Your advice please. I recently purchased a JF torsion clock with disc pendulum very similar to No 22 plate 1440 in the 400 day clock guide.c1904. I have disovered this clock has a Gimbal suspension unit. I have a beat amplifier and have had little trouble getting my other clocks in beat. However this one is driving me mad as I cannot get it to run for more than 15 min. I have not serviced the main spring as I dont have a spring winder.. I have also fitted a new suspension spring and adjusted the tine and anchor gap Is there a knack with this type of suspension ? your advice would be very much appreciated. Pete in the UK
Hello, I have a KOMA Midget 400 Days Aniversary clock that stopped working properly, it works for a maximum of 20-30 mins and stops. I replaced the string all as in instruction and assembled the beat but still no results, same swing for 20-30 mins max. Do u have any suggestions on that? With much thanks.
Hi Fred check the fork tine gap, it needs to just have enough gap to be able to get a slip of paper between tine and anchor when it’s either fully left or right.
@@torsiondell Hello again, I made the gap enough to fit a paper, but they still don't work properly, now instead 30 mins they work for 1 hour. Still trying to sort this problem out...

Lower the fork 1mm see if that helps , also there must be a very small gap between fork tine a anchor pin

Have you stripped and serviced clock including mainspring

@@beatfred2165 try lowering the fork until it flutters ( drops more than one tooth at a time ) then raise it by 1 mm.
