Thank you! The butterfly wings are just freehand shapes, so not much of a pattern I’m afraid. For the butterflies, I cut the handles pretty short. I also do dragonflies and cut those longer for the body. It really just depends on how big the butterfly wings are once assembled.

Hi I love your art. They are beautiful!! Any chance that you can share the pattern for the butterflies? How long do you cut the silver wear handles?..

Hello!! I love your art your butterflies are absolutely beautiful. I am trying to make some, my flatware wont adhere to the stained glass wings. Am I doing something wrong? I covered the flatware with foil paper, but after soldering the flatware body is really wiggly. Any help you can provide would be welcome.

I’m not sure what could be going wrong. Maybe old foil? I wrap a significant amount around the end and then position the wings to the back, just separated enough for the copper tube.

Do the spoons have to be real silver? Will the foiling stick to stainless? I like 5here very much and want to make some for my fairy garden. Thank you for the video

Hello! I use any kind of flatware. I just take a wide piece of electrical copper foil, because they make it in wider widths, and wrap that around the end. It works well!

I’m not sure I ever tried. I’ve always kept these ladies silver to match the flatware.

Does the solder need to be lead free of using these in a veggie patch?

I never thought about that issue, but it might be a good idea just in that very slim chance of lead transfer.
