Very nice production my friend I have reviewed it several times and always great. I’m in Maine usa
@@freddesjardins7399 thanks please see my other videos.
Thank you very much for your video. Happy you showed the sewer pipe to hold the works. I use to uses a desert dish, but I broke down and bought the movement legs for a much higher price then the pipe.
Great video Derek. Thanks for posting this.
Merci beaucoup. Thanks a lot. I have questin about mainstring. Regards. Bernard.
@@TUCBER hi what is your question?
One more question please; Do you think the toothed wheel of the barrel should turn or not?
My gear doesn't move at all.
@@TUCBER it does move but very very slowly as the clock should run for 400 days so you wouldn’t see it turn.
The light circular scratches, are they the same diameter as your piece of sewer pipe? Could some sharp / abrasive particals have become embedded in the smoothed end of the pipe?
They were on there already but thank for the observation
Why does the barrel top cover cut out need to align with the spring hook pin?
It doesn’t always but it needs to go back on in the same place as when removed
Thanks sir. Question is or are: If I send you my clock can you change my mainspring ? I send it to Prahe (CZ) but we can talk together. So I don't know what they do on it. Clock work five days and stop. I put mainstring on maxi. Perhaps mainspring is too old. What you think about. I get this clock from family in Prague (CZ) 1942 ? anniversary clocK Perhap you want see picture? salute. Bernard. France/Grenoble.
@@TUCBER I never change a mainspring unless it is beyond repair just remove clean refit & lubricate with oil not grease, the clock probably want full service if you join NAWCC for free and ask on the 400 day forum there is probably someone in Europe or even France that could help as I am in UK
Derek, I have inherited one of these clocks. It was my grandmother's. The torsion spring assembly is missing. Do you have access to or can you advise me on a replacement for it. Not sure of the diameter or length of pendulum cable that is needed.
contact me on messenger with a close up picture of the back
Hello... I have a similar clock by the same maker... I am unable to remove the hour hand and was wondering if it was fixed on to the shaft or just stuck?
It was/is probably just stuck just gently move it from side to side that should free it .
@@torsiondell Thank you...
Thanks Derek what oil do you use for the mainspring or do you use grease, look forward to the next video.
I never use grease in a torsion clock mainspring, I use fully synthetic Mobil 1, grease seems to be to sticky ok for normal clocks but not torsion clocks.
