FYI, the pump is not the condenser, It is the AC compressor pump that makes the low side (suctionvapor freon) and high side (liquid freon side). The condenser the the radiator looking in front of your coolant radiator.
I have a 2012 Camry SE with the 3.5L V6 engine. A/c went out so I took it to my mechanic. He said the clutch was bad and the whole compressor needs replaced; quoted me over $1,300. I wanted to see how hard it would be to do myself, so I searched RUclips and found this and another video talking about the flow sensor. I just tested out the method with the magnet and it worked! I have a new flow sensor coming from Amazon for $25 and will put it in myself; looks like I'll just need to remove the coolant reservoir in the front to gain access. Thanks!
This definitely fixed my issue, but I still have the problem of the clutch always being engaged. It's supposed to spin freely and independent of the pulley if the AC is off but mine stays moving with the pulley at all times. I heard that technically means the compressor is seized and broken and needs to be replaced because it's shooting metal all through the rest of the system but at least for now, the AC comes on and blows cold air. If the damage is done, it's already done so might as well just keep using it as is for as long as possible while it's working.
It works but after a year its started acting a bit funky again. With how brutal summer has been this year i decided to just buy an after market sensor for $30, wish me luck on actually replacing it down there
hello. Am having same problem right now. i have v6 2014 Camry. would you mind telling me what's the name of the magnet or a link to where i can get one please and thanks.
Thank you so much! I was desperate when I tried it, and it worked really well. Literally saved me from $2250 at the repair shop for a new compressor. Forever grateful!
I have a 2009 Toyota Camry, SE and same thing happening with the a C in this car. Looking for answers on the type in where to buy the magnet from and size of the magnet, but not seeing any replies to these questions. Would really appreciate, getting this information. Thank you very much.

Thanks bro. I tried with my 2011 toyota corolla s and it worked. Mechanic asked me for 800 dollars to replace the compressor.
Say compressor not condenser, then you had to buy another flowsensor and replace old one
1 year later and still working perfectly.

You have a variable displacement ac compressor. There is no clutch. Stays engaged 100% of the time
It worked on 2011 Toyota sienna! You are awesome! Thx for great video!
What size magnet ?
It’s good to see somebody DYI their own AC and not get ripped off by the dealership
