  • A review of the new Revolution IWA timber carrier.
    Just an extra note, I super glued the red and blue stantions (they can be seperately fitted with different configurations, the more common practice on the prototype is the red ones only, I have done that on two of the wagons) If you are using super glue I recomend the super glue gel as it gives you a bit more time for adjustment, thanks.

    Nicly dune good to see a non uniform weathering and variant's of the wagon's really improves the look of the rake. Stay safe.

    Hiya Ben , great review . These do indeed look great weathered and look really interesting with the different configurations. I also had a few issues of my own . Coupling boxes rubbing and axles not turning but still are great wagons when you get them running . I must say that is quite a long fiddle yard .

    The log carriers look really nice - excellent work! They're actually the first ones I've seen running other than my own and it's strange how similar they look even though there's the difference in scale. Sorry to hear about the problems you've experienced. It took me a while to get mine running smoothly on the attic layout but there's three wagons in particular that simply won't run on the outdoor layout without derailing. The finescale wheels and flanges don't help but that's the price we pay for demanding greater detail. Anyway, get cracking cutting those logs!

      Agree the detail is better due to modern demand but they dont seem to do basic testing, had issues with dapol couplings as well in this regard with my IOA wagons.

    Nice looking models, you've done a great job with the weathering! shame you had to fettle the wagons to make them work properly but great end result! All the best Tony.

    Wagons are looking great, especially the weathering you’ve done. I got stumped at adding all those extra stantions, they didn’t seem to stand up on their own so the only option would be to hold each in place u til the glue dried, how did you do yours? Cheers, Dave

    • @staffordstationngauge8359
      @staffordstationngauge8359  2 года назад +1

      Cheers Dave, I used Loctite Super Glue gel which gives you some adjustment time of about a minute before setting, and also has enough sticky before setting so you dont have to hold them in place. I could then prod them to ensure they were straight.

    Hi Ben, just watched your video and going to have to cut off the buffers and do the same as you have they will not go around 3rd rad corners even with the hunt longest coupling! Not good on a RtoR model 😡😡!! Cheers Gary

    Excellent weathering, a super job, but why is that every Revolution product seems to require modification from new in order to run well - they're not cheap products, the MK5's have sickened me.

    • @staffordstationngauge8359
      @staffordstationngauge8359  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes there have been a lot of issues with the mk5s they dont seem to test them properly, they also should have upgraded the 92s to pull them.

      @@staffordstationngauge8359 I’ve taken the electrical contacts off every bogie bar one to power the rear lamps and still my Farish 60 struggles, the Revolution 92 couldn’t pull skin off a cold custard, it’s maddening. A fantastic layout that you have there though.
