You could sew each loop together towards the top, large enough for the button to fit but small enough so it doesn't slip out. Maybe do it on one to see if you still like the way it looks while buttoned/ hanging... You can use a seam ripper or scissors to undo the thread if you don't like it. 💚

My mom has a felt covered foam board to help hold up sewing projects without pinning, the fabric sticks right to it ❤❤. You did great Vincent!
This turned out so good! Love it cropped, it looks amazing! If you don't want the buttons rattling all the time you could just sew a strip of bias tape over the backs to hold them in place, following the hem on the inside🤗

i feel like you would enjoy KOLCHUGA's designs! it's a cool russian brend and they have sick jacket designs.
Make the black loops about 1/2 the size they are now. They will be more snug like a button on a button shirt. Once the tightness is there, they won’t come off unless you want to take them off.
Sew the loop closer to the button size. Like just a little stitch

It turned out really cool, btw I had some issues with my jacket loops (they were too loose) so I kinda screwed the loop around the buttons and it worked great but of course you’ll have issues when u want to wear it cropped

probably because it's the german word for that (a certain kind of corset without stiff boning). :)

Ich würde einfach bei den schwarzen Schlaufen ein paar mal vor und zurück über beide Bänder nähen, sodass am ende der Schlaufe quasi eine kleinere Schlaufe entsteht, die dann eng genug ist dass man den Knopf gerade noch durch bekommt und der hält :)

So this goes out to Vincent: like four months ago I was on a plane from Pisa to Berlin. I had the window seat. There was a person sitting in the isle seat that looked like you. But I couldn’t tell for sure cause of the masks. So I didn’t wanna say anything cause I was scared that it wasn’t you and that would have been embarrassing. But if it was you I just want you to know that I was not trying to secretly film you! I was taking a selfie video and then filmed out the window, like with the selfie camera…. Just wanted to say that! :) anyways love you!
