I had swingvision remove all of the missed returns and a few boring points. I lost the last set 3-6 and pretty sure on match point I dumped a return into the net 😢
Your opponent only plays slices. You had a good intuition to push to the net since that playstyle allows you to get a "tempo" on the opponent. Good understanding on how to follow up to the net but you often use too much power when you could focus more on placement. There have been multiple points lost where ur opponent was able to respond back a volley simply because it was powerful enough for him to just touch it (+ the balls reaches the backline which helps his answer). The rallies were on point but try to focus on the best way to achieve the advantage, in this case the opponent did not know how to answer a medium to high ball and was just resorting to tossing it back to you with little or no power. Recognizing that can allow you to push to net quicker or be able to have the time to set-up a more powerful yet precise shot. It's clear that you are the better player on the court but the (allow me) "boring" play style of the opponent which just relies on you making the mistake, needs to be punished more often like you did in the second set. In general great job with the serve and volleys!! Hope to see more games in the future!!
Azmound this feedback is amazing! This is actually my second time playing him so I came in with the game plan of getting up to the net You are 100% right about the volleys. Drop volleys are something that I need to practice. I didn't get nearly as many winners at the net as I would have hoped. I also think my overheads weren't great in this match and I wasn't able to effectively end points with them For taking the advantage on medium/high balls, were you thinking that I could go for some more loopy topspin balls?
His rating is actually a bit higher than mine UTR 8.2 vs 7.5, but I agree that I could win if I can execute better at the net. Are you a coach btw? Your insights are spot on and much appreciated
Haha why did the video end there?
