I'm older now but you guys remind me of my wife and I in our younger days. I was a carpenter, always building and renovating. We were a great team too, we still are. I became a medic for ten years and I missed making and building things so much. Instead I saw so much suffering. I'm slowly getting back into it and even enjoying sailing too. God bless you guys and enjoy your youth and have children too.
Amazing lines! I can only imagine how cool it is to slide in it! 🎉 Super 3 episode “Aladino wonderwork”! The little moment about little coin with the lamp going under the mast was a touch if a genius.
Knowing that paint hides all the flaws must have been a real problem for Alidino, because there weren't any flaws, and that had to make painting it that much harder. Special thanks to Dad, he wired the shop in a special way. When someone flips on the light switch, magical things happen. His son begins making jewelry, his daughter becomes a cinematographer, his son-in-law turns into a master boat builder, and llive music begins to play. Best 3 part series ever.
I've really enjoyed this little series, and that construction method is just fascinating. It's genius. Wonderful work.

I don't need a boat, and I have nowhere to store a boat. I can't build the simplest thing from wood, and I'm not specifically interested in boatbuilding.
But now I've watched Aladino build this dinghy, and all I can think of is that I want to build a dinghy, too!! Of course it will never happen, it's just how my brain works.
(Btw, a want to learn how to play the violin, too 🙂)
Jokes aside, these videos showing the process of building the dinghy were amazingly good to watch. The way the two (sometimes three) of you worked together with the filming and building was very close and personal - in a very positive way. Hard to explain in a foreign language but i hope you're able to read between the lines and understand what I'm trying to say.

very nice ! Aladino, ein kleiner Tipp: ergänze Rudermanschetten, z.B. aus Kunststoff im Bereich der Dollen, dann gibt es keinen Abrieb am Holz und der Anschlag für die Ruder sitzt perfekt. Am Besten sind eckige Rudermanschetten und die passenden Dollen, damit fällt es super leicht, die Ruder bei der Holebewegung waagerecht zu stellen=sehr geringer Luftwiderstand und kein Widerstand gegen Wellen. Deine Ruder sind zum Glück schön lang, so habe ich bei meinem Beiboot auch gemacht. Viel Freude noch damit.
Your dad must be so proud of you both. I lived in Canada for 2 years visiting family. Mainly in Alberta but also time in Vancouver and Victoria. An amazing time surrounded by some amazing people.
A beautiful job…but of course, Aladino is such a perfectionist. The design of this little vessel is so good and the completed project is perfect.

What a beauty. What did I tell my sailing pupils for years and years? The fun of sailing has nothing to do with the size and the price of a boat. It only comes to the feels you can get from a vessel. I can imagine your children once will have fun with this boat.
The christening of your magnificent Dinghy was truly significant. in our popular culture a saying goes: "...wet bride, lucky bride..." Starting with the Dinghy this is undoubtedly the wish of all your fans.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little boat building series. I love the shed, it was aa perfect place to build this little boat. I like how Aladino narrated the whole process during the build and Maya's editing and production of this video is Perfect. I came to this channel from the "How I got a sailboat for $1 at age 18" Video and stayed for the Music, adventure and building processes. My sister played the violin for many years while I was growing up so it always has a special place in my heart. Keep up the good work I always look forward to Friday for a new episode.

What an enjoyable video - I laughed and laughed with you all out in the rain enjoying that first experience of your new dinghy. I've done the, "out in the rain bit" so often with boats, kites, model planes etc. But it has to be done, doesn't it ?
The dinghy is a triumph, it's a fine little ship with just the right amount of sheer, curve at the stem and angle at the transom and Aladino, your patience and attention to detail is exemplary - and this is when you're rushing to meet a schedule, wow!. You both offer an example of attention and care to your work and craft that has come to feel like a thing of the past to me. You offer it up on a platform that has contributed to the dissolution of generational focus and hands on doing which is transgressive in a way that matters. The videos are paced in a relaxed way that doesn’t prioritize excitement over their clarity and beauty. The content and the form are expressions of the same important thing: a reminder to slow down and put time and focus towards those things that we are creating.

I just watched all 3 episodes of the dingy build. Your passion for your craft is captivating and inspiring.
It is somehow restful and mesmerizing to watch such a Craftsman create a piece of art. One thing Alidino teaches us is detail and patience. The company who provides this kit should be all over this project as a benchmark for their product! Good chance not even they foresaw such a splendid finish to a kit that moved beyond that label!

Love the lines of that little boat. And the size too. Small enough to be a useful tender, large enough to be a proper boat in her own right, with enough capacity and seaworthiness to take on longer inshore excursions.

This "mini-series" was Re-Inspirational. A couple of years ago I designed and modeled (in foam board, 1/8th scale) a 16' skiff. It has a higher surf bow, but is quite similar to the Scout except for Port and Starboard Daggers and Gaff rigged. I am partial to gaffs. I have recently got access to some long term barn space. Watching the Scout come together had me mulling over my design with the model down from the shelf. Thanx so much. 😉
