search it up as console the most expensive one I get is 164.00 and the cheapest I get is 65.00. Howd you know which one was the right one?

You can do that, I looked into swapping the F150 bins to the F250 sliders but the piece I needed was over $200 so I just traded a guy the shifter for the right bin.

It can be from whatever trim, just need to make sure the colors match.

You have to do some wiring and get a new cable. F150 forum has step by step directions.
Is there any way to get the automatic shifter on the console to work if you have the shifter on the steering wheel?
Yes but it requires some work, and an extra harness I believe. I looked into doing it but I like having the extra room in the console rather than the shifter.

Thanks to this video, I bit the bullet and purchased a console and made the swap. Then, to my surprise, the truck wouldn't start. It has the push-button start and kept saying "Key not detected." I tried putting the key fob in the emergency slot, but that didn't work. I took out the console and put the jump seat back in and it started right up. There's apparently some connection that isn't on the 2017 console that I'm putting in my 2019 truck. I can't find ANYTHING about this on the web. Anyone got any ideas?
Hmmm, wish I could look through it. Any codes coming up? Don't see any thing under the seat that might be able to cause the issue?
@@OutOfLineGarage Nope, no codes. Would disconnecting the battery reset the computer, maybe? Do you know if there is any programming in the key detector? Oh, there is one plug near the front of the console that had no matching connection in the dash. I guess I can't attach a picture here, but it has two wires going into the connector, gold and light blue.
***UPDATE*** I believe the plug is the C235 PATS antenna, which must be built in to the 2019 main floor plug. I just need to find a wire diagram of the 2019 plug to see if I'm right.

@@ryanelkins8081 yes but I don’t know what the part numbers are. I know my truck didn’t have the brake controller (we added that and did a video on how to install and program it) and it had a tray where the controller was. Not sure about the backup assist though.
You could have just connected it to the cigarette lighter or the extra outlet for the cigarette lighter that you had
Is the shifter useable if you leave it on there or is it useless?
It's obviously useless, unless you take the time and remove the transmission cable from your column shifter and reattach it to the floor shifter

All in all, how much did the project cost and how long did it take?
Price and time will vary. When I did it 9 months ago. I paid $570 after taxes for the console from ebay and about an extra $100 for trim pieces and hardware. Took me about an hour and a half to 2 hours by myself to do it.

Never really bothered, I rarely have people it in the back seat so it’s kinda pointless for me tbh.

I have a full working center console along with A/C from factory and let me tell you that shit sucks. Even on full blast it barely blows. My cab gets cold enough with just the vents in the front. Save your money bro. You’ll be very disappointed if you dont. Trust me.
