Hi everyone! Today I read you guys the essays that got me into Stanford! Hopefully this helps some of you as you start writing your essays! Also just a disclaimer, plagiarizing is NOT smart and you will get caught, just don't to it 'kay. Ok why was this so helpful? A lot of these types of videos are just people making fun of their essays (which are still quite entertaining) but this was genuinely so helpful.

for the short essays, would you recommend that they relate to your desired major? or can it just, for example, be any situation that exited you to learn?
I think for the short essays you should really stick with something you genuinely feel excited to write about, whether that be your intended major or an extracurricular or a passion of yours :D Don't make it to hard on yourself and write about something that comes naturally!

Hey Tristyn, I want to ask you a question that is it ok to exceed the word limit of 650 in common app to like 700 words
There is a set number of words that you can paste into the text box then you can format it, then send it …… so, no, you can not go over the limit.
I’m so confused because I was told not to talk about academic achievements in my common app essay?

Hi! How do I defy the Asian stereotype, standing out to Stanford, even though I fit the stereotype almost perfectly :/
I think there isn't exactly a particular "Asian" stereotype (unless maybe you're referring to the model minority concept?), but in general there are a lot of applicants that are similar (in terms of grades, stats, ECs, etc). I'm going to make a video about how to stand out soon :D

I applied Early Restrictive Action :D
What is the difference between early action and regular decision ?
Early restrictive action means that you're applying to Stanford only early, not any other private schools early (by nov 1st), and regular is later on, its a larger applicant pool

The questions are always available online so however much time you give yourself before the application is due!

Anyone else feel like these essays are really bad lol? Her common app talks about ACADEMICS (overdone), her intellectual vitality essay talks about RESEARCH (overdone). Starting to think this is more a case of affirmative action than anything else.

Your essay was lowkey bad. It was just about academic stuff which you’ll talk about in the rest of your application anyways. It had no flow or narrative
