i’ve recently bought this from you and i’m up to the fourth page so far so i’m still working on it, but as i’m listening to it again i just wanna stress how much i love this piece. from the musicality the player can show at the beginning and end sections (and all throughout in-between of course), the octave work that it will provide, the rhythmic attention, and so much more, i wish this was a more well known piece. it probably is my favorite marimba solo and has been for a few months now, and playing it feels as good in the hands as listening to it does.
Thank you so much! Comments like this mean so much to me. I work really hard to not only create music that sounds good but also lays well in the hands and is fun to play. Good luck on your future performances!
Kiitos hyvä ystävä, arvostettu muusikkoni, nautin tästä musiikista, kuten sanoin, rakastan marimban pehmeää sointia, jos on oikeasti olemassa paratiisi, makaisin pilven päällä pumpulissa nauttisin sinun marimbamusiikistasi, esimerksi "Claire de Lune.
This is beautiful. You’ve done an excellent job incorporating an intricate melody and story into a piece that is accessible for many percussionists. It reminds me, like another commenter said, of Ian Trevino and a bit of Arnor Chu as well. Seeking Paradise is a gem, thank you for sharing it.
I'm not joking this has been my favorite marimba piece to learn and listen to for years now. This is really what started my passion for Percussion and really made me take it seriously in school and start pursuing music outside of school. This piece is truly amazing and I'll never forget it, 60 years from now I'll be performing this for my grandchildren.
Just finished learning how to play this piece after 2 weeks, I must say it's my favorite piece I've learned so far :) extremely happy to have it in my repertoire!
Can you please submit this to get it put on the UIL PML. I would love to be able to play it, but I don’t know when I would have time to learn it when I am also learning a solo for competition.
@@isabella.g.gonzalezI have solo and ensemble tomorrow and if I get a 1 I will be competing for the state of texas:) Edit: I MADE A 1 AND IM GOING TO STATE
Yeah i was gonna say the once the main theme hit i was like "do i hear a little bit of trevino inspiration in there?" Im not really complaining i love Ivan's stuff and i kinda look to his style of writing when i write my own stuff (when im able to come up with ideas).
This piece is beautiful, but I think finding a way to switch to softer, chorale mallets during the roll sections at the beginning and end of this piece would be beautiful.
Logan Otto, do what sounds best for you! I didn’t use a graduated set for this recording but that doesn’t mean they can’t be utilized. I chose the mallets I did because I felt they had a good sound across the board and still projected at varying dynamics (and there’s not a great place to change mallets. My bad haha)
Hey I bought this piece a few months ago and I’ve attempted to play with different types of mallets, but I was wondering what type of mallets you used in this performance.
@@mileslocke5713 Thank you very much! I look forward to hearing the amazing pieces you'll write for the future. You're an inspiration and an amazing musician! Keep up the awesome!
Hi Luke. Definitely! “Gitano” has lots of advanced technical skills that also show up in “Seeking Paradise”. If you can play “Gitano” I definitely think you can play “Seeking Paradise”.
Hi milena. The lowest note is a D-flat below the staff. I haven't personally tried transposing the notes below F to see if it could work on a 4.5 octave marimba. Maybe someone on here has? I don't spend a lot of time below F so it may be plausible to do a little transposing and make it work. Sorry I don't have a clear answer for you!
Minä olen luullut, että marimba oli melkein unohdettu soitin, olen joskus Mexicossa käydessäni kuullut heidän soittavan, isäni osasi soittaa marimbaa sekä ksylofonia.
I was listening to this and thinking half way through “wow, I want to play this on a recital.” This is a gorgeous piece!
Thanks Jordan! I’d love for you to play this piece. Just drop me a message on my website.
I love that musicion very, very much.

Just performed this peice today. Hope I did it justice! Seeking Paradise is my new favorite solo. Great job Miles Locke
Wow thanks so much Daniel! I’m sure your performance was wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing.

As merely a 9th grade percussionist I love you, you are superior.
Tearing up, this is so touching. I hope in my next life I can afford to purchase a Marimba.
I'm so glad you like it, Laura!
Practice marimbas are a lot cheaper! Of course there's no reaonators, but it's something!
That melody though... Absolutely beautiful! This deserves way more views.

I GOT IT AND IM TAKING IT TO SOLO AND ENSEMBLE THIS YEAR IM SO EXCITED
Incredibly beautiful!
This piece reminds me of 2+1 duo by Ivan Trevino and it inspired me to play this, this is an amazing composition!
Wow thanks so much! Ivan’s works are great and I’m flattered to even be compared to him!
Another beautiful piece, amazing melody!

It sounds absolutely amazing, I’m doing the solo “ghost garden” for solo and ensemble this year and I wasn’t to try this solo next year

JP Percussion Thanks! I’ve heard plenty of Ivan’s stuff so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of that snuck in there. I’ll take it as a compliment!

Love the piece! Trying to find the sheet music, but when I went to the website, all I saw was the price and description. No purchase button.
Hi Scott! If you go to the "contact me" section on my website I will give you all the info for purchasing. Thanks for your interest in my music!
I ordered the music. Started learning it by ear, since I've got perfect pitch. I'm up to 3:20 learned by ear.

Why arent more ring tones recorded with marimba. Imagine this being your alarm in the morning
I would sleep right through it. ^^
Too relaxing to get me awake. xD
Is it possible to raise this up and octave for 4.3 because it doesn’t look like you go past that 2nd high C
Would you recommend a graduated set for this piece? Because atm I'm using medium hard, but I just wanted to see what you thought
