There are a lot of serial killers like Patrick who are completely unknown to most people. It really all depends on the media and who they choose to focus on. Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy are household names, while despite their massive body counts, names like Patrick Kearney, William Bonin, Leonard Lake and Randy Kraft are virtually unknown.
