uk ive seen a good amount of commonapp essays videos and i just came back to this one for the 2nd time, maybe because the love of cultures is sth that resonates w me, maybe because im a weeb too, but theres just sth genuine and endearing bout your essay, frankly ill be applying very soon myself as an international student, so basically every single uni is a reach school for me and so im scared shitless but if theres anything this particular vid taught me is that you can exhibit passion w/o direct flexing and just using the right words; those that are true to you and not sth claimed to be 'most effective strategy' so ty lour drink
I love this essay very much. Like you said, the way it was executed made it 10x better. It’s so relatable to me because I also feel like peoples expectations of me sometimes take over my persona.

Would you be able to give any tips for an incoming freshman? After going through the private high school application experience, I realized how much more prepared I needed to be for college apps and how lucky I got for considering how unprepared I was. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I keep on seeing example essays on seemingly ordinary happenings which tell a great story, yet I can’t seem to pull a story out of the ordinary happenings in my life. All my ideas so far were about my extracurricular activities. Does writing about something else give an advantage and is writing about your experience in an activity too cliche?
Like I mentioned in my video, it’s less about what you write about than how you write about it. Any topic is good if it can show your growth as a person and your personality well
